I had a bunch of extra diametric magnets so I banged out a stand for my collection. What better place to show it off than here. I use the Omni a lot when I leave the house. The 14/18 Ed’s TNT does the heavy lifting at home. I rock it with a condenser but I’m considering making a custom condenser with a dark spinning wood mouth piece to finish it off. 42B7045C-1AAC-4CD9-A40B-5049A3363EF2.jpeg

Hoping someone who has tried both the Simrell Vortex and the Shellshock can give a vapor quality comparison.
Not a price tag comparison, not an airport comparison, not a draw resistance comparison, just a simple vapor quality comparison between the two.
I have both, vapor quality is pretty similar imo. They both offer a smooth experience while allowing reasonably thick hits.

Huh, do you own one? The intercooler only improves it, either it spinning or sitting in a fixed/held location
Yes I do own multiple and the intercooler is not held in place and to get it to spin u must flip the stem over and hold at a certain angle. Regardless if the intercooler is not held static in place it cannot create the vortex effect and all its actually doing is spinning and making a cool sound. I am not knocking the stem its a cool stem and has many advantages and benefits just pointing out don't get it for the intent of the intercooler and don't go out of your way to track down a intercooler for it as it has no real design for it.

what, i dunno about yours, but i have had 2 joe king co assassins and they both spin sitting vertically 90 degree up in a wpa, all I hafta do is hold my thumb over the airport not 100% closed - its actually pretty ez to get it to spin, the larger opening it spins faster, the smaller opening it spins slower. No flipping the stem over and holding it at a certain angle, none of that.......

and if you ask the maker, he literally designed it and recessed the area for the intercooler to spin, literally exactly the opposite of what you are saying, and once the intercooler has resin built up it literally stops spinning and acts like a regular vortex, if you dont believe me run the assassin piece when the intercooler is heavily gunked up through water (like when your cleaning) and see the sprial effects it is creating just like the vortex stem.

I look at it differently:

Even when not spinning, the metal intercooler is still going to absorb heat from the vapor and should, in theory, cool your draw even if not spinning. Right?

Full disclosure- I don’t have any personal experience with an intercooler yet.

Indeed, more surface area in the twisted metal of the vortex cools the hot vapor. Not sure that if it SPINS, it’s going to be better or worse for cooling, but since that may be very hard to measure and prove either way, let’s say in the end it’s subjective to each users individual perceptions. I even believe that my titanium vortex cools a bit more then my wood vortex stem, as the metal of the stem combined with the vortex insert, adds more potential for absorbing the hot vapor, but that could also, just be in my head, as it’s too close to call.

Personally, I don’t care for the DV “M”, stems. For ME, too short, too heavy, too many cuts for bling.
I read the reviews, and confirmed for myself, that the long/standard Simrell Titanium stem did cool my vapor, noticeably to me. I like the smooth thin design, light weight, and no orings. I liked it enough over the DV stems, that I recently bought a Simrell Cocobolo wood vortex stem, same long length.

I’ll leave out the Simrell’s high price and odd shipping and extra insurance, as money should not be included in a blind taste test.

For going through my water rig, with its water cooling, I grab the DDave clear glass 14mm, no carb, glass stem, with a DV SS 20m tip. All IH use, no gas here. For the Simrell stems, I prefer the DV Titanium tips. There would have to be some new revolutionary stem, with even more cooling, but in the form factor I prefer, to make me buy any more stems right now. I don’t reach for the BB9’s either.....

We can agree to disagree on function thats the beauty of life everything is subjective without documented proof and even with that whether we feel or notice it or not is subjective on ourselves but a direct quote (If you hold the stem with the airport facing down and cover the airport half way with your thumb, the Intercooler actually spins within the stem creating a cyclone of cool vapor shooting straight into your mouth like a turbo.

I recommend completely covering the airport with your thumb and feather the airport thus spinning the Intercooler.) I am using it exactly as the creator intended and informed me to and have multiple messages to such. The fact is we will never truly know if there is a difference or not without hooking up to a wind tunneling passage system to test.

However we are not here to argue we are here to learn about cool things and get faded together, we are both in agreement the stem is worthy to have in anyones DynaCase. Now time to vape a cap or 3!!!!!

DynaNewbie here. Never seen or held one of these. Frankly I had always thought 'why this'?.....but having read bits of this enormous thread....I am intrigued.

What say you to a DynaNewbie?.....if I were to try one of these....should I just buy an 'M' and give it a whirl? Or something different? Help appreciated.

I can't get past that disturbing titty-dicknipple avatar!
LOL... Yeah came across it one day and the full thing actually on the bottom of it says "Ok thats enough internet for today!!!" so its a reminder for me to spend less time online everytime I see it.

Well I dipped my toes into the deep end now. I purchased my first cap...from a local shop...and bought the 2020 M Starter Pack. What the heck. I gave it a bit of a whirl last night and can see the charm...and indeed the effects were surprisingly potent imo. I have a lot more tinkering to do before I can really express much of an opinion. That said, the device is obviously well designed and engineered.

Aside from accolades....my chief complaint is in the 'adjustable bowl size'. I tinkered...and read...and tinkered....and read....and nearly destroyed my screen attempting to reduce the bowl size. I finally gave up. I hadn't realized that I would be required to literally engineer a method for screen placement to reduce the bowl size. A silly difficult task. Demoralizing lol.

I'm not certain whether I can grow accustomed to the torch aspect of DynaVap as stealth is among primary goals for me. My Hopper is just too easy and fast making for more of a 'daily driver'. The DynaVap should, however, be an excellent ancillary 'tool in the shed'. Looking forward to getting to know both the device and this thread a bit better.

@jabba FWIW I have very little trouble adjusting screens in my titanium tips, but absolutely couldn't get them positioned in my either of my 2020 M tips.

Well that is certainly interesting...and makes me feel a bit better...so thanks. I am certainly a newbie to DynaVap but I am 'well seasoned' lol. I found the entire marketing of 'adjustable bowl size' to be just great. In reality...the adjustment is nothing more than a notch inside the bowl...and I found it to be entirely impossible to get the screen to that mid-way point in any solid semi-permanent fashion. Impossible.

@jabba – Maybe this helps:

Well...you inspired me. I watched the video and initially had no luck. Just couldn't get the screen to seat properly all around. Further tried to flatten the screen..helped. THEN!....I took a pencil eraser at the top/tip end and with my thumb applied light pressure to the top of the screen while I pushed gently at the bottom of the screen with my opposing hand. I was finally able to gently push it upward and got it seated all around (at least I think that I did). Awesome. For my uses....small is good. Thank you!
