Arizer Solo 3

I charge when I see it in the 30s and rarely ever charge to 100 (usually just mid 90s). It seems really quick like 1.5 to 2 hours max. I use the charger/cable it came with.
This is a good strategy, concerning Li-Ion. 80-90% max charging will maximize battery life.

I see the 21700s are readily available, though, and someone will soon post up procedures on swapping out the pack.

That said... when I finally throw down the cash for one of these, I'll figure out some kind of charge mgmt strategy, and not let it charge to 100% every time.

Is there anything specific you want to see in a solo 3 stem?
Black stealth look so I can post my stem online and not have people telling me to clean it ;) no but jokes aside it makes the S3 look less suspect in public

Similar length to stock stem, with some sort of cooling system

A fixed non metal screen with airflow as close to a mesh screen as possible

Standard size bowl

That would be an insta buy for me!

Last time I talked about doing a fixed screen most people objected to that idea, though I like the minimalism of them myself.
They make the parts a lot more expensive/complicated to produce though,
With the S3 Ive found the fixed screen harder to clean than on previous models though.

I was considering just doing a basic mesh screened, direct draw stem and WPA combo package.
Or maybe something with a more advanced cooling stem. Been using my S3 here and there so it would be fun to do something for it.

I'm not married to the idea of a fixed screen stem either but a zirconia WPA with a a moveable basket screen or some ledges for fixed screens would be awesome. Great flavor and almost indestructible.

I'd also be down for a zirconia stem with a u-bend. A zirconia j-hook if you will with any kind of extra cooling designed into it that you see fit.

Is that dab on cotton? did it vape well? I've got some badder I got from a hemp company I'd like to try in my solo
Rosin is so delicious. The flavor and terps are intense and the S3 brings them out nicely. There was a giant pea-sized dab on some vaping cotton in my picture.
Oh yeah 😍 I must admit that I never got my hands on rosin. Trading cannabis products is still illegal in Germany, so I have to take what black market gives. What’s it like?

In order to be able to appreciate the taste of the hash I was given lately, I tried vape wool instead of flower. Worked out great, just as my latest keef experiments 👍

Kief, hash, rosin... the S3 can handle it all and the taste is so good. That glass conduction is the key.

.
90 mm +/- length with a ledge for holding a mess screen on the bowl end, and a ledge for a screen on the mouth piece end securing the user supplied cooling balls/pearls in the space between both screens. To keep cost low, a user supplied 510 drip tip would secure the mp end screen. Alternatively a separate tapered Zirc mouth piece with O rings would up the cost but would be aesthetically pleasing and able to use the same screen size as the bowl.

Have been using the above stem set up for five or so months in a Ti and SS configuration with success. It covers all the bases when it comes to durability, cooling, air flow and easy disassembly / assembly for a thorough cleaning. A Zirc stem would be a welcome upgrade and addition to everyone's collection. User provided screens, cooling pearls and 510 drip tips are inexpensive and easily sourced. Of course a complete stem assembly could be offered if preferred.

Bowl size: regular or XL? There will be strong opinions from both camps. Splitting the difference between sizes should satisfy most users.

Well aware of the time and resources needed to bring this project to fruition. Keeping it simple and offering the most customer customization option available as possible might be a successful path to tread.

Good luck my friend.

What I like about the original stem is that it’s one piece. I’d love to have it made from zirconia with one or more additional holes in the screen for better airflow. Cooling dimples that allow it to be shorter would also be cool. Standard bowl size.

Just thinking out loud here: What if the bowl had an additional zirconia screen at the bottom to keep stuff from falling into the oven? It could be held in place with bayonet lock or thread, making it appear to be one piece with the stem. This would probably take an additional tool to operate while hot.

I’m quite happy to pay extra for a one piece design with full Zirc purity along with cooling features, but I totally understand if the demand doesn’t make it worth your time! Perhaps you could do a limited run in this style and see how demand plays out before doing more?

I’d probably still buy this purely for the Zirc material and durability plus stealth aspect of it. Although if you keep it too similar to stock/hiflow I do wonder if it’ll become a thing for some buyers of whether it’s more cost effective to stick with stock or glass hi flows and replace them as they break than to go for Zirc, because in this scenario the durability would be the only real difference. But yeah I’d probably still buy :)

This is a really cool idea as well, I like this. Would be fun to pull out at home on the porch and puff away on some hash bowls

Received my solo 3 this week. This thing rips! Still testing temps and did not play that much with on demand but vapour is definitely hotter then with my solo 2. I find it strange that it comes only with the regular stems as the longer ones from my solo 2 are a bit better at cooling. The beads steam from sneaky Pete is ok but not much cooling. Any of you found good affordable cooling stems?

Also is it just me or airflow seems more restricted than solo 2? I thought it was supposed to be a bit more open. Did not tried the xl stem yet tho…

I did back to back testings on mine day before yesterday as someone on another forum asked me about it, and it feels more open than the 2. The new xl stems also work real well in the solo 2. I found I just needed to bump the temp by 10*C or so.

What also helps with airflow is just lifting the stem off the bottom of the oven.

Still loving mine, the little rattler stem is a fave. Running at 170*C and a 5 minute session is perfect.

There are lots of good cooling solutions in the earlier posts. I like using the WPA with a dry pipe.

Is there a disadvantage to something like this?

The only disadvantage might be if you are sensitive to metals. I've used a pad like this before in other vapes and it works just fine. You will need to soak them in iso or boil them in water to get them clean.

edit: Just had a nice roast of some nugs in the XL WPA

After using the solo with a J pipe I am convinced it works better inverted. These 2 pipe came this morning and used them both and they are both really decent and can make massive rips with them both.

The small stem is the one from recommended vape supplies and I need to be honest it is not working as good as the OG and AliExpress stems. I think it might be because it is the XL stem and am used to using the normal bowl size BUT in all honest the stem just feels like it is made from a different harder glass that handles the heat completely different to it should. I tried using the OG XL stem and get good results from it so am sure its the glass this one is made of.

I will continue to do testing with it but tried ti several times already and as said not good. It is the dimpled mesh version I got from RVS.

J-hook is my favorite way to use the S3. The u-bend brings nice cooling and if there are dimples, even better. It really tames the vapor while preserving all the terps because let's face it, the S3 is capable of some hot vapor.

Keeps your oven clean and no worry about flower spilling out or burning. I have several glass WPAs now and I like to pre-load them in their PVC containers to use like capsules.

I have that bead filled step and am a little wary of the beads. They look like a collection of whatever small round pieces they could find most cheaply. They are not the usual balls, at least some are drilled, and I am not confident in what they are made of. I am not sure if the vapour temp over them is hot enough to matter. FUD!

So I'm baffled. Vaping the exact same material in my solo 2, I can tolerate a fairly large hit. But in the solo 3,used with the exact same, ice cold Ice Bong, a considerably smaller inhale irritates my throat and lungs. I'm talking painfully irritated. Could it be the vape itself causing this? Some type of contamination in the vape? I own at least 12 different vapes and never have I had this problem. I'm at the point I'm almost afraid to use this vape. By count, as I inhale, I reduced the amount of vapor by 2/3. As mentioned, I use an ice bong, so it's not a heat issue and it's not the herb I use. I left about a 3mm space in the end of the wpa this time. anyone have any ideas?

Exactly, as I said before, I would highly recommend not using that hook, potential health risks having beads of low quality with holes through them, right where you are inhaling through (Sure things could be fine how much dust is really going to get into your lungs? But I wouldn't want to take the chance, I also think they are too tiny and way too many of them regardless...) both of those hooks are so cheap and good to try I guess, but I would upgrade to better ones @Rodney if you are liking the experience

@pop22 The Solo 3 is more powerful. Perhaps it is vaporizing more terpenes than the S2 per unit of air and that is causing the irritation? I find the Venty, with S&B's notorious Bickle Tickle, makes me cough less than the S3. That said, I still love the Solo 3, but I try to have restraint in how large of a hit I take.
