This is true. The precision is one degree, Farenheit or Celsius. The question however, was about accuracy.

Until someone (paging @Stu) tests it with a temperature probe, we can only judge the accuracy by the output as I descibed above. Even if it is tested, that would only represent a single device. You'd need to measure several to see how consistent they are. We already know that silver units are different from black ones, but how does that affect the heater temperature? Where is the temperature sensor located inside the V3 Pro? Is it measuring the heater or atempting to measure the load? How does the temperature change during a draw? How many degrees does it shift during a light draw as opposed to a strong one? For me, here's the important question: does it matter?

You can probably see where I'm going here. I don't think it matters at all.

All very true!
Even with a Fluke meter, choosing the proper temperature probe, where and how it’s mounted, makes a difference too.
I’ve studied many of these subjects in the past, and it’s understandable why “temperature”, is such a misunderstood component. That’s why your advice is perfect for most, that don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.

Nice writing haha. Thanks, it makes perfect sense. We'll see how that med-patient choose to proceed, but I'm sure glad I don't need that accuracy XD

Single-digit control can matter if you want to adjust for your own preferences (temp stepping), many vapes with only 3 or 4 temp settings can often miss what a person wants. :2c:
I agree, but he talked about accuracy. So, even if the v3p isn't accurate, you can still find a temp that you get the results you want (even if it's not the real temp) and temp step from there. Similar to TCR at box mods.

I think you miss my point. Because there are so many variables that you can't control, there is no reason to have more than three settings: light (~160°C), moderate (~190°C), and heavy (~220°C). Allowing you to set 170°C as opposed to, say, 175°C might make you feel more in control but the fact is that the hit you just took changed the equation far more than a five degree temperature adjustment could.

Bah no, over time you get pretty consistent in the way you prepare the load and how you draw. Yet there are variations in strains and moisture/curing that create a need to adjust the temperature up or down on a case by case basis. It's easier to bump the temperature a few degrees for those times than to adjust your draw, making you huff more and getting short-breathed for instance. Of course you could, but it's not comfortable, and clearly less comfortable than just clicking the temp setting button a few times.

Every hit changes the moisture level and the mix of active components left in the load. Every. Hit. Sure, you might want to compensate by adjusting the temperature setting but again, my point is that there is no need for one degree precision or accurate temperature measuremnt.

This is getting way off topic. Further comments along this line should probably be in https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vaporization-temperature-dependent-selection-of-effects.1637/.

I have a silver one and now I feel like I want to try a black one for science but there’s no way I can do that to my wallet
The differences are likely in the new models, regardless of color. The difference is the silver came in later, so with silver you know you're getting a newer model but with black it could be new or old, depending on how old your supplier's stock is. Pity they don't make the versions obvious up-front, but doing so would create a sales nightmare...

I have both a Silver Gradient and a Black V3 Pro. I bought the Silver Gradient first.

I cannot distinguish ANY difference between the two. I would not be able to tell the difference if blindfolded.

I agree with @Thunderbelch - If there are differences it would be based on when they were made.

the correct reply would have been something like…

“You can’t put a price on scientific breakthroughs. If you did, where would be as a society? Of course you need a black one “

but you’ve convinced me that my silver one is just fine by itself
In germany they sell it as cuboo and call it the " latest Version "

I own a black and silver one and see not really difference between them - i think i am not sensitive enough

Received my silver gradient v3 yesterday, absolutely gorgeous, immediately started charging it up and as soon as it was full I put it through it's paces.

All I can say is wow! This is literally the perfect vape for in between online video game matches, I can't help myself to re-queue immediately after a game ends and none of the other vapes I own allow me to fully extract before the next match (in a satisfying and effortless way).

I am also very pleased with the battery life, I didn't have to pay attention to it at all until today, I would estimate 8-12 bowls since a full charge yesterday?

Heat up time is fantastic as well which helps in my use case

Was surprised at how small it is in person, my hands dwarf this little guy, easily will be used as a portable for me

Overall so far would 100% recommend and at the cost, will probably give one as a gift!

Just as a data point, I have the silver one that came with a glass mouthpiece, so I assume I have a new model, but the draw does seem pretty open and I cover and uncover some of the holes as I draw to adjust the strength/thickness of the vapor.

On the one hand, it could be the case that different people view the same draw differently, but it also may be true that the silver does not automatically have a newer tightened draw. I'd be very surprised if the draw was previously looser than my version.

You raise a good point. I do tend to almost use some of the bottom holes as a carb very often. It would be almost problematic to have a much looser draw than it already presents. But I’m still curious….

The "universal adapter" doesn't fit any of my artisan 14mm glass, plus it looks stupid and is not a one-size fits all solution whatsoever. @PPN Just stick with interchangeable glass adapter pieces, or offer reducers/adapters. Many actually want the 18mm size because of the greatly larger bore hole and airflow, those adapters finishing in 10mm tapers do not offer that at all..
... but it will be still restricted cause the actual connector/base system hole size... I believe company may be agree to release an optionnal 18mm glass joint you can use in the same connector used for the 14mm glass adapter... but probably not for a whole new connector+18mm adapter , too much hassles for a little sales I believe...
So I ordered another battery and a charger. Can anyone here confirm I can use a 3000 MAH, as most 18650’s seem to be interchangeable as long as they have the casing…..
Yes if the discharge rate being at least 10A
I bought a brand called Epoc
I usually recommend to stick with reputable brands only (Sony, Samsung and LG but it looks like Molicel to be good also)
Good to know!
@PPN Found what I was looking for. The oonnectors interchange between 14 and 18mm.

With our existing base system it's pretty similar, hope we can offer that option in the future.
Hi all, I have ordered this vape and cannot await its arrival... Anyone know where I can get a glass WPA for it in Canada? I am about to pay 50$ for one from the us :D Cheers!
Please keep sharing here about your Xmax V3Pro experience!
I can't remember if it was discussed here before, but how accurate the v3p's temp reading in your opinions?
When it comes to convection heating the accuracy depends a lot of conditions, ambient t°, draw speed, ambient moisture, packing style, strain's moisture, strain itself and battery condition... this is means when all this conditions match the lab conditions the unit is accurate... although this is doesn't happen in real life. You can consider the unit's t° as an indication, although, if it doesn't match your liking, change the settings ;)

Does anyone else put an additional screen at the bottom of their bowl to prevent stuffs like kief and dust getting in the oven? I'm a little bit paranoid on it, but over long time use can the V3 get clogged from too many things getting inside the unit without a way of coming out?

I did this too, just in case. Also replaced the stock mouthpiece screen with a fine mesh screen, now the ceramic cooling piece stays much cleaner.

I don't use an extra screen but I use dosing capsules in part to keep the device clean and less smelly, which seems to work pretty well so far. The Fury Edge capsules fit pretty nicely in the V3.

Hi, @thunderstealer1337 , I totally understand you, although I think you said to order an extra Glass mouthpiece with your replacement stock mouthpiece explaining probably why they (we) charged you with S&H, it's not nice but it's probably the reason. In another hand this is doesn't explain why you had to pay through Paypal with any proof of purchase... I already contacted Staff to ask for explanations and to complain about that shaddy situation, hope this is will change, I will try my best for a best support, I think they aren't accustomed to deal with final customers since we are used to deal with retailers but since we decided to offer that sort of support we must to do it well!
Thank you for sharing, this is will help us to improve our customer support. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just saw this and wanted to clarify, I paid $15 for shipping of the rma mouthpiece only. Below is the copied email message, I did change the PayPal email since it was some random person's email NOT associated to xmax or topgreen
Just got the feedback from QC team, pls send the freight charge of USD15 to xyz@123.com through PayPal and send us the screenshot of proof. Then will arrange replacement for a new mouthpiece & release shipment after receipt of the freight charge. Thank you.
