Shout out to Dynavap. Just got a small order of some parts. Super fast international shipping is greatly appreciated. Now I am waiting for my short Simrell vortex stem and Yew Phatt piggie stem. Then my Vaphotbox micro and then I will rule the world :D 🦘💯

Sounds like you are amassing a WMD.
You mentioned a VHB Micro, my ears went up, ahah, finally, a pocketable
mag heater!

Post pics of your Arsenal when you get them? Are you in AUS

PS Aha, I see the Collective

Vaphotbox is awesome. I have the portable original which worked great daily since sept. Just recently the jack for the ac adapter got pressed in. I’m assuming some glue came loose. The unit still worked, but unable to charge. Contacted them and they sent a shipping label immediately and I sent in for fix. Will update when it comes back but seller was very responsive!
I love the look of the wood and if a portable wood one comes available I’ll buy that in a heartbeat!

I see that PIU finally ran out of 19M's for $45. :( It was a great deal while it lasted. I was gonna pick up another just for the cap and tip.

I guess I'll wait now for the 20M tips to become available A' la carte. What is the general consensus on the draw resistance between the 19 and 20 SS tips? Is it clear or more in the eyes of the user?

You had me going there @Stark1 . I was trying to see how he could have done that. But the question arose from you comment - that is pocketable? I've been working at keeping it under an inch.

I too have been using my Vaphotbox since last June with absolutely 0 problems. I have tried all of the portable IH on the market and this is by far my favorite unit. It’s extremely reliable and almost indestructible. I have been using mine excessively, and I only vape with my wife, so that’s double the load for this unit. I use it every single day, in the morning, before work, at work, after work, and all day afterwards, this thing is a fucking tank. Steve is an exceptional person and I have a lot of respect for him and the hard work he does. Just so anyone is wondering the VHB lasts about 30-35 bowls on one charge, where the PSM lasts about 10 bowls per charge. This heater should be in everyone’s hand.

Speaking of stems lets see the stems yall own.
We still sharing stem shots?20200607_164001.jpg

Left to Right: Silver Galaxy Glass body w/ Titanium Tip for rapid on-the-go extraction, Dynacraft's Gurney, Jamis, and Shaddam IV stems, and a Hydravong body in front of the Sneaky Pete mini-globe. Been shuffling my 2020 Stainless Tip back and forth between the four wood stems, but it's been mostly living on the Jamis mostly due to how well it fits in the hand. Fun side note(well, i'll let you decide if it is fun or not): I've also been using my Shaddam IV on the globe and it fits better than the Hydravong! Definitely surprised me when I realized this.

Anyways, that's my stem collection currently. At the moment I'm waiting on two more vapcaps(an '18 and a '19) to top off the Gurney and Shaddam permanently, and eyeing another titanium tip for the hydravong; but that depends on how I like the '18 and '19 tips. Anyways, who's gonna put me to shame with some more awesome Simrell action shots?

@BabyFacedFinster re: 20M / 19M draw resistance. Important to note that I'm commenting on your question regarding draw resistance of the tip. Not the cap.

It's ultimately gonna boil down to user experience and whatever prejudices we bring to the experience. However, here's my $0.02:

I like the adjust-a-bowl feature on the 20M specifically because of the ability to create a completely open space under the CCD and get fantastically low draw resistance.

DV's adjust-a bowl feature on the Ti tip is finicky at best. The 20M, however, nailed it. That's its #1 redeeming quality because it creates awesome airflow.

But... It's a smaller bowl. There is all of pros and cons of that.

Overall though I just do not like or use any of my 20M parts. There's nothing "wrong" with any of them. I just think of it as the Oreo cookie principle:

Oreo's are in my top 10 favorites. But, definitely ot top 7. So, if anything wife-made, a Chessmen, a Nutter Butter, a Grasshopper, a Pecan Sandie, 'Nilla Wafer, etc. is there why would I ever choose an Oreo over them?

I have other DV goodies. I play DynaLego constantly and rarely use the same setup for even one entire day. My complete 20M sits clean and untouched 99% of the time until I feel sorry for it and bust it out.

I have nothing against any of the 20M parts on their own. But, they're all Oreos.

The only "improvement" from 19 to 20 was the adjustable CCD. Every single other thing was a step backwards.

20M lovers - please don't flame or hate on me. I love my 20M and I'm happy if you love yours. I just love my othe DVs more.

sorry for my short answer Tommy, was on a tablet.

yes, the vendor replaced the part, but i was left with a bad taste in the mouth.
it should have been an immediate straight swap, but the swap was only done after dynavap in the US said it was a manufacturer's error.
i know it's a minor thing, but to me it shows either that they didn't believe/trust me, and only did the right thing after being 'forced'.
i have spent over US$1000 with the vendor in the last month, while converting to vaping and buying all the necessary peripherals.
i am a good customer.
that was not how i felt.
unfortunately they are the only dynavap agent in south africa.
thankfully i have bought everything i need.

Thanks for that @Ganjora - I always find these things interesting from a manufacturing point of view. I always ask myself "how can this happened?". I'm from an industry where this kind of crap makes heads roll. And eyes roll. I'm sure the distributor at your end was covering its butt in verifying replacement with the main office but still, I hear you on the "awe crap" end of receiving something like that to begin with. I'd say DV could be money ahead, if not relations ahead to just hire one true inspector. No more dirty condensors, more consistency in tip performance, maybe even more consistent clickers! CNC doesn't remove operator variance.

Lately, I've been using the 2020 M w/o the condenser straight into a 14mm j-hook using the red 14mm grommet used for the Supreme bowls. Got the idea from @just_tHe_fLu back on old FC. I'm using the half bowl setting and getting the same effects as a whole bowl setting w/ the condenser in. Big time win for me as the stash is getting frighteningly low. :uhoh:

If followed up w/ a toke off a real oneie...:ninja:...functionly high for hours on end coupled w/ great anxiety and pain relief. 1 4 the body & 1 4 the mind. Feels...pretty radical!

Question for you folks. I was looking into buying a Simrell vortex (1st dynavap) and saw only SS caps are offered on Simrells website. Is there any great advantage to buying a Ti cap separately? I know the Ti tips heat up quicker but wondering how the cap plays in. Thanks!

If you wanted to know about the tip, I'd say it would only end up an advantage if you find Ti as a preference to SS. Each has their advantages and it's what you end up liking. I prefer the SS because I feel it is slower on the heat up allowing a good heat soak.

And so, in order to determine this yourself, you'll need one of each. Thus it is an advantage for you. Gets you on your path to :sherlock:

There are low temp caps, regular old caps, and the captive cap which is regular in temp but unique in it's ability to cling. If that is something of interest to folks. My cap was never falling off.

@notams, much thanks for your feedback. Draw resistance is quite important to me. I had two very nice 2019 SS tips in terms of heat up and low resistance. They worked very nicely with my @Pipes equipment. However, I just sent one to my father for father's day (that sob better like it ;)) and now I'm out my back up tip. My next best would be an original 7 fin what has minimal cuts in the distal end, giving it a bit more resistance that the '19 tips. It's an ok back up and is still much better than my second gen tips which are like sucking a frozen shake through a bar straw.

So my options are get a new tip (thus the question about a 19 or 20 tip), or try to drill the cut-ins deeper on the 7 fin. I tried this once before on a c-vap tip but butchered it all to hell.

Where did you see a Ti cap?
As far as I'm aware, Dynavap has only ever produced Steel caps to date.

Ti seems like an odd metal to make one of these caps with, since the cap requires a lot of flexibility.
