That makes perfect sense. I just tried a smaller load tamped slightly and noticed it expanded as you said and got closer to the tip, but didn't touch or scorch. Nice.

Zippos w/ lighter fluid I found to leave the flavor of lighter fluid in my otherwise healthy lungs. So
i moved on.
But the inserts, now the inserts may enhance the legacy of Zippos.
Yeah ... been meaning to pick up one of the butane inserts to give it a try and see how long they hold up ... have too many old classic zippos to not give it a go ...

I will never support a certain vapcap pirate, and those “stabilized” stems make me url, but fuck, some legit wooden stems from a legit dude that is a real bro, can’t beat the feeling of supporting one of the og’s.. still need to grab some from the other artists, but still will never support one of the biggest pirates in the game. 
to those I promised a stem long ago, I’m still good for it, but need to focus on relocating fully and family still. Now started adding ss liners, and a complete new way of turning..

I've been going back and forth between a 7 fin LE and a 19M SS tip on my shell shock. As it generally turns out, I still tend to favor the 19 tips.
Although that set-up had a bad turn today. I had it loaded with some sugar wax in organic cotton, and had already taken a few hits off it with an IH. I knew it must have cool clicked and even put it on the magnet for a moment just to be sure. But I'm heating it up and up and up and fuck. First time I ever combusted the cotton
Now the whole damn thing needs an iso soak.
... and I have to add that I know I'm medicated right now, but I just looked up at @Ghosts avatar, and I could have sworn that ape head just fucking winked at me.

Same here but I've only got one old Zippo. I'm leaning towards the single flame.

So I got my free 7 fin in recently and its pretty awesome. Wondering though, is anyone else missing some grooves in the bowl to adjust the CCD? Wondering if this was a defect or design decision.

aw i can't see what you mean ... i loved the 20M so much i set it free (it's now appreciated by a friend) but i remember it having 2 grooves .. as well as the promo material stating as much

He means you can slide the CCD between 100-50%. Start at the 50% position and by pushing down gently on the CCD with a condenser you can literally slide it to where you want it due to the SS being stiffer than Ti it grips without the need for a groove. Mine is set at 75% on my 20M tip.
Looking at my old 7-fin tips, they have one more groove than the ones from the newest batch. I'm guessing it was a design decision. The difference was so small between the first two grooves in the old tips this shouldn't make a difference for most people, though.

Does this imply that in order to slide position a screen securely in the 77-fin tip, an SS screen should replace the Ti one it came with?
Works for the M20, but a step- back improvement for the 77.

My gen 4 7 fin tips work as intended and I have no issue setting a Ti CCD to 50/75% in them - I just practised the technique over and over back in 2017 when I got my Omnivap. I didn't sign up for the 77 tip as I thought it was overpriced at the time so cannot advise either way. If Dynavap had been transparent and said we have old 7 fin seconds and we want rid, I would have happily bought one for a reasonable price even though I live in London. Next time... @vandalizedbythelotus - I get you don't have a 20-M tip to look at so this likely moot. The '20 improvement in utilizing an 'infinitely adjustable CCD" meant the full bore of usable setback is 5/16" or 8mm, whatever their spec is. This is the range where the CCD will remain flexed in place. The 'groove' you see is actually a shoulder where the bore is slightly bigger to clear the CCD diameter. My question was in regard to knowing if DV translated this same feature in the same way they handled the 20-M tip on the 77.77 7F-tips. However, I get it, a lot of people mistake the first 'feature' inside the bowl of the '20 tips as a groove. It takes a close look to see it is just a change in diameters.
