toke down Babylon
@StringTheorista Well, there ya' go. Thank you. Break out tools. Aw, snap!

That's why there seems to a noticeable (to others, not to me) in airflow difference between old / new. I thought the captive was just a good ol' cap with a little indentation. I did know they were actually DIFFERENT. Cool. Great info. Thanks

Hey, does anyone have a super accurate scale to weigh them?

Question for @TommyDee (or anyone else who might know) which tip weighs the most?

Still getting used to the Tectonic (and honestly could use a demo video or instructions for it. Lots of adaptability for airflow, but I'd like a little guidance. ShellShock is more straightforward experience. But since Tectonic only showed up yeserday I want to wait until I'm more experienced with it to comment further. Tho I will say I got some great clouds from it.

Thanks for the tip, Dude.

Guess my curiosity is getting the best of me, gonna spring for my first 2021 purchase.
Hope it doesnt shake the San Andreas too much.
Happy I Love You GIF by pikaole

Wonder which tip will fit.....

When a regular condenser is used on the assassin, there is indeed a
Gap between tip and condenser end. :hmm:
Does that gap make any noticeable difference though? 🤭 Seems an omission that the retailer (here) doesn't mention it when they state that the Assassin works with 'all standard condensers'.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I have no idea what the tip weight variation is.

That's what she said.

Thanks for the tip, Dude.

and again

I guess I should say something DV related. 🤔

Make sure you lube your DV tip.

Don't try to force it dry. It might get stuck.

Why is my load so often black at the front, near the cap, but when I go to dump it I see lighter green material below? Using a 2018 stock M. I'd love to get another click but combustion of the front of the load wold be certain.

For those who, like @FlyingLow , like open airflow, I suppose its full bore ahead. You can tweak the flow with condenser length ( or distance from tip ).

While the new 7-fin tip can be murder on wood VC stems, the latest incarnation mates well with the Assassin. Boom💥

Eagle single flame. I think I may just be heating too aggressively at times and/or loading too much.

yeah, moving in the condenser a few mm's seems a good solution, as below:

Airflow on the assassin is wide open—it has a large airport, and it is also a couple mm longer than an M stem, so if you insert your condenser flush to the mouthpiece end, there’s a large space between the end of the condenser and the tip. I have my condenser pushed in a few mm from the MP end

SomnusViduus

you want the wizard or the skull?
shell shock is out for delivery now.
i ordered an azuriuM cap to match and just realized i spent as much on a cap as i did on the shellshock lol.
at least it'll look pretty.
speaking of caps, i myself am partial to the captive cap, but probably because the only cap i've ever lost was og.
slipped right off and vanished...

hello, maybe a very noob question, but it it possible to use vapcap with regular lighter or with zippo? i would like to get a regular vapcap, but i dont have many jet lighters laying around (on the contrary i have many regular lighter and few zippo lighters for cigars). i guess it is possible, but how long would it take with zippo to heat it up?

Forget zippos.
My guess is that you will be getting a “torch”. Then a few— many, following thereafter.

Until you decide to burn your bridges ( i see an induction heater, in your future ). ☄️

but is it necessary to forget them? :D i like a zippo lighter in my pocket. even though i never smoked cigarettes and zippo is unusable for joints (in my opinion it makes the taste very different) i used to wear one in my pocket for many years. it is the coolest fidget toy i found to date :D. and it also provides me with fire if im out camping or i just need to set something on fire (like a fireplace, not a building). so it would be a plus point for vapcap if it worked somehow with zippo.

Zippo makes torch inserts

I find this happens most when I have it overloaded. If you brush off or pack down the end so the load isn’t right up against the cap that should help a lot in avoiding an overcooked end. If it happens you can also brush off the overcooked stuff and use the rest again.

Green in the middle probably means it’s too tightly packed or a very fine grind (which also restricts the air paths through the load).

It also seems to happen a little if each heat cycle is fast and doesn’t get good heat deep inside, but the other reasons are more likely I think.

Like @KidFated. said, a torch insert for a zippo shell is probably the best way to go. A regular zippo can work, but it will heat slowly and leave a lot of soot on your cap.

Edit: Fixed typos.

I'm not sure if someone made a similar post before, but I thought this was interesting.

Three generations of 4th gen 7-fin ti tips:

Top: 7-fin tip from the latest batch a month ago
Middle: Limited Edition 7-fin tip from a couple years ago
Bottom: oldest from an Omnivap I purchased in 2017

The bud at that end of the tip especially if full or overloaded expands and presses against the metal end of the cap when heated and this direct contact cooks the bud turning it black.
I had the same issue so I always slightly underfill now and don't get scorching anymore. Also after 2 heat cycles blow the bud into your hand, mix it around, put back in and vape again this way you will get full extraction and no green bits leftover!

You can buy twin flame Zippo torch inserts on eBay for about $25-30. I have one and it works well.

You can have the best of both worlds, both a torch, and your beloved zippo:

What the dudes said above, a Zippo butane insert

Single/double jets
