Well, it actually can be used as a stand-alone stem, but it would probably be too harsh above level 3 to use that way... But yes the benefit is that you can connect to larger glass pieces, for cooling dry or with water, which is a different experience than using with the cooling unit. Since I am at home all the time now, I only use it this way with a WPA through glass j hooks, easier with less cleaning needed, and such flavorful vapor!
Stop telling everyone how flavorful your j hooks are? And the cleaning too! Lol..... man I wish they hadn't lost mine , shoot your were the reason I took the plunge on them. I'm sure it will up my love for my TM!

Yeah dude, message me, where are you located? There are a lot of places to order them, much more reliable than DHgate!

Hey man, I am also interested ordering them and located EU.

Sorry I can't really help you in the EU, like @AK47 AMI had asked me too, but I'm in the US so I have no idea where the best place is to order them from the EU... There are other threads about places to order in the EU / UK.

My big tip was that the Rogue Wax Works is selling glass 18 and 14 mm female j hooks at very reasonable price in his Etsy shop... He also makes phenomenal tools, but I don't know about his international shipping?

Ok I have 2 small shops with tobacco accessories near my work, I will take with me the connection adapter and we'll see.

Edit: is the shape J necessary? If I want to avoid bong, straight glass hook might also work?

Yeah jayhook is just kind of a catch-all term, you'll have to see what they have, you do want a good bend curve for cooling the vapor, that's why actually a full right angle bend is even more effective than a regular curved sherlock style j-hook... But yeah technically even a water tool will work without water in it, good idea to go over to the store and see what they have, find form factor you like, mouthpiece, air flow etc.

My replacement came with a battery. This is what is printed on the battery:

"FIRE HAZARD ! NOT FOR VAPE ! NEVER INSTALL, CARRY OR HANDLE !
INR 18650-30Q
SAMSUNG SDI
14 1"

What does this mean?

SEARCH for the treasure...
The only current brand battery offered through certified dealers that are advertised for VAPORS, are the Molicel brand. All other major brand lithium battery brands are not meant nor marketed for devices outside of battery packs, or electric cars etc. Those companies don’t want or need to sell individual batteries and the legal issues that follow when used improperly, as some have done..... BOOM... hence the more and more LEGAL DISCLAIMERS!

I can’t use my TM above 4/5 without burning the fuck out of herb. Is this normal? Or is mine running hot?
I’m new to the TM but feel this isn’t something I’m doing, but perhaps it is?

So I went to the shops and there is not hook available, they only have pipes and bongs that fit my adapter. Do you think a bong is worth it? or too much hassle?

Do you mean scorching, or actual combustion? It sounds wrong either way. At 6.5 to 7 you might expect to start getting the dark ring on the surface of your load, but not really scorching unless you go too long and slow. 8 and above and all bets are off. At 4 or 5 mine would take 2 or 3 hits to even get light brown.
Does it vape evenly if you turn it down low enough? If it is calibrated too high but you still get the setting you want albeit lower down the dial, no real problem, unless you can't get complete extraction or low temp hits you may sometimes want.

mine starts to scorch the bottom of the bowl at 7, I really can’t go much above 6.5. Massive clouds on 5.5.
Fucking awesome this thing but it took me some days to get my technique down. Draw speed has a big effect on the heat dispersed to the load. A slow steady draw works best for me...

@Shit Snacks , you were absolutely right... I’m stoked

Regarding the beeswax smell: It has been a few days and it is already much better. What seemed to help a lot was removing the stem while the TM was still hot and storing the unit without it. This might help to let evaporate unwanted smells, imo.

Well it depends on the bong, just a plain straight tube? Then it could also depend on the percolator in the downstem... I would say yes worth it, but I would specifically look for a small bong at least?? Can use it dry too.

In other news my TM #2 just arrived (it shipped just over a week after I ordered, very fast DHL even came a day early!) and I must say I am quite impressed just looking at it... The fit and finish is all around phenomenal compared to my first from new year's eve 2020, I do smell the linseed oil, but the wood is so smooth and nice out of the box this time! Dial seems very secure, screws are flush, all glass intact (and thick, for wpa and extra long stem and short stem)... I see the inner tube is now an anodized aluminum, so the old one must have been the heavier steel? The anodized aluminum on the top and bottom of the new one, is a little more gray, less shiny than my first TM, matches the new tube... It also came with a smaller pouch for the TM individually, inside the larger pouch with accessories. The new wooden instruction cards also help protect the TM in transit, minimal wrapping used, but everything was packed up very secure!

I will of course report back after I clean it, and use it, posting photos, etc....

I thought the NEWER TM’s, came with the SS sleeve. My “older” one is aluminum.

Hmm someone else just said that to me, but my old one is unpolished plain metal, I also thought it was aluminum, but the new one is clearly anodized aluminum, it matches the same gray aluminum that's on the top and bottom of the TM... Also feels pretty lightweight, haven't taken out the tube from my old one to compare directly, but from my memory yeah that one was heavier I think... I did get a couple of those spare glass tubes, but I think those are to replace the glass behind the metal, not to use instead of it... Unless I'm mistaken?

Normal? Depends on who you ask. If you were to ask me, I'd say it was perfectly normal because that's almost exactly what mine does. I start the dial at 3 for flavor, then work up to 4 in a couple of hits. If I go to 5, I get popcorn taste at best, scorching at worst. Above 5 will combust. So I never go above 4.

Our dials are all different, so don't take anyone else's numbers as gospel. You have to figure out your own.

There is a button-pushing sequence that calibrates the dial up or down the scale, but the TM people only give that out as needed. The sequence is out in the wild though, if you want to look for it. I didn't bother, since I don't care if my useable range is numbered lower than someone else's. As long as your useable range is not inhibited by the very top or bottom of the dial, you're good.

It’s in the thread unless they removed it!

I believe it was posted herein however unsure if it was removed. And now I’m curious: if I start a fresh load lower than 5 I barely get any vapor. I’ve experienced this with many different strains. I use the stock short stem and cooling unit too; load is set back but from the edge of the stem and it’s usually as deep as it is wide. Above 5 I get nice clouds. It would be nice to enjoy a bit more flavor at the lower temp range with some vapor and a little more than I’ve been getting.

So if I wanted to search for the Lost Ark of calibrations and attempt a procedure that shall not be named, which way would I want to calibrate it - up or down? :peace:

P.S. those with multiple Tinymights are giving me bad thoughts. Love this vape!
