how is this anvil related or anything remotely to that? Seems like more throwing fuel on the fire to me:2c:

Not suprised given our past interactions. But given you have made it clear you have no desire to ever purchase or try the device. Not sure why you find the need to invoke vape tribalism in your retirement.

Vapes R Great
Man I’ve been putting in work
and the XL bowl is the one
One thing I’ve noticed is this vape gets dirty fast!
like one day of hard use and my MP was leaking reclaim, but I do puff all day… all night (all day)
pwent back to using the stock mouthpiece mostly as I, using a water piece and it does t get so dirty (less MP length sticking in the bong)

I heat on the battery till first click stop , then second click goes off shortly after. It’s always around 45 second Or so.
only ever combusted a few times, and mostly seems from lack,of airflow… being too dirty or packed.

I’ve been going through all my stuff preparing for a move and I’ve found like 30 old torches…lol. trying out tons with the anvil.
got some nice ziico (or storch I think is same thing) that works well. Nice fat single flame.

I have been going one day with the anvil
then the next day all day with the Flowerpot B1

been getting way too baked lol
shit is real in the field

To be fair that’ll probably give you about 70-80% of the anvil performance, if it’s anything like the copper cap mods I’ve tried.

My main worries with those are all safety related. If they’re safe they’re actually a good way to try out an anvil without committing to purchasing one just yet

And regarding the “copying” - in the Sneaky Pete interview John says that the Omni was the vape that really caught his eye and inspired him to make a better version. The Anvil is literally built on concepts and tech that DV did first in this space. If people can’t take inspiration from others then the Anvil may have never happened, and the vape industry will never move forward. This is why I’m cautious to throw that accusation around despite the easy internet points it gathers

Or is that all blasphemy to say on here?

Received my Anvil yesterday. It's very well made and perform as advertised. I find that the weight distribution and the space where you can put your fingers to handle the vape without a risk of burning yourself makes the Anvil a bit to short with the regular MP. It's no problem at all if you use it on a water piece.
I have i bit of troubles with the airflow adjustment part :
- not sure if that's normal but it's not smooth at all. When twisting for opening or closing the airflow I feel the parts are grinding against each other and it's not just a feeling as you hear the sound of the grinding.
- no matter how hard I push the parts together, when I turn counter clockwise to close airflow, the main part of the body unscrew from the airflow valve first (and then the top part of the Anvil has a little bit of wiggle).
Is there something I can do to correct those two points ?

Thanks. Already checked that video a few times since yesterday. Operation seems pretty smooth in the vid. At least a don't hear any grinding or see the unit wiggling/unscrewing when closing the the airflow. But those must be hard to see in e vid

Also to help with the wiggling what happens is its hard to keep the oven flush to the body when closing the airflow, what i like to do is close the airport more than i want then open it back up to where i want it to be. If i want half closed and am wt wide open then i will close it to 3/4 closed then open it back up to 1/2, this will help keep the unit snug
You can also set/close your airflow then slowly turn the oven or body clockwise without applying pressure, this will screw the valve and oven back together tightly without moving the airflow...you can feel it get snug and then you can stop turning or the airflow will begin to open (its a very tiny movement)

Being on vacation for a bit and not really reading vape discussion has me missing all of it lol. Won’t lie though it’s been nice to clear my mind and lower my tolerance slightly. REM sleep in full effect right now.

All I know is when I get home- I’m about to straight scorch that xl bowl for max cloudage. I have a package from vgoodiez arrive while I was out of town and everything. New water piece! :dog:

Hadn't quite figured out why sometimes my oven is wobbly and other times it's not with the same air flow. Your very clear and concise explanation on the adjustment procedure has cleared it up perfectly for me. Big thank you.

Also, a while back discovered that adding a 5th O ring on the air valve just beyond the threads will snug it even tighter.

Love this little 'Pocket Rocket' !!! 🚀

i do notice more wobble when its heated up and i just assume its the viton orings get softer when heated, when cold it tightens up a bit. also varies depending on airflow setting fr course

This is why I’m such a big fan of the XL MP

Only issue is the current lack of an official case and considerably limited bong compatibility.

As a native user I really do enjoy it though, does exactly what it’s meant to without “overcooling” and neutering the flavour

Case or case adaptor are coming.

I am getting such cool hits I don't run XL thru water. But how much difficulties are you having. I'd think that shape should work with most unless the joint is particularly short before it bends.

I’ve heard this, but then no updates since and I’ve asked a few times. I’m looking at third party options now, saw a lovely leather one on Reddit

As for the issue, bare with me as I awkwardly explain it. So the MP in most of the 14mm joints I’ve tried it with, because of the length of it the tip of the MP hits the taper before the MP gets deep enough to make a 14mm seal. It could theoretically be fixed with a downpipe that isn’t tapered as much, the hard part is finding one

Does that make sense? I tried my best

Yes, I’ve noticed this as well.
I was thinking of using a thicker o-ring on the shield so the glass would hold it more snug, but haven’t gotten around to actually trying it yet.

Yes this would work also, depending on how deep/shallow the taper is.

Even in worst case you could overcome this by using a thicker O-ring, I’m just a simple guy that wants a simple plug and play solution

Maybe those black ranger bands? They're like thick, heat/UV resistant rubber bands. I have ones that are almost right at 5/8" round or 1" flat; they are a just a bit too big.

Or maybe these.

The video doesn’t help I tried so many times and was supposed to have a fix or this as the owner emailed me and told me but that was over a month and a half ago and no answer or new part like promised . The vape works awesome but the airflow is not adjustable for me .

Thank you for the detailed explanation. After playing a little more with the air flow I'm now able to close set/close it almost mindlessly with everything snug.

Actually the video helped to really understand how that airflow setting works quite well.
I managed to adjust airflow with mine quickly/easily enough but my "problem" was that the vape untightened itself a little bit when closing the airflow. Now it's all good.

I hope you'll find a solution soon enough. 🤞
