@Joel W. I would almost bet my savings that you need to increase temps as you are now trying to push heat through what's almost an insulating material.

@heady blunts thanks for the description, but I'm with you, I like staying at lower temps so no waterfalls for me, lol.

I use reynolds, seems to work good for me. As far as tips, can't say since you didn't specify what you want use for pressing with and what heat source you will use. I use @Joel W. cuni plates and his recommended soldering irons along with a 4.5" irwin vise but that's me. Reading back several...

I did notice that the more "moist" flowers did produce a butter consistency. However, just leaving it on the paper for a day or two exposed to the air, it turned to snap and pull. @BoogerMan is right too. I have left some snap and pull on the paper and it turned to shatter...I was aware of it so...

I don't use any type of bag screen or anything and I RARELY get plant material in my oil...lucky maybe? I'd like to think it's because the flowers are hydrated but I don't know. @2clicker pm on the way to you.

@AmsterDAB16 yes with a gradual pressure increase over the length of the pressing time.

@Izan and @AmsterDAB16 you guys are where we all started where 20 seconds was the maximum press time. Now we have found that with a simple vise and some stronger plates, we can press at 82C (180F) to around 100C (210F) or so for long press times. Watch @Joel W. latest video. The press is over...

I kinda agree, but I would give 99% of the credit to here and 1% to whom you mentioned, lol. I looked no where but here for the rosin devices I constructed...and I thank my brethren for that

I wholeheartedly agree with and endorse this statement. EXACTLY...10-20 minutes, boom, weeks worth. I would say the bigger the plates, the pressure needed is going to up, which means something like @BoogerMan has or larger for a press...bigger plates, mo $$, bigger press, mo $$, more heaters or...

It's still a t-shirt press imho...maybe a little more pressure but not enough for the size of those plates. See the little springs on there?...they won't do jack and I don't think that thing can provide enough pressure. If I were you and wanted to do more at a time, I would get what @BoogerMan...

@shark sandwich that's exactly what I was getting at...I knew that we could press below the boiling point of water because of the pressure, and I've done it first hand and reported the results in previous posts.

@BoogerMan leads the way again! The oil looks watery too...thank you for spending the time and money on all that you do...agreed, Ti paper a big out! @ixtapa I'm not sure we can equate viscosity and temperature. Viscosity is, in very simple terms, how thick or thin a liquid is. I think in our...

I'm still a little lost on this burrito thing. I tried a sort of burrito and it sort of worked. I didn't like the consistency so I went back to my original way. I wish there was a vid of how you fold the paper from start to finish.

And did it make any difference? Couldn't agree more with @farscaper on hydration. I experimented with varying moisture's and it is much better with hydrated flower. I've even done the dunk in distilled h2o, let it sit a few minutes, then press as well as other hydrating techs...all good...all...

Clamping force on my vise is 300 pounds it says. Not sure if the pressure could be calculated or not.
