Ok, I might get the VB mini as well just to try it out. What part of the wand is the "bore"?

It is the hole ,"Like in a doughnut the doughnut hole would be the bore. " The bore size is the diameter of the inside of the hole

AFAIK, no one else has posted using my EQ screen mod. And I don't own a VB mini wand to compare.

If I had to guess, they would be quite similar unless the VB mini wand has a smaller bore than the 10mm they list on there site. Except my EQ screen mod would be cheaper (just $8) and use thicker glass (standard SSV wand) and result in cleaner wand hash (2 screens keep most debris out). On the flip side, the VB mini would be lighter and collect less resin (less surface area).

I just noticed on there website, the VB mini uses the same size screens as the SSV (.625, 10mm bore), where the regular VB whip takes .750, (11mm bore) screens. So the VB mini and the regular SSV have the exact same size mariah. So it would come down to the bore, which I found differs ever so slightly with SSV wands, I have one that is 10mm and one that is closer to 11mm.

The bore is smaller on the mini, but there is like a lip that the screen sits in, I know i am explaining it incorrectly, but the Mini really uses a lot less herb, and I seem to be able to get better hits. ( Thicker , dense hits) but it took me a while to perfect my bowl packing, I almost never pack it more than 1/3 of the way full,

Fun Fact:
You can slip the VB mini wand into an 18-14 reducing adapter (like this) and use the SSV in an all GonG setup

Yes I have it, I was very let down by it. To start 7th Floor sent it to me without any screens, not even one in the wand. I looked extensively on their site before purchasing and they don't have any 29 mm screens. I called and let them know of their mistake, and they said they would ship me some screens that would fit. When they came, they didn't fit at all. So I put like 6 or 7 screens in there, so it kinda worked, but LOTS of herb came through the screen. The hits were really airy and unsatisfying too. I wish i had got the regular ground glass, I felt like I was buying some experimental product and I was the first sucker to buy it.

I do not use it ever.. (tried it only once and decided it was a no-go for me)
Takes too much breath control, and the air flows too freely.
I experimented with packing it more tightly to reduce flow, but then the loads did not get done well.
In my personal case, it was not enjoyable.. it was work.

I think it came with screen in it and a few extra and maybe a little bit got through at first, but if you change the screen it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get it in the right way, I was not able to do it, but my friend got it in in like 20 seconds. Screens are snug. i also cut it about in half where it narrows for better airflow

Ash catcher. I have been taking it off and putting it back on my bong like every other sesh. It's annoying as fuck. I can't make up my mind.

What do you guys think I should do?

My A/c adds more drag and I don't like having an arm sticking out of my bong that could easily get caught or knocked against something causing it to break. It is also a heavy ash catcher, which makes the bong almost tilt when held loosely. Also, it might be a bit too much percolation beause my A/C also has a showerhead perk in it.

It's all real nitpicky stuff but in the end in kind of breaks some of the experience for me.

The problem with just using my bong is that 1.) I'm kind of wasting an expensive ash catcher and 2.) the bong gets really dirty really fast. It's like dark brown after 1 day of heavy use. A LOT of bud gets through my screen. I can't even use just the mouthpiece without the bong because I'll get a shit-ton of bud in my mouth.

Anyway, the ash catcher is much easier to clean than the bong, so that's the main draw to it.

I can't make up my mind and it's driving me nuts.

I'm missing my SGG, , maybe I might just order another HC. IMO, the flavor of the SGG whip is the best, with such a wide open path. And it was so much easier to stir w/o spilling.

Well, I was going to buy new screens, but I wanted to just get a new wand instead.

I am pretty happy with the SGG but I'm not sure if I'd be happier with standard or not. I also need to conserve bud but I don't really want to get the vapor bros. wand.

I don't really want to buy a standard wand if I'm gonna end up like the SGG wand better anyway.

You will get used to it cause it really isn't a big deal. On a serious note maybe a new water piece that works better for you might help if the a/c alone doesn't. Good luck.

My water piece works perfectly. It's just I've had this a/c for a while and wanted to use it. Ah well, I'm sure it'll work on some future piece. I'm gonna do as was suggested and ditch the a/c.

My only real concern right now is choosing what wand I want. Eventually I'll probably have all of them but I don't know which to get next.

I don't know guys, I'm not sure there will ever be a vape that can top the SSV for me. It just does everything I want. It's so simple and effective and can be used so many ways that it's just perfect for me. Almost any new water pipe I get can be hooked up to the SSV for an amazing vapor experience.

I actually have the standard silver model on black base. A lot of people find it weird that I didn't want a crazy one or different colors, but I actually really enjoy the industrial look of the 'standard' color combination. It reminds me of a coffee machine or a kitchen appliance, and, imo, adds a bit of class to it.

Not to say that the other SSV's aren't classy. If I won the lottery I think I would collect SSV's. The artist ones are fucking incredible.

Money is tight for me but I am looking at all of the screen mods and suggestions and I'll try them all out in the future, I'm sure. Another thing I love about the SSV is how there's always something new to try with it. 7th Floor is a fuckin' awesome company.

Also, protip for anyone trying to sell a product: Just make a decent product that works and it will sell itself. Look at what I just typed. You can't even pay for advertising that good.

Fresh look through the thread a mess load of pages back and you will find two different people painted there ssv's and it came out great. There might be even more way earlier in the thread as well. The paint was speckled or something like that.

Another tip i can offer to fellow ssv novices , is do not watch something funny whilst using your vape. Had repeated accidents last night and woke up this morning to a sooty hc and an element covered in goo...

I prefer solvents. ISO soak my screens and wash my wands into a jar, then reuse until my jar becomes brownish yellow. Every so often, after several screen soaks, I like to run my ISO through a coffee filter so the bits of flower get removed. I've really cut down on my ISO usage, I used to go through so much and just dump it down the drain.

To clean my wand, I place it vertically in the jar and use a dropper or pipette to keep washing the sides, recycling the ISO from the bottom of the jar. After several rinses, I use a pick to scrape the sides to loosen the oil then rinse again until its completely clean.
I wand hash. It's like I never run out. I collect it much faster than keif in my grinder and prefer it over bubble hash.

My exact routine too! Yes breathe metal leave the lid on for storage. The more surface area the quicker the evap. Same with the higher alcohol concentrations the quicker evap.
