Same materials, different manufacturing process. I haven't gone back to the original lid after swapping it for my half-pack. It's not defective, and only keep using it if you enjoy it!

The half-pack oven lid is made from the same exact material as the original PAX 2 lid :)

Yep, the dock is pretty heavy (50g). The new mini charger is 10g and will stay put :) Although putting a rubber band around the dock and device works too if you're in a pinch.

Yep, both the original and the mini can. The charging power comes from what they're plugged into. A USB adapter that meets the min specs (DC 5v 1A) will successfully charge the device in a car or with a portable battery. If it's not working, then something's definitely up but it's likely that...
