The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

Happy to report that the suggestion from several members to pop the screen out of the Angus WPA has definitely provided enhanced flavor. Still not quite where it should be but a noticeableimprovement. Thanks! I remain a fan of the device and it's in the top 3 in my rotation.

The Angus requires a "matched pair" of batteries. If you have previously used these batteries singly then you should use a different pair.
Requires a matched pair? I had thought that using a matched pair has more to do with good battery life, etc. and not so much the performance/function of the vape. If one had a pair of very good batteries of same brand & spec, both fully charged, would they not perform as well as as a matched pair?
Or would performance (or the device itself?) suffer at some point as they discharge "unevenly?"

Sorry if this has been addressed, apologies to @RustyOldNail for not having this in my battery knowledge book...but I'm wondering if this is actually specific to Angus or simply 'good practice' for battery use in general (which I do assume, but often disregard on my box mod by wantonly imposing my will).

Definately battery life and performance aspects take a hit in unmatched pairs. If you buy your cells in modest bulk and treat them well the difference between matched and unmatched (except in name/type) is probably minimal but I wouldn't want to use a trashed "pass-thru use" cell with a new cell. Remember, we're using the term "matched cells" pretty loosely here. We match cells by simply pairing 2 of the same cells whereas true matching matches cell specs beyond simple run time.

I can not tell you how it may affect the Angus. I can tell you that accidentally I put a non-matched pair into a mod for a 510 vape and it did not work correctly.

Thanks for these.
So, not simply "good" practice but for safety as well.

This is all pretty new to me.
I had smoked my herb since 1973. Got my first vape ( Xvape Ruffo) in August and havent smoked since then.
Now I am looking to add a secnd vape and was thinking of the Angus or Tinymight 2 but the TM2 at 350 is a bit pricey for me.
Thank you for all the good info.

This is better addressed in Ask FC, because we're not supposed to go into comparisons too much here in the vaporizer threads. Maybe start a thread asking Angus vs TM2?
I will say that landing on a Roffu as your first vape was fortunate! Combustion Fucker!
My personal choice will be to wait things out before jumping in with the relatively new Angus, while TM has some track record at least.

I’d wait to get the Angus as I think there are improvements that can make it significantly better

I think the English gentlefolk Vaporfiend (? I may have the name wrong, sorry) did a youTube review/comparisov between the two. Although I don't know, functionally the two are awfully similar if you neuter Angus (air > intake > heater coil > hot air > herb > you getting happy VS air > intake > heater coil & big balls> hot air > herb > you getting happyl

You may find the 420 Vape Zone video of TM vs Mighty useful. Since the user experience of Angus and Mighty are so similar. It is what led me to get a Mighty, due to the easier user experience. And Angus removed my two gripes about the Mighty: favor and lack of swappable batteries.

And people weigh flavor, size of hits, user experience and other features differently.

But yes the TM2 has many fans here. For you to decide if it might be 1.75 times better.

@Old Stoner1958 Congratulations on kicking combustion and props to the Ruffo!

I'm loving my Angus, it currently sits just next to my Tinymight on my desk. Although the Angus and Tinymight are both convection heater vapes(you pull hot air from the heat source through the load as opposed to transferring heat to the material via contact with the oven surface), I think the Angus shares more similarities with the Mighty than the TM2.
As I've posted, I prefer my Angus far above my Crafty(haven't dusted it off in a while.) They, and the Mighty, are session vapes(the oven is on until you turn it off).
The Tinymight does session and on-demand(oven is only on during the hit). The Tinymight is more expensive(but worth it.)
If budget is an issue, I'd lean toward the Angus, you will love it!
If on-demand is a priority, the Tinymight will be your best buddy.
As you've likely read here, the Angus has a mouthpiece upgrade about to drop so I'd wait a few days/weeks(?) or just reach out to Scott @VGOODIEZ
He led me to both my Tinymight and Angus. He's a fount of information, good vibes, and sells both units.

Best of luck, either choice is going to make for a Merry Christmas.

PS Either way you go, pick up a couple of pairs of batteries for these vampires. These two vapes are responsible for the deaths of countless innocent 18650s across the globe.
Don't be left without power with either of these two beasts, you will regret it!

Yeah off topic comparisons but whatever if you want to pay less for the TM2 it is possible internationally or you could save by getting the TM1 instead, both are on demand with full temp range dial, but the Angus is session based with preset temp settings... The heaters are also nothing alike, and I find the vapor quality nothing alike, so you need to decide what type of vape you want (your Roffu is essentially already in between them) regardless of the price...
