I did not tell Scott. That was my choice. The paint really does not affect performance imo and I really don't want Scott to spend money sending me a replacement for something pretty minor. I'd just look like someone who wants a free stem. Not my intention.

But for Dynavap, I DID inform them. I sent pics but they wanted a video despite me informing them of my inconvenience. I went through some trouble to send them what they wanted. Although I said the replacement isn't necessary, I'd still like some feedback on my issue. Did I do something wrong? I'm guessing not since there hasn't been a reply for 3 days. If it's not my fault, can I at least have some assurance that this is just a random occurrence? Vapcaps might be relatively cheaper but I can't be gambling with them for future purchases? I'm sure that's not too much to ask?

I had an even more ridiculous encounter with CS on black friday. They tried to tell me I received a $7 discount on shipping when I didn't. I knew shipping is the same cos I checked weeks before. Long story short, It became quite embarrassing when they tried to cover one lie with another. Kinda dumb cos it's a lie that would expose itself after a day! I called BS and no more replies lol.

Not gonna let any of this bother me. Moving on.

@Vapefanatic Did the cap with the ding perform normal? Also, what IS your heating style?

And, by the way... your name is perfect vape 'fanatic'. I love it. Dude, you inspired me look more closely at the top of my caps - they're beat to holy hell. It looks like they've been stored in a tool box with heavy use. BUT, they click perfect every time.

You got me to thinking, "how did my caps get so beat up?". I thought I was fanatical about my vapcaps. Hell, I even try to not even touch the cap at all to avoid any oils from my fingers altering the patina. Meanwhile, it looks look I'm using my cap to hammer in nails compared to yours. Damn, you stepped it up another level. Respect.

Both my IHs have pressure sensitive switches and they have been kinda hard on my caps, but they mostly still work fine. There are some exceptions.

I heat with a cheap single flame torch. Waiting on an IH and a log Vape that fits the tips. The Vapcap still seems to work though.

It's not that the tip is beat up that bothers me. Its the fact that it looked like that after just a week of regular use. Never left my desk. I sent Dynavap an email cos it was unusual compared to my other vapcaps. Scratches are fine but this looked like a crack with part of a layer chipped off.

You getting a Woodscents log?
Not at all. I'm getting two or maybe even three units of Heat Island from Alan. All are the 7/16 sized ones (larger). A regular heater + an interchangeable ss cartridge/ halogen heater square HI. Still waiting to see if I can also score a Bamboo HI with a glass heater? That'll give me pretty much all the current desktop heaters that Alan makes.

Did lotsa research on log vapes. All seems pretty similar. Some minor differences here and there imo. I contacted all log vapes makers during my research but no one treated me better than Alan. No one showed me more passion, patience, expertise, knowledge and a genuine desire to see me enjoy my vaporizer.

The kind Sir went through some personal stuff and is not active in recent months. Is also an older gentleman and a one man operation. Thread on FC pretty quiet due to the fact. I feel many are sleeping on HIs due to the long wait. However, the square and bamboo HIs are available in short time. They actually look awesome. Price is the most reasonable I've seen. The dude is a vaporizer guru.

If I was the jealous type, I’d be jealous with everyone talking about their airstream 7-fin tips.
Must be a few out in the field.
Oh, well gotta be patient, I, too will eventually land one. Just not before Christmas. Santa, you are kru-ell. :D:lol:

I think he assumed that you were getting a WoodScents log since those fit Dynavap tips, and I don’t remember that being an option for HI. Does Alan have a compatible size too? :)

Yes, He definitely does. Its basically a heater cover that he makes to fit DV tips. I believe you can just switch the cover onto any HI, and make it receive DV tips. Should be just as easy as removing two screws. I ordered two Square HIs so that I can have both covers. One of it will have a regular soldered in heater. The other one will have two heaters I can interchange with, an ss cartridge and a halogen heater. If there is a Bamboo HI with my name on it, it'll have the glass heater. The glass heater is just a regular one with a glass cover. So it's not really a must have but really just my VAS flaring up lol.

Not really planning on doing anything. This was from a VGoodiez order. I'm not sure if Scott is willing to replace it, since I'm international/ not US.

I had a separate order from Dynavap for a Ti Tip and a Vapcap Pack. An OG Cap had a chip on top only after a week of normal use. I sent pics and was asked to show my heating process in a video. I hesitated because I have nothing to prop my phone. Did not wanna go out during Covid just to get a tripod. But they insisted and said they will replace. At this point, I really just wanted to prove my point. I went out and got a tripod, took a quick video with no flower and said the replacement is not necessary. No replies after that. Well…you could at least tell me future Vapcaps that I buy will not have this issue? Maybe they're just too eager to close the book on this one. Not everyday that a customer tells you to keep the replacement.

I'm medicating in prohibition land. I prefer to keep a low profile and just let things be. View attachment 4363View attachment 4364View attachment 4365

Hey, Bud, If it will help, if you cover mailing, I will be glad to send you another (new) cap, in the spirit of playing it forward, and

That is so awesome of you buddy! I really appreciate the gesture. Unfortunately, shipping is likely to cost around the same as the price of a Vapcap. Especially since it's on sale now lol.

Like I said, a vapcap is not expensive. Which is why I declined the replacement out of spite, cos i can still afford to lol. Wouldn't be as generous if it was a FlowerPot for instance lol.

It's really no biggie and I've moved on. Just don't really share the same impression of DV like most on the thread. Felt that my experience should at least be shared. They are not as cool as described. Quite the opposite really imo.

While helping each other within this community, it is important to understand and acknowledge the frustration someone might have. But it would also be nice if those who seek help understand that most of us had very positive experiences with this company. There's no need to downplay that either.

I'm pretty sure I acknowledged the positive experiences most people have. Don't remember downplaying any of them. I'm sure that sharing my experiences don't count?

Since sharing, all I've been doing is replying to peeps who quoted my post. I've more than once repeated that I'm moving on. I may go off topic in my replies but we are stoners after all lol. Actually, I've kinda changed the subject but still. So it's not my intention to harp on this. Its just rude not to reply to kind hearted comments.

So, I've been wanting a Damascus stem for a long time now, but finding one is darn near impossible! So, I decided to take matters into my own hands, and make my own! I designed this in my usual signature style to go along with my other wood stems!

I thought I would share the process with you all, and see what you thought!

The stem is 63mm long, is airportless, and fits in a stash. This is going to be my official on the go stem!

Did you purged it completely?

Got my goodiez from @VGOODIEZ 🤞 liking the shellshock stem.
Is there a quick fix for the honest torch, it runs for about 3 seconds and then does a big flame out. Gas keeps going after the switch is off.
Yeah, what he said: purge.

Or the gas could be just too high. Try turning gas to off. Then creep up on just the minimum needed to get your consistent flame. Your issue is exactly what I had with a scorch torch and someone suggested turning the flame waaaay down. It worked for me. I know it sounds counter intuitive. But I think it's literally blowing itself out with the flow of gas too high.

Of course I'm probably completely wrong.

@khelek41girl Does the damascus has any particular smell to it ? I've seen it only on a knife and it smelled like gunpowder for some reason. Maybe it is something similar to how brass reacts to the sweat of your fingers.

I have had very little problems with these torches which is why I continue to offer them. That said nothing is perfect so if you have continued problems holler at me and I'll take care of you.
