Discontinued VRIPtech Heating Wand

Just look through the clear part right by the knob. You'll see a blue rectangle with 2 tiny dials. That's your vt1 and vt2. Check to see that the vt1 is either at the last dot or second to last I believe. I could be off and it may be one more. I know I've turned mine down because I was combusting once I got my blazemaster. The whole element will never glow orange. Just like an inch of the tip. Once you learn how to prime it well it will start giving you massive rips. And the first two to three won't be the biggest but by far the tastiest. I've always got waaaay bigger rips a couple hits deep

Ouch! Why'd she do that? Accident I hope..

Anyways, after I sell my Hakko wand and blue beaker I'm gonna pick up a VHW. Woot!

yeah, my VHW was actually not glowing orange, even after heating for 10mins. I did the T1 fix to the third hash mark, and still no actual orange on heating element. So i just took it appart and tried a slightly higher temp then the 3rd hash.... Hopefully this will finally work and not be too hot.

Why isn't VripTech calibrating these things before they ship?

I also bought new screens today galore. And some new glass. Can someone snap a pic of their dial? I am now far past the 3rd hash and still the element never glows orange.

Also, the two screws that hold they "grey cork" inside were never inserted. Did they forget to add them?

They do...they just didn't set it to your liking. The vt1 is a quick fix. My wand wasn't glowing orange, so I simply followed the vt1 tutorial. Works fine now. At one point I turned the knob the wrong way  was at an even lower temp then before. That was quickly corrected. Back to clouds....:ko:

:peace:

Newest try is with VT1 turned up all the way and 8+min wait. No orange glow at all. Should i be contacting VripTech?

you probably should contact them, explain your situation and most likely mark will send you a new one.

Does turning up the VT1 nullify the warnentee?

No it doesn't but is It even getting warm??? If it's heating up then your element is still good if not that's your problem. If it's not glowing with the vt1 cranked you either went the wrong way or your elements probaly done. Make sure the red led is still lighting up. The thicker part of the red line on the knob should be toward the glass cover. And they're aren't any screws going into the grey part anymore. They got rid of them. If I had my wand I'd take a picture for ya. And vrip use to run them hotter but people were combusting and complained so they turned it down. They had a bad batch of heaters a while ago which I got and they sent me a new one to solder on so I didn't have to wait for it to be fixed. There's not a whole lot to go wrong on these

Hey what's up everyone. Quick background, tried the original Vriptech with heat gun back in the day an liked it. Since then i've bought a hot-box, wasn't thrilled, bought a Volcano and still wasn't thrilled. Purchased an Iolite and I do like this unit for its portability, but seems to go through butane too often to use it daily. I've since found the Vriptech Heat Wand and I think i'm sold!

Questions:

1. I have a beautiful glass on glass HVY 'water pipe', about a 1 footer with an (OBX? percolator). It is a true HVY brand as it says it on the piece. Which Vaporization Chamber Bowl Shorty will suit my HVY piece, the 14.4mm ground joint "GonG" lower bowl stem or the 18.8mm ground joint "GonG" lower bowl stem?

Is there an easy way for me to determine the size needed?

2. What exactly do I need for a complete setup? I have my HVY 'water pipe' already so...

(1) Vaporization Heat Wand 60W 120V ( American plug) $169.00
(1) Either the 14.4mm or 18.8mm ground joint w/Vaporization Chamber Bowl Shorty $59.99

Would that be all? So total should be about $230?

3. How long can I expect to receive these items?

In summary, I can't wait to get some responses back so I can make my purchase. I understand a member here named Blazemaster makes custom "VCB" for the wands and that they work well. However I think i'm going to start off with the VCB made by Vriptech, and then maybe add a Blazemaster bowl in the future.

Welcome, this is a great vape and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Can't really say the joint size of your particular piece, a picture could be helpful, but the best method would be to measure the opening with a ruler. The thing you want to measure is the inner diameter of the downstem joint opening, your pipe will be either 14.4 or 18.8, there are no other random sizes so it should be pretty straightforward when you measure it.

With the pipe, wand, and 2 piece bowl you should be good to go! You should also use/purchase a surge protector to plug the wand into, beyond the safety issues people have said that it helps makes the power more regulated and the wand work better. I've always used a surge protector and it works great, but I have no experience using it without one.

They ship on tuesday and thursdays, both times I've purchased from them over the weekend they shipped out on a tuesday and it got to me before the end of the week.

Blazemaster bowls kick ass, but since they work without the silicone ring on the tip of the wand it seems a little more user friendly to use the vrip bowls, which might be nice since the wand might kick your ass a few times when you first get it :D

I concur with your plan yolky, and def listen to Durden and get a surge protector...I am awaiting a wand replacement now as the result of me not using one. This is my favorite vape by far, and the best tool I have found for inhaling herbs on the planet imo.

To anyone with customer service needs, I'm sure they will be getting back to you asap. Mark got back today and they are def playing a little catch up. I took up some of their valuable time today in dealing with some USPS technical difficulties in getting my wand there and back.

You may also want to look into a stand of some sort or make yourself a tinfoil boat if you have a coffee table where you vape. Coffee mugs, sundae cups or something similar if you don't want to drop the money on their stand

Awwwwh sheit! :o Just placed an order for the Heat Wand and i'm really excited about it. Turns out my piece is a 14mm so I picked up their 2 piece combo as well as getting the stand for the wand they sell. If you guys have any quick tips on how to get great results with it, feel free to share them. I'm really enjoying my IOlite but the mouth piece got a hair line fracture when i carefully unscrewed it. I'm going to use the IOlite for my 'traveler' piece, and use the heat wand as the primary. I'm pumped and am gonna convert to 100% combustion free.
