Some time ago I asked about soaking the parts in warm milk on the stove to make "stem miilk". I then will rinse everything in warm water and use iso on those spots that still need it. But I'm wondering how long to soak in the warm milk too mnake that "stem milk".
I gotta say, this Virgo can’t abide how dirty stems have to get to make this worthwhile. Much prefer frequent cleaning in reused everclear, until it’s a nice dark amber color, then put it into coffee directly.

@Mr.Sifter, recently cleaned a cap with bartender’s friend, a soft cloth and elbow grease. Didn’t get it to completely new looking, but better. I think going forward I’m just going to live with the patina, though. For internal cleaning, I’ve never needed more than a swipe with alcohol on a q-tip. I think there’s a recent “Snap” video that recommends soap and water, then *thorough* drying

I want to clean caps

They are a bit more fragile than the rest of a Dynavap, so soaking should be avoided. I hardly have to clean the cap at all, but when I do, I use a q tip lightly soaked in iso (often enough without iso). The only time when I do soak the cap is when I had a combustion event, because there's no way around it for me, but I use warm water and dishwasher soap instead of iso and will rinse the cap thoroughly and make very sure it's dry before using it again. I have one cracked cap because I was impatient with it once.

My M18 Cap is very very dark.
this happened when I had a few beers and did not care.
Silly me

Iso, baking soda, toothpaste, magic eraser.... all failed

What a terrific way to blow half a day. Go through all that trouble to clean Dynavap parts in a very inconvenient and time sucking manner to make stem milk, drink said milk, get so stoned that you can't do anything except pass out. Sign me up.
Last time it took a long time to kick in. I was so high it woke me out of a dead sleep, and I had to concentrate on breathing cause I was concerned I wouldn't breath right while sleeping. Yeah that shit ain't for me. With the bb9 its so easy to make. I don't even bother with tip. I just put dirty bb9 into cup of tea/coffee that has some half n half n it. Just make sure its kettle hot. Swirl and the shit just pops out after a few minutes. Really easy to do, but regulating floating globs of thc is whole nother thing. George is the one that actually mentioned this method in one of the dynavap lives a while back.

Well you can get the cap clean very easily, but the staining is a different story. If a stain-free cap is the goal, best bet is to buy a new one and never use a lighter on it. IH only.

Does anybody know how to get the discoloration off of the dynavap? My 2020 M has gotten discolored, I’m sure all torch users have this happen, and I recently got an induction heater. Is there a way to get my vape looking like new since I don’t think there would be discoloration from the induction heater.
Also, any methods of how to use the dynacoil with an induction heater, it seems like the concentrates would just melt down into the car when warming up and hot, Since you point the dynavap down when Putting it in the induction heater.

Did you read the previous posts above yours, coincidentally talking about this very subject?
:hmm:

I'll show some love TS, thanks.
Will pick some up on my next order.
I assume you cant soak the caps, the dirty buggers.
why cant we clean caps with dark crystal glass cleaner? its all natural

this cap was cleaned with dark crystal and iso prolly 1-2 weeks ago and has only seen IH use, you can see some resin building up on the insides of the cap, however dark crystal glass cleaner makes it look like brand new, i do not have a preclean pic but take a look at inside of your caps and compare!

those who dont clean your cap, their is a layer of resin in your cap that you dont realize is robbing you of flavor (I didnt realize till i used dark crystal and was able to literally wipe it off with qtip and thought it was just patina on the metal but nope its resin), ever see the posts on reddit after user finally swaps to a new cap - and are always raving about it, this i the main reason why, dirty resin filled caps dont taste as good as clean ones.

edit: that tip/cap was in use for past 3+ months easily as well, my tip/cap did not have black soot but a fine brownish resin layered all over it (it was iso washed weekly) and the resin literally just wiped off like you would expect

I am looking for a nice VapCap GonG.

This is the best looking one I found:

But why is it so expensive?
Is the glass Ed uses of superb quality?

there is the sneaky Pete "strong-arm" as an alternative but it looks rather fragile and it may be a little bit to long for my expected use.
and of corse the Dynavap BB9 but I do not like the rattling balls inside, I guess.

aaaand there is DHGate.
Am I allowed to post their links in here ?

do you use GonGs ?
can you recommend some to me?

They are expensive but it’s a one man show and I will grab a 14mm when I remember.
The BB3 is nice if pricey, it’s got a carb hole but 10mm.
I am just getting used to it, think I like it.
Why not post DH Gate links?
I’ve got a random link I meant to post here, let me rummage...
They are strong enough to just hold the DV upside down, the same width as the cap, chunky but they work whilst I look for thinner or one massive one.

Sneaky Pete also offers a little elbow, which is a shorter version of the strong arm. I got something like that from a UK vendor (probably generic China sourced, but with better quality control). Fit was perfect, but I haven't tried it yet.

I like Ed's dedicated joint sizes which removes the major breaking hazards coming from multi-size adapters, but I eventually passed on ordering one because, shipping costs to Europe aside, I read about the threading being prone to residue buildup and hard to get clean. If I come across one in Europe for like 20 shipped I will probably grab one. AFAIK Ed's products come from his workshop, which quite possibly offers them the qualitative edge.

If you don't want to spend too much though and you're patient enough to wait at least a couple of weeks, possibly a more, I would probably just pick up a couple of cheap dhgate ones.

little elbow?
I could find the "little finger" but that seems to be the same as the "strong arm" but with two bulged out rings to make it a table-clear design.

One thing I like about the Dave Waterwands is the fact that they use a special 14mm taper that fits in the green/purple Dynavap containers. Nice for storage and cleaning.
As usual: shipping to EU destroys the price

lol yeah little finger is what I meant. I just kind of assumed it was shorter than the strong arm because of the name, so I could very well be wrong there.

I picked up 5/16x1/8 N52 magnets from K&S magnets. They'll pull the cap and hold the CV. 10mm would be 3/8" in SAE.
