Sorry for misunderstanding but now I don't understand at all.
I was between M1C1 and M1D and then M1A and M1B.
there are few rhetorical questions:
why are there so much models ?
what is the difference ?

Hey
are you sure its worth to buy such strange product?
I thought its great Canadian tool but now I have doubts.

and the last one question from me before purchase
Should I ask the seller for the latest model which is able to work from power adapter during charging and have ceramic heating element?

Hey Kuzmich ,
I remember you from the Vapir NO2 thread .
You posted a pic of yourself and the NO2 on a bus/train .iirc
So that's where you've been hiding ... in the ' Smoking Lounge '

I highly recommend you get the Solo .
M1A , M1B , M1C , M1D's
It doesn't matter really what the serial #'s are .

Get the standard one that uses the PA , only because
the NEW ones , are so new , we don't know if there will be
problems with battery life or anything else . ( if any )
I think they're still offering the Solo+PA combo for $ 180 .

Glad to see you're back to vaping .

There is nothing wrong with it though is there? Simply wanting the newest revision isn't really a legit reason to return/exchange. These things happen all the time.

It's My first one so I don't know if the issues are all me or some solo.I would think most people would frustrated if they ordered a New item and accidentally was shows the version if the improvement is sometHing so huge that effects my use. Plus I to buy a PA with my soli to sed plugged in.

Odd things happening....
I only charged my solo initially then have used it wirh the pa ever since. Why is sometimes the battery used up while it being used plugged in? The two times I ve used the battery on a whim it was dead. I charges again ast night and so far it is still charged... model M1B if that matters.
The new model is ade to be used how i use ... plugged in. I use it too much for the battery. It takes 4 bowls just to get emough To eat dinner. I run it 5-9 hours a day depending ba d my day is. Lol

Then the air flow. I'e tried everyone's advice and get tolerable results, but restrictive like breathing in a thick milk shake. It might be the stem or normal. The airflowow changes little with a packed stem.
They basically improved the two things I don't like about my solo imo.

Does have simple way clean or reclaim the oil in the stock curved curved stem? I have as thick coating of oil above the glass holes and all sorts of gook in stem. I've had my solo 7 days only. Sure beats my anxiety meds! :) I know people use cotton to reclaim oil... but how without getting cottom stuck to every surface.. Is there a cleaning tutorial? :)

Lusi, the battery IS USED in PA mode so you must charge it. Depending on which PA you are using and how many sessions you will need to charge it every so often. For example with my model like yours I lose one battery light a day with about 6 sessions IIRC which I may not lol. In either respect both my solos get charged about once a week but I have two and other vapes I use on a daily basis. When I charge the solos I am normally at about 2 lights of charge left.

I suggest to you as I did to the OP that you show us a vid. My guess is your draw is way to fast as your stem should be loose by now. Moving it with your mouth or finger while drawing gives you that lift that is needed as well.

@caliqula we weren't talking picking up the stem for air flow this person had it basically out and we could see the herb. Also the reason you might have issues with the flat washer is it won't compress against the stem. Remember I have a washer in my 102 cause I needed a smaller ID then the oring had even compressed.

@Pipes like your dancing solo
Would this washer work in a M1A solo? The oring works great for everything but my pvhe gong could use a tighter hold

You can soak your curved stem in iso , then evaporate the iso
and your left with the goodness .

You should Fully charge your Solo , and yes , you do lose some battery power when using the PA mode . But not completely dead
tho , quite the opposite , lots of power still left .

Don't worry so much about the NEW version .
As I stated , it's so new , we don't know how reliable it is yet .

You say you like to use it in PA mode mostly .
Well look how thick your PA cord is compared to your charging cord . I think the PA cord will handle more heavy duty vaping sessions than the charger one . My PA is almost 2 yrs old and
still rocking .

To ease your draw , try adding these cheap DIY mouthpieces .

Hmm. So the silicone washes look interesting. Wouldn't mind having to swap them out every once in a while. Just would want to make sure fit is nice and it will keep the stems snug.

If they are safe to use, I'll order some and give them a try until we're able to come up with a better solution. That gap between the cap and body is such an eyesore!

The washer I have was bought by 2clicker and they are heat safe just like the orings. It is so far back in this thread a search for 2clicker and washer might work but I don't have high hopes. It is a slightly smaller id then the 113 oring. You can more then likely get it at the oring shop as well. You would need to ask 2clicker the size and where he got it. It was to tight for my m1a so I gave it away to someone who the oring didn't work for at all. In reality the washer works but is way looser then it is in my 102 and his solo is one of the m1's so there are differences between solos even in the same number range. When I got the 102 the oring was useless so I had to get another washer and 2clicker was kind enough to help me out. If it is to tight and your handy, I am not, you can shave it down. I don't find it much thinner then the oring but I never put them side to side either to see. I can if you are that interested let me know. Maybe I will take a pic for ya tomorrow of both Id view and thickness view.

Well that's pretty helpful to know! Lol!! :)
Maybe with my use killing the battery in a day or two with the pA is possible. Lol I turn it on in the evening and use it until I eat, switch strains and use until I fall asleep... turning on every time it turns off. However, I onky charged to 6 the first time and just at 7 the second. Last night I charged it fully. After 2 hours on my PA tonight, it is still at 7. :) good to know. ..

How would I upload a video here? I Don't want this in the family youtube album with the business info. Lol

My stem is loose now and I don't spread duff sll over he place as much. Lol It is loose enough to flip around in use too. That does help s but more! Maybe I draw too much ot too fast. I was a musician with a set of lungs! :)

I draw in as strongly as possible for 30-35 seconds and hold it 20-30seconds then exhale half then take in a bit of fresh air and hold again. I keep this up until I exhale no visible vapors before completely exhaling. Because of yhe redistance, I often can't get a full lung full in 30 second draw so i end of inhaling more fresh air after my draw before holding. I haven't a clue if my use is normal. Once I have to turn it up past four or the flavor is gone I don't hold it so long. Darned if I know if my use is normal.... I use a lot. X)

I thought iso left some addative in it that made it inedible or inhalable.... that won't evaporate? What do you do with it?

If I tried to wipe up oil with a qtip and reuse it, would it just stick all over the oil and stem? Could i soak it in Vodka? Lol It's disturbing to think all this gook could be in my lungs.

If I cooked my stem in a pot of butter, is there enough oil in it to make a batch of cookies? Lol would it even clean it off? :-/

You are right... The cable the outlet to the adaptor is almost twice as thick as from box to solo... both thicker thicker than the charging cable. My solo gets hot, but never the pa. It is hard to imagine the charger holding up to this, true. It would be nice to reduce hiw many things I have to crawl behind the bed and plug in. My plot was to never charge it... :)

Ty for the mouthpiece tip! As soon as I find a ride to the local smoke shop with My solo I ought find something similar! The stem gets pretty hot in my mouth. maybe this will help. I'm still thinking about a wood stem...

The gap would drive me nuts too.
I thought OF mentioned notching the o ring also.
Did you try and sand it down?

Does the o-ring go in the heating chamber under the stem?! I don't get it... photo?

Uh guys... I think my solo just torched my buds! I didn't see flames but got a mouthful of smoke!

I'd turned it up o 7 to get the last of bowl then set it on my lap and forgot about it. I picked it up to take a puff when I smelled burning then noticed all the lights were off befote I inhaled a stemful of smoke. Wtf? The unit is unusually hot, so I unplugged it to cool. Smoke steaming out the stem befote I pulled It!

I took a photo, but have no online photo storage to upload it to. Is there another way?

Once this this cools off, is there a good way to test it?

Ty!

Unplugged it's getting hotter. ... from the battery before cooler.

That doesnt sound good. Get the pics up so we can see. I know you mentioned before that you vap alot? Are you in a distant region with poor quality meds perhaps? The reason I ask is because of what you said about using it for hours a day? If that is true maybe you need a desktop heavy hitter

Crap! How do I get I photo on here?

I live CA and use meds of ll quality. Even buds from the infamous Harborside buds have little effect on me. This torched bud was dry and a year old. I use old stuff to get myself hungry and not stoned, then my good recent harvest for sleep. Should I re-hydrate the old stuff before i use it? It hasn't torched before. ..

I'm not sure what I'd be sanding down. The threads on the cap itself? Or trying to sand the thickness of the oring/silicone washer.

I'll def do a search to see what I can come up with on the washers. In the meantime, any pointers on modifying this existing oring.

Now my solo turned ll lights off after two rounds at 2/3. I unplugged it and plugged it back in then the light came c back on. Is This a normal thing?

I turned the same bud on 7 again. No problem two more times. Hopefully it won't happen again! Phew!

I would find a thinner o-ring with the same ID (Inside Diameter), I think that should let you screw the cap all the way on and still keep the whip tight.

By all means, try. Like I said above, I did and it wasn't successful. The ring needs to actually grip the stem (like tires on the roadway) for it to work. Rings thin enough in cord to fit didn't stretch enough to grip well or were so small in OD that they slipped off enough so a stem couldn't be replaced. I concluded that it needed to be the magic ID to start and still thick enough to have the right stretch.

Also tried, without success, were efforts to scratch the stem at the right spot to increase traction.

Sanding the top and bottom of the ring turned out to be the best solution I found (including some hand cut attempts). You just need to sand a flat on each side a little wider than the gap you need to close. It took me 3 tries to get a good fit, it's still in service AFAIK.

For why cant we use high temp silicone washer/o-rings? They are flat on the top/bottom... so that would seem to solve the problem. No? I use something similar in automotive applications.

You can (and should) try. I tried several without success. Same basic problem, getting enough spring back and yet not having it shift off center in use. You keep getting caught not being able to get the stem back in again and having to back off the cap and recenter stuff with your other two hands. I have enough trouble getting stems in and out without fighting it.

BTW, a couple attempts to anchor it down (wires....) didn't work either, but you should enjoy the frustration of that one first hand I think........

The best technique I found was to wrap a piece of Gorilla tape around a small wood block, sticky side out, with 3 sides covered in paper (no sticky) then stick the ring flat in the goo and let it hold the ring while you carefully run it over a full sheet of sandpaper on the bench top. Be careful to not scrape the tape on the sandpaper, it gums it right up. After a bit, you pluck it out and turn it over and do the other side. Watch the width of the flat spot as it forms to gauge how much has been removed and to avoid putting taper into it.

Good luck. It can be done, hopefully it'll last a long them so you don't have to do it again any time soon?

Then maybe I'm the first. Picked up a charger at RadioShack (returnable fortunately), same specs, but still same issue.

Bummer that, not the sort of distinction a guy really wants.....

Sounds like it's time to send it in, good luck with it.

i used my solo for months with a battery that had no juice in it because it died. what takes your battery is when you unplug it, it stays on for a moment if you don't manually turn it off. at least that's how mine has worked.

EDIT.... also,

my power bar plug became horribly frayed and damaged after about 6 months of use. got out my dremel and found out it's incredibly easy to solder in the wires, decided i wanted it to stick to the side instead of straight down, now i sit and play my games with ease and there is no more stress on the power jack when the solo sits on my tummy. the string is because over the past couple years it's seemed to have gotten much tighter to the point that pulling the stem has actually ripped one of the screws out. so the string just keeps a light amount of pressure on it so it's not swinging around in there causing the stem to bust..(which happened once, thus causing the string fix to be born)

This is interesting.....despite saying "#10", it's really a #112 ring, and most likely Buna rubber.

We want a little bigger (9/16 not 1/2 ID), #113, and Silicone rubber for the temperature.

So, aside from the size and material it's about right? That is it's the right shape........

I suggest sticking with the 113s that have worked for hundreds of us.

IMO your bud was too dry and maybe too packed. Try always nice bud.
Could be that if you're using a standard stem with too dry bud, plus restricted draw I think equals hotter temps in the heater.
I see it looks like almost trimming or leafy bud in the picture, I strongly suggest you dumping or QWISO for a nice oil to use in the Solo.
Use a SS screen in the heating chamber of your Solo, it'll make a big difference in airflow as easy. No need for lifting jerking up and down stem like many FCers do :dog:
Also, you can just poke carefully the glass screen of your stem, leaving some leftover rim inside to hold a fine domed SS screen.
Do not give up on Solos guys, they are awesome vapes when working and used properly

Edit 1: this is not intended for none in particular , but I'll strongly suggest to newcomers to this thread to check my posts, or go to the beggining of the thread, maybe the first 200 pages of posts, or around January 2012, when all Solo myths had been covered already.
From 2012 summer till now, most of the posts relating modifying performance of Solos are repeating and mostly focused on new batteries packs, DIY PAs and milk videos.
Stay vaped...

I am planning on buying a Solo and have seen that there are many ebay sources that seem much cheaper than the stores. I am a little uncomfortable buying from anyone other than the manufacturer, for fear of getting a knock-off or getting ripped-off (not receiving the vape).

So, am I being overly cautious (i.e., paranoid)?

Can anyone recommend a particular online source they have been pleased with?

Thanks in advance!
