Discontinued RBT Milaana 1, 2, 3

Are there any steps to removing the button besides unscrewing the wires, removing the button, and shoving a new one in? Primarily, is there any glue I have to remove keeping the button in the body of the milaana, or can I just hit the button with a screwdriver until it comes out?

Just wing it and see if it still works with a couple of extra pieces laying around...lol In all seriousness, I am pretty sure there is a you tube video showing how to dissemble the Milaana.. Here is a link to the disassembly
Thank you for that video, I forgot about it. One last question--does anyone know where I can get a replacement for that toothed brass washer that assures contact between the brass pick and the nut on top? You can see it at 55 seconds in.

Thanks for all the help you've given me, everyone.

According to RBT in the Milaana 1 thread, it's a #6 washer, and it was silicone bronze I think. For posterity, I believe THIS will work.

Haven't even gotten my button yet and now there's around 1/16th of an inch of play in the glass. I don't think it's broken, just the epoxy failing in one part. Still works... Actually getting decent hits in 8 seconds now. Weird. I wanted to get ahead of it and fix it before it gets more broken, how easy is that? The disassembly guide isn't too hard but he just pops out the glass, I don't think it's epoxied in. Plus, how much glue do you put where?

Help would be appreciated, thanks. I know this is the epoxy used, correct?

I havent figured out a good non-destructive way to get the glass out if it doesnt want to come out. better to just wait for it to totally fail and fix it probably.

heads up to use that epoxy you also need a dispenser gun and disposable tips. it winds up being around $60 to get going. you can get a repair from unklmark or me for cheaper. I think someone also posted some kind of single use medical epoxy they bought and tried. it's not OEM, no idea long term performance or issues

Yes, but then I'd have to send it to you and wait, unless I wanted to spend $60 on priority shipping, and I've only ever done that twice in my life (one emergent situation, one to see if it was worth it... It isn't).

I'll get the gun. Thanks for the heads up though. What are some rough instructions? Just put it near the top of the glass, smush it in? It would seem that the hole in my milaana is ever so slightly too big.

Thanks for the help guys.

what i like to do is squirt some of the glue in a small puddle on a piece of cardboard and then use a toothpick to stir it a little bit to make sure it’s decently mixed and then use the toothpick to apply around the lip of the wood and then put the glass in. if you have one, it’s a good idea to use a small clamp to (lightly) hold it in place.

oh and def clean up the old glue as much as possible. i use a small flathead screwdriver to scrape it

Anyone still having issues with the button failing? 465/500 here and I believe my button has died. I have some replacements on the way, and hope that fixes her. Noticed that the stainless steel versions of the replacement buttons is hard to come by. Was seeing mostly black aluminum versions or out of stock all together. Anyone know if the black aluminum version will work? or where to hunt for the SS version?

Uh oh, I was really hoping I would never see this reported by a 425+ M3 unit. I've got 437 and now I feel like I should buy a replacement button for *when (not if) this failure happens to mine.

Buttons on the way, but my beloved laana is out of commission for the time being..
