Fully open! Awhile ago I saw George mention ripping the DV hard fully open, tried it and never looked back, except a bit of feathering here and there. Sounds counterintuitive, but by George it works. Jerry busts a lung testing it with his new M in the vid. Anyhow I'll trust your judgement from there!
Hay I love mine wide open to sometimes like a little more resistance hints why a said a extra large with full adjustment that way all ranges are covered . The DV team really puts thought in to air flow if you have a 2021 m swap ends the air flow is completely different. And not saying I will never get 1 lol

I missed the 2017, as I wasn't vaping then. Didn't hear about vaping until 2018, so I'm making up for lost time. Big regrets about not having the 2017, but it's not like I'm collecting, or anything. Might as well grab the M+, that way when they come out in a color collection, I'll know if I want to buy them.
The ones I use mostly are my Vong and the M that's in the drawer. Not sure what year, but I had two of this one, so it got thrown in the drawer to use. By now I have two of some others, but my Dynavap need organizing, and I really won't have time until the dog dies.
Looks like time to get the M+ is coming up, so I'll just check that off the list here in a few days.
Lots of lost time.

I got my first DV in a DDave suite in I think 2018 (it was an '18 tip & glass WPAs) and I switched over more or less right then. I really liked it. Got a '19 M when they came out and then I discovered Ed's stems, spinning mouthpieces, Omnis, Vongs! and so on. I have way too many now, but you will find not one regret among them.

I'm no collector I only have 3 m with Omni tip favorite pocket carry a techrinic ,🤦‍♂️ and a glass tube I use as a home made WP adapter I use with canatrates as I have found it to be my favorite way in the lat 2 months. I needed a cap so took advantage of a parts sale and picked up the techrinic as a spare wish I would have just got another m !

I'm nowhere near having way too many. I thought I had a few, but it really isn't that many. I've also got more caps than tips, so I guess it's caps on my 420 List. And a newer Vong. Use mine all the time, so obviously I need another to reduce that time. Don't want to wear it out.
And I have more stems than tips! I hate that. It's uneven.
I picture the untipped and uncapped stems languishing in their drawer, and my unmatched tips (capped and uncapped) languishing in their drawer, and at night when I'm sleeping, they come alive and get out of their drawers, and try to get together like some weird cross between Toy Story, DynaPorn, and what's that doll that comes alive and kills people? , but then somehow, with mind control, they motivate me , and I am compelled to online shop for vapes and vape equipment, against my will and under threat of attack.
That's when it's a good time to have a 420 List. Otherwise, you just buy anything.

Monk Debate

The monks do be debatin’
I only have a 2019 M, one of the wood vongs, and a glass Charlie stem. I’ve always wanted an Omni but the price kept me away. Is it really that much better of an experience over the M? I should probably wait for the 420 sale to get one.

Idk, it's a big price gap. I love my '21 Omnis, glad I have them, but in terms of value, I think the performance difference between the older Ms and the older Omnis was bigger than the current lineup. I think they all work great but more alike than the older ones were. If you think you'd like one, you probably will. They're good with flavor, feel good in the hand, spin really well, pump out vapor, work great at a half-bowl. I'd wait to see what kind of break you can get, unless you want a green one, then I'd check and ask if they'll have it then.

Thank you for the perspective! I’m debating between that and an Anvil or a Sticky Brick for a more convection butane experience.

Just received a new tip and ac. The ac sits so tight and drags tip out of the stem. Have to hold the bottom of the tip to get it off. Even then I have to use alot of strength, wiggle and twisting. I've been twisting the cap on the tip for 10 minutes just to see if it'll loosen up, but it's quite the same. Some titanium on the tip got shaved off in the process, so maybe it will work with some more tear and use!?

As it is right now when still hot, I imagine I have to use a leather ring in both hands to get it off. And maybe when some gunk has built up the tip wil sit better in the stem preventing the slide off.

Has anyone got theirs working adequate?

Its a known issue with the armor cap on some Ti tips, call them up and they'll swap it

Really, where did you read this?

I sent a message to Simrell. Hopefully they can swap it😇
Saw a few posts, there's one on reddit now titled Dynavap CD rocks or something to that effect
Hours armored cap actually deformed hits Ti tip and that's what Dynavap told him

Problem fixed. Used something round, a little bigger than the diameter of the tip and pressed the inside of the cap. Now it works like a charm.

Feeling dumb for what I did earlier and stressing about it .. Forgot that internet and Google exist for a reason. Had to make a Reddit account to access the Dynavap thread though. Been avoiding Reddit because of Dynavap and Vaporents being too time consuming and repetitive.. eh, now I'm here 😅 Thanks @tinctorus for helping out 🙌

Lol might as well just get the new m lmfao

If they ever do become available as parts lol and 55 for tip 75 for tip cap and
If they start pricing SS tips at $55 then Id probably been done with new purchases outside of replacement caps as needed. I already have more than I really need so it would be an easy choice to stick with what I have.

Any suggestions on how to make the wood on this gifted vong look new again? I've been soaking it in butchers block oil but still has dried out grains. Is this something I should sand down and any recommendation on what grit?

I was also thinking about adding a little coloring to it you think some red wine soaked would do it or maybe food coloring? Just looking to jazz it up a little bit in this particular device does come apart. Any tips or suggestions would be awesome

I have been unable to uncaptivate the AC in a way that makes it usable for me. I have tried everything I have here. The result is the AC sitting in the parts drawer... :(

Is the lighter colored scratch/chip what you are referring to as the dried out grains?
In theory the dry grains should soak up any oil you try to condition them with, perhaps the natural oil in that part of the wood are working against that process?

I couldn't understand if you were saying this device does or doesn't come apart.

As far as hand sanding wood goes.

Any sanding you do will quickly change the look of cut or routed edges, they will no longer have that clean cut or sharp look.

Don't go below 120 grit paper, as rougher/lower grits will be too aggressive and may also cause scratches that you will just have to sand out with a finer paper. I would start with 240 grit just to be safe.

The initial sanding you do will be taking off the oil coating that is on the wood and will gum up your paper quickly, don't be shy to change out the paper as it clogs.

Sand along the grain, not across it.

As you are sanding you are sculpting, you are making a bespoke piece, one of a kind.
Sometimes blemishes and mistakes in wood cause one to throw that piece in the burn pile, but sometimes they become that most beautiful and cherished feature.

Can't help on the wine and food coloring side of things. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. :spliff:

Like most of you, I'm pretty disappointed in what I've seen so far with the M+. Only thing I like the looks of so far is the airport. Although the I really like the 2021 stems, I'm not the the biggest fan of the airports and prefer the pre 2020 styles.
