Arizer Solo

Soooo I am a noob looking for his first tape purchase, and i know I will get a gnarly home unit, but i can't drop 550+ right now, BUTT i wanna get vaping!!!

I love the idea of the vapor blunt 2.0 deluxe, but I aw someone do something similar with the Pax....

Does a PVHEGonG let me connect a solo to a water piece if i decide to go that route??

Ok, I think my Solo won't charge anymore. It got wet the other day on the way home from skiing. I can't remember who I bought it from and I have no idea what the warrenty is. Any suggestions?

wow where did you find that....? ebay..? is that a legit place, like if it comes broke am i SOL ?
Planetvape and puffitup both offer the solo for $160 with the right discount code.

I can't remember them off the top of my head, but a quick search should bring them up pretty quickly.

They are both authorized arizer sellers, and friends of FC

You might be ok with the eBay seller, but I don't know if they are an authorized seller.

Edit:
I got double ninja'd... You guys are on your game today :ninja:

Frederick I see that you have a large collection of vaporizers.
I plan to get a PA and just run water path with one of my SOLO'S.
I'm I missing something?

Arizer does not care about authorized sellers.

You can buy it from ebay, if something goes wrong you might have to send it back to arizer (in canada) if the seller wont exchange it. I know puffitup and planetvape both will take care of you in the return period but im not sure (and would doubt) you could talk to them 1+ year later and get a new arizer solo if something went wrong.

So to be honest I would just buy from ebay. Or if you feel better with one of the two stores try to price match, I know puffitup has a price match policy and I did have luck asking them.

EDIT: Just make sure you register it when you get it. And hold onto the receipt. In general the solo is a very rugged unit but its always better to be safe than sorry.

I would suggest buying a new one ....jk
The warranty is 2 years on the unit .
But only 1 year on the battery , so as I said earlier ,
what do you have once the battery dies ?
Room decor ?

Some people have had their solo for years and still good. And if you have basic skills there is a relativily easy way to change the battery.

No dont worry about M107 vs the other ones. Just make sure they say M107 or say newest 2013 model. I actually wouldnt pay more for a M107 and would prefer a newer one since the battery has been sitting on the m107

Whats your reason for wanting the PAX down the road? I can only think of one reason to get it and even then hopefully there will be better ones coming soon.

That's actually $ 4 more than Randy at Puffitup.com ...plus goodies .
And most of us can vouch for good customer service from him also .
Go with PIU . they have the latest models .

And what I meant earlier was ;
It's stupid to offer the 2 year warranty .
Once the battery dies , what are you going to ask to be fixed under warranty ?

I'm so picky about taste.
Once I had my first hit with the SOLO I quit searching and my flower vaping is primarily with the SOLO.
I have a hard time understanding people who vape with devices that make the flowers taste like popcorn?
Why not just burn one?

I agree. The only thing the pax has on the solo is the stealth factor. Even then I would hope there will be a better vape out soon that can over throw the pax in the stealth department.

Also Greenmile1332 some food for thought (while im on the subject of stealth). Black will be more stealthy than silver.

I have a question...each time i use the solo i get a little pulling & uneasy feeling in my chest. does that happen to you guys too? is that normal? is it because of the draw resistance that gives the pulling feeling in the chest?

For 160$ for a solo, you can't go wrong Greenmile1332!!

solo is under $130 on ebay now! just make sure you buy from a trusted authorized seller & you should be good.

No I do not get that feeling. I can remember when I first got it I did have some stress in my upper diaphragm but I quickly learned to chill out with my draw speed. Just inhale slower.

Nope, the solo is a gret vape-bong unit.
If I could only have 1 portable, it'd be the solo.

I never use the PA, as I've got home units more appropriate for my usage, but it's a solid choice if you plan on using the solo as your primary home vape.

I prefer the freer flow of a modern log (WychWood, underdog, hot pod), or my LSV when at home.
The increased flow of those vapes lets all my fancy percs fire more fully, but the solo gives the same great output of vapor, just with less of that bubble stacking I love so much ;)

Bummer. Most likely drying it out will fix it, electronic parts can usually take water just fine (noting to dissolve). Once the water is all gone the small currents caused by contamination (pure water is a good insulator actually) go way down.

A classic drying is to use dry rice. I'd take the cover off (four screws on the bottom, slide it off the bottom and front panel going up) and put it in a big zip lock bag with some dry rice (in the past I've toasted the rice to be sure it's really dry, not wishing to eat it afterwards it doesn't matter). Put it in a warm place for several days and try again with fresh rice. I once fixed a video camera this way that took a couple of weeks with checks every few days before it showed any life.

If it doesn't work, clean all the rice grains out and put the cover on and you're no worse off (except the lost rice.....).

Good luck.

so for overall efficiency, taste, rips and just what a stoner wants to spend his money on the Solo with a GonG and a water tube of some sort would be a better start up set than just the pax a by itself, or even maybe a Pax with that silicon tubing converter for a water piece as well....

The vapor blunt 2.0 looks kool but is a lotttt of friggin money.

I really liked the Pax during this entire search, but as it gets closer to ordering I am thinking about going for the Solo with the tube.....i smoke a lot in my bed and just at the house.. decisions. decisions. need2justgetvapingalready

Just a note on the rice, I read recently that rice only really absorbs moisture it's in contact with, it doesn't draw moisture out, so it might be a bit quicker than just drying, but not necessarily better than just jetting it air dry thoroughly.

There is also some dust/other residues that could potentially be problematic, but that risk is pretty tiny.

Some kind of designed for the task desiccant would be ideal, but not necessarily readily available.

Like I said from what I have heard the solo beats the pax in everyway except in the stealth factor. If your going to be vaping in public and places then the pax is better to some degree. But taste, effiecientcy, and cloud production seems to be in favor of the solo; oh yeah you dont have to clean it so often either.

Search this thread there are some people who sold their pax to buy the solo.

For sure it's not magic, but my understanding is it's the vapor it ties up. That's why the warm part, you need to evaporate the water and get it to condense on the rice and be absorbed over time.

The trick is, I think, getting the relative humidity under 100% and keeping it there long enough to get the circuits back in normal ranges.

Part of that is getting the unit opened up (covers off) so the rice can get as close as possible and there's less metal around. Maybe.

I've used rice several times over the years, usually with success. The down side is not really negative, that is there's not any risk of making it worse if you're careful.

Like Chicken Soup, "can't hurt, might help"?
