A question for those who have used the VXC; how quickly can you finish a load? I'm not talking about 'fiending' taking hit after hit until it is gone; I'm curious to know how much you could finish a load (0.3g?) in one haul/rip?

Is it possible to finish a load in one hit, much like you would clear a bong load in one go?

thanks

Tom

I'll give this a go, since I'm one of those OCD fuckers who counts his hits!

It's all about how much you put in. When I load it light like a PD I get one thick hit and three weaker hits before it is done...just like my PD. When I load it 2/3 full, I usually get about ten to twelve hits out of it, with the last three or four being pretty much invisible. I just keep hitting it anyhow because it feels good and it has an effect.

It's like your bong hit...you can cache a light load in one hit, but it will take more if you packed it heavier.

I did some efficiency testing on the Cloud and have made some suggestions to SM about the manual. I am of the opinion that people should start using the cloud like any other vape they have (assuming a user not new to vaping) with regards to how much to pack and how much to hit it. If you live with a log vape, then load it light and get used to that. If you are a weed hog, then pack that fucker full and get blazed. What I discovered with the Cloud is that, while we all knew it was designed to satisfy the need for big hits, it also works well with lighter loads. Better than the other vapes I have. For instance, my SSV doesn't perform well with a light load. I found that I needed to have it 1/4 to 1/2 full to effectively vape the herb. But the Cloud can get you a good hit off what seems like only a light coating on the bottom of the ELB. My Ion also uses more weed than I would like when I want a lighter session. The same could be said of my E.

-----------------

With regard to attaching a whip to the Cloud, I wouldn't. I mean, you can if you want and it will probably taste better than what comes out of the SSV or E, but why bother? One of the main reasons I go to the Cloud is for taste, so I'm not gonna fuck that up with a tube. Honestly, the HT is my favorite vape accessory and I use it with my PD as well as the Cloud. But to each his own. Using the E cyclone bowl makes sense if you are going to do it. But I have all that shit here and I'm not gonna bother with it.

------------------

This thread moves fast, and this may be a dead issue already, but I thought I would say something about the charring. It's never happened to me. The Cloud consistently produces the most evenly browned abv of all my vapes. The only time I came close to black abv was when I turned it all the way up (just for the hell of it) and it still wasn't 'charred'. Keep in mind my unit is over temped, so I can get a temp way higher than the production models. So I feel confident in saying the only charring that will happen is with a defective unit.

-------------------

Finally...professionalism. I have found that most of the unprofessionalism I have experienced with decent companies is due to miscommunication...and that is always a two way street. I'm not sure we could even classify this company as unprofessional when their whole approach is so unconventional. Who in their right mind would develop a product and start a new business and put all their dirty laundry on the internet, for god's sake? I'm pretty sure we could call SM crazy, but not unprofessional. When he stops showing up on this forum and still hasn't released the Cloud, THEN we can call him unprofessional. But I don't think he is even shooting for professional. Looks to me like he just wants people treated the way he wants to be treated.

And don't forget, this is not a team running around on a large pile of seed money. These guys are working their normal jobs and (at least in SM's case) starting a new family as well. I know for a fact that you all would be much less happy if I were running the show. I'll be damned if I'm gonna work a full time job, raise kids, enjoy my weed AND start a new company. Fuck that...too much work for me. But I'm glad there are young, energetic guys like this team dedicated to my vaping experience!

This is exactly what I am curious about. I love my HerbalAire but one thing I have had to do is load extremely small bowls pinned to the bottom of the crucible by screen. The HA, once it gets going, is hard to stop and I find that once it gets heated up and going well, I am done already. Can any of the Cloud beta testers speak to how well the Cloud stops doing what it does so well?

Edit: Think I answered my own question after pondering the design more in my mind. With the heater placement with respect to the bowl, and the surrounding area, I can see the "freight train" aspect should be negated.

Finally ready to place my pre-order after getting my link last week. After the announcement yesterday I am hoping someone can just confirm that we are still supposed to put in the order as normal and the only thing that is different is that the charge wont actually come through until they are ready to ship?

Patience is a virtue that seems to be in short supply on this forum lately. my understanding from the email i received was that all money was going to be refunded by 11/11. we should receive an email when they are ready to ship. I can wait. My heat gun is still working(ten years). the only advise i could give is to relax and vape a bowl.

You can easily pull the bowl out between hits, it doesn't get hot.... I do this once in a while grazing on a big bowl. If you leave the bowl in, I feel you'll lose less good vapor then most vapes, but due to how well thi beast retains heat I'm pretty certain you'd be losng some while it sits in the hot (or warm) GonG joint. Something else to consider about heat retention is that after unplugging, this bady will still rip for a while.

Please, those with beta units, give us some more reviews (use a bit of herb, use a lot, mix with other herbs etc etc) and just tell us another cloud story or post videos (even unprofessional ones) to keep us cloud 'addicts' occupied while we wait.....:(

Thank you!

P.S. i like the red/green (heating?) LED indicator at the bottom of the Cloud. I don't think I ever noticed that before...

Here is how the indicator lights work, first -- in the right lighting actually the entire glass enclosure lights up to the appropriate color. Assuming the unit is cold and you have juts turned it on:

The unit will light the glass up red while it is heating up. Once it reaches its optimal temperature the unit will switch the light color to green indicating it has reached your specified temperature setting.

So very simply red = "heating up to the proper temperature" and Green = " Ready for cloud production"

Hey Troi!
Welcome aboard the VXC team! That was a great explanation of the operation of the indicator lights!! THanks again!!

Hey Krazy, thanks for your reply. I sometimes dump the crucible from my HA but it is so hot I have to use lab tweezers to pick it up. But it does help. I think I will always love my HA though, it has been a fantastic first vape, the Cloud is going to solve some issues I have had with it though.

Troi, any mock-ups of the finalized packaging? And do you know if it will end up shipping with the HT stand or not? thanks

I am curious about the HT stand as well, it looks like these tubes will be very easy to knock over

I am also curious about the HT stand.

Ah, my roommates dog ate my MFLB (basically) and I was forced to combust earlier. It is times like these when I am craving the cloud most, and still just dreamin'...

last i heard about a stand was when sm55 unveiled the packaging design back in may, and i don't remember him mentioning it again. so,... i'm assuming plans for the stand have not changed. (i hope)
