What's up fellas, Socks and Sandals from the old forum here. Nice to see everyone loving their Evo's and experimenting with new new temps and new ways to use this Beast of a vaporizer! This is still my daily driver and has been since 2016 for the most part! After short stints with other vapes, I just keep coming back to this because it just gets me where I want to be faster, and hits much harder do to the water filtration.

I usually run my concentrates right at 350F, 12 on the dial now as that seems to be the sweet spot. Very long light pulls.. always a half of a grain of rice or smaller, rolled up into a ball (if soft shatter) and put in my quartz tube.. so neat and so sweet! This is also always were I start my herb (at noon) and just go up till 2 till done.

Looks like Genuine XHL accessories to me! That was the old color Stonemonkey logo I had on my classic Hydrabomb before it broke. Nice find.. but is there any way to convert to USD? I don't think there is for those of us in the states.

On a side note, it's not just their Hydratubes and bases they discontinued.. it was many other things.. The silicone dab mat (which I use to place the Evo On), then they removed both of the Nail Buddys (one held 10, the other 5), they removed the stock normal dry mouthpiece for something that looks like.. well you know :dog:... the Calyx. Anyone remember anything else?

Oh wait... they did used to offer that lube for the glass joints and Rez block if you remember. My first Evo came with a Skillettools Branded Honeybun which they also used to offer on it's own before switching to a generic Honey bun tool.. I know there are more accessories they have discontinued since I got mine in the tail end of 15 but I can't remember.

Anyhow, unless they accept USD, I'll have to find an official base elsewhere. I'm not a fan of DH Gate or cheap china glass.

You can ask to vapefield what they can do for you or I can buy one and send it from Spain for you no problem...they have one left for 112 pounds or grafite one for 149.99 both you need to add the price of postage.
Let me know, glad to help,it is risky but It could work, I don't know how custom is going to be...
If you pay by card or transfer it should convert your USD automatically...by me I payed by Euros no probs

I appreciate the offer, I really do but I'll try to find one elsewhere first. Do you really think they would do that? I've always just avoided sites in different currency.. but you found some legit VXL hydratubes and bases.. I think I'll email them and ask.

Thank you man!

Speak of the Devil...

Holy shit how long has it been since we've seen these!?!

Just picked this up, looks like a modified version of the standard "tree" perk. This purchase may push back my inevitable FP, Hybrid and Nano purchases but I don't care! Been wanting one of these for the longest time... especially a legit one! Looks like I don't have to look after all.. although I would prefer the honeycomb one of course! :D

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
How does the hydro foot work exactly? Does the Evo go upside down in the female connection and you ht attaches to the top four extra filtration? Or possibly a whip?

Best way is through the whip and WPA, but yes you can use it upside down. I do think I heard someone at VXL say that you should limit the time spent upside down. Obviously you can't use it upside with concentrates and the nails so you would have to get the whip and WPA.

It's displayed on the product page that the Evo is upright attached through a whip and to the vertical joint of the hydra base while the Hydrotube sits on the 18mm male top of the this base. Hope this helps!

I had exactly the same question, if you click on the link there is a video showing how to use it with a whip.

I've been wanting the evo for a while. VXL sales the unit by itself but it doesn't include the neoprene sleeve. Does anyone know where one could be purchased?

Oh No! Mr macbill!!

Before they existed, I used a "can cozy" (a beverage can insulator with the bottom removed) to help.

Thank you. Sorry if this has been asked before I'm new and not really sure how to find out. How would you rate the evos hits compared to the hydrobrick max?

The only time it doesn't come with the sleeve is if you buy a single unit by itself. If your starting out. Get a kit and it will come with everything you need.

Yeah I noticed that, that's why I asked if there were other options. I saw they sale one by itself but its sold out. I like the can cozy idea. How hot does the unit get? Like too hot to touch? Only vape I've used that got hot is IQ. Is it comparable to that?

In my experience, if you hold it towards the bottom third of the unit, it never gets too hot to touch. The middle and upper portions can get pretty hot. Not hot enough to burn, but the heat might surprise you if you're not expecting it.

Best,

Thank you. I'm hoping on getting one of these in the next 4-6 weeks. Have you used a sticky brick? How would you compare the vapor to the evo?

It gets hotter than most vapes, especially at the top, when you get closer to the dial it's manageable without a sleeve, but I would highly recommend it. Besides it looks so dull without it IMO. The only other option I know of besides the sleeves were the rubber bands they used to have with the OG Cloud, but who knows if you can find them. Pretty sure any thick rubber bands would work like the bracelet things the kids wear.

Like I said, it just looks better with the Sleeve IMO. But I don't use the straps as they can block the bamboo. I usually fold them upward inside while slipping it on as the sleeve catches the evo if it slips off at the power cord anyway. Goodluck!

It's pretty bloody hot, but then I leave mine on for hours with a quick reset of the time out. I wouldn't want to use mine without a sleeve, but I did try once and it was manageable if you're careful.

100% agree. I don't understand why they used that velcro strap, a small elastic loop to hook under each corner would have been so much better IMO

I've had the Sticky Hydro for a week or two and picked up MASSIVE hits through the whip attachment -> WP. I use the dosing caps in the bottom. I've had the EVO for 2-3 nights and just started to get the hang of it. I want to try it with a whip through a different WP tonight. So far in my limited experience the Sticky is the biggest hitter I have so far..
