Discontinued Hopper io

Ok problem solved, I must put the magnet on the Hopper and then I can plug in the USB. Now the Hopper is flashing like it should so I guess it's charging. It's small detail like that I would like to be more clear. I just looked in the instruction and sure enough it's explained in this order but the importance of which part you must plug first is not made clear.

Since 6th July, my package has gone from Boulder Colorado to USPS St. Paul Minnesota to Chicago to Chicago International Distribution Center.

For 2 weeks it’s then been repeatedly shipped from Chicago International Distribution Center to Chicago International Distribution Center, usually 2/3 times a day.

On Thursday it was put on a flight from Chicago International Airport to Dallas Texas. It arrived in Dallas yesterday, and that's its last known location.

All these locations are up to 1,000 miles apart.

My cousin in the US has called USPS every day for the last week, and every day she gets the same BS that it’s on its way to Ireland.

It looks like you have to be as thick as Donald Trump to get a job in USPS.

Hopper have told me they're chasing it up, but it doesn't seem to be having any positive effect.

Great news. It's a simple procedure that (at least with og's) is only occasionally needed. Glad you are up and running.

Once the storm troopers get all the anarchists rounded up things will get back to Great Again around here. We'll have postal service like no one has ever seen before...

USPS has definitely been suffering with the increased e-commerce volume related to Covid. That said, it's not just them. I have seen delays with other domestic carriers as well as for shipments coming in from other countries from their local post.

It's not so much the delay. It's the fact that it's touring the country.

However, I just got an auto email saying it's in Dublin Ireland. You can call off the hounds. Thanks. Scott.

Yeah sorry I have not gotten back to your PM. This has probably been one of the toughest work weeks ever in my regular job. I'm even here now. Likely will see 80 hours this week and it's been over 90+ working in a sweltering hot environment. I think I lost about 10 pounds this week.

That's no bother Scott.

Sorry for adding to your workload.

Stay safe man.

The Grasshopper IO is insane! I hope mine holds up well! Last night the lady and I got TORCHED off the Hopper / Sneaky Pete Predator combo. I also was able to milk up a 12 in Todd Lewis beaker bong as well. Milking the bottom of the beaker requires two puffs.. Does anyone use a longer straight tube bong with a Hopper? I'm thinking a longer tube would be great...14-18 inches. Fill up quicker and get a nice punch.

@VGOODIEZ Even though you are busy you guys got my Hopper out right away! Great service even though you are working 80+ Highly recommended vendor!

Well I'm lucky to have Mrs. Goodiez do a majority of the shipping but it's response to emails/messages, ordering inventory from vendors and sometimes it takes me an extra day to get a heavy kit set up and shipped.

Thanks for the kind works. Anyone waiting, I should get caught up by tomorrow.

i asked Hopper Labs if the Titanium one with 5 watts more gets hotter on highest Temperatur level than the Stainless Steel. (because i am only using the highest temperature level to get all out of the herbs)

Hopper Labs said to me only this: If you want max constant temp then get the Ti.

A replacement io arrived today, the first one had a bad charger and the back end failed very quickly.

This new one got here in just a few days, and it is a new, boxed unit, including a battery!
After some burn-off (is that the smell of flux, or what? -- it goes away after some burn-off) and some time on the magnetic charger, it has performed just super. Just finished bowl #4, back end staying cool. Temp 2.5 has been plenty for native.
But I still put on the pfe with little ss drip tip to keep the front business civilized.

edit
4 bowls was the limit. With og's, I would usually charge after one or two, never sure if a third would work out.
More good news; it is able to charge using any of the 3 'types' of magnetic chargers I have (I call them v1, v2 and io).

You're probably better off investing in a Nitecore digital charger. A lot less hassle charging batteries so you have spares on standby.

After an evening with the Hopper IO in my lab I must say this vape is everything I ever wanted. This is the first time I'm truly blown away by a vape. I didn't expect it would kick my ass as much as it did. For it's size, it's a monster. I used it dry in a Sneaky Pete globe with glass balls inside and the taste was amazing, the hit was barely felt in my throat and my lungs, but thrust me I felt it in my head. I decided to start very slow and since I didn't know how to pack my herb I've put only one small scoop in it, and the effects I got after I was done were so good, I can see myself using this to micro-dose quickly instead of my Vapcap. When I checked my AVB everything was evenly roasted, nice dark color, it was then I realized how small of a load I've put in it versus the effects I was getting. Of course the only thing logical to do was to see what this thing could do with a packed bowl and I was not let down. Same complete extraction, even more intense taste, I tried every heat setting and each time I got a nice big cloud of vapor.

I understand now why even with the reputation Hopper Labs has for having a never ending list of problems, people still buy their vapes. Even if they have one that don't work, they still get a second one, it's that good. Now I hope I wont fall in the same pattern, I already plan on getting a colored one when they get available but this all could change if my unit start having problems, time will tell but I plan on using the thing every day so it should see a lot of action.

Before I go I'm curious how do you use the Hopper in regards to temperature? Do you ramp up the heat during the session or do you stay at a specific heat setting. I did ramp up the heat but I 'm scared I'm gonna break the thing if I keep adjusting the temperature while I'm doing my session. Do I worry too much?
Sorry for the stupidity, glass balls in the globe?

Instead of water I put glass bead inside the globe, help with cooling the vapor without having water changing the taste. I wanted to see what the Hopper was capable of doing with the taste but I didn't wanted to be bothered by the heat this little marvel can produce. Results are conclusive , very tasty vapor and the combo Hopper and the Globe is really fun to have in the hands.

Very nice, I’m gonna have to try it! I have the mini globe I use dry with my other Vapes but the io is a bit beastly for that Lil guy at high temps. I do love how I can get a huge smooth rip at 2.5-3 before I have to hit it through the bigger glass with water. I’ve gotten used to dry vaping... I do love the extra flavor! I guess I need to go get me some balls!

With the globe I can hit the Hopper up to 5 and still enjoy the vapor, of course at 5 it's a lot harsher but when I'm at that temperature the session is almost over and the herb has already lost all it's flavor so I don't mind. I'm used to my hit being hot and harsh because of my combustion days when I would smoke weed in my bong. The beads add cooling but also help to create a bit of turbulence in the globe and help mix the vapor so the taste is better. I also added the Mega Globe Cooling Mouthpiece to the thing to make sure the vapor is cooled and mixed even more. I only had enough beads to till the globe half way but I guess if I fill it up completely the cooling will be even better.

I call this set-up The Canadian Winter 🥶 and this is what it looks like:20200726_121634.jpg

I got these from Planetvape, they are Bubbler balls and of course they are out of stock. There should be 500 glass beads, 6mm each in the globe. I don't want to derail this tread so I think I will start a new thread about this thing, but first I must clean up my glass before I take more pictures.

@The Chemist I've often thought of filling my Mega Globe with glass beads but it's such a pain to find them in Canada. you say 500 of them for the Globe eh? I wonder how many Id need to fill up the Mega for a dry bead set up, really like the way this looks.

Would these work?

Does anyone else have an IO and an OG and notice that the OG roasts the herb much darker? I can milk my bong much better with the OG as well. Both with the same battery, fully charged, for a fair comparison.

Yes! I have two OG Hoppers that will definitely turn the ABV darker than my IO. The IO seems to extract more evenly, whereas my "hot" OG units will scorch the material in 4 draws.

However I noticed this difference in my OG Hoppers as well. Some produce light to medium dark brown ABV, some scorch it to black.

I was under the impression the IO was supposed to run 10 degrees hotter than the OG.

Look for "vase filler glass beads". This is not vaping stuff, they are used for a lot of applications.

Here is one from Amazon
