Is it easy to understand that your bowl has come to an end or will you get the burnt taste easily since is quite a powerful toy this one..

yes it is powerful when necessary, but on the other hand with more conservative settings it can be very mild. Keep in mind that it is a wide range to set power freely from 10% to 100% and most of this range is available in 5% steps and boosting power is adjustable from 85% to 115%. But to be honest, I don't know the answer to your question. I would think that if you start to run out of vapor when you are not yet ready to finish, you would try boosting more and more to try to extract all and then when doing this the taste can change of course.

I also understand wanting to wait for reviews, however it looks like a winner. One way or another this is gonna be a champ. Either the flavor and smoothness will be great with the standard mouthpiece. Or if the vapor is too harsh and hot I know it wil perform like a beast through water.

That being said, I am hoping for it to be smooth and perfect without the need for water filtration. I'll know soon enough.

Anyone have an idea how long it will take to ship to the Northeast US from Finland? I am getting antsy!

The only thing I'm afraid about is the lack of positives feedbacks coming from existing Venus users..... (I know it's not the same unit).

That's my concern as well.
Also my only halogen powered device doesn't get much love anymore.
My latest on demand convection portable has curved my VAS appetite, it's also set the bar high for my next portable purchase.
Not sure if halogen power can stack up?

But looking at the Apollo thru my artists spectacles, it's awful hard to pass up!
I just hope the performance matches its stunning good looks.
I too, will wait and see.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
Yes indeed, me too.
Back on May 1, 2015 @villekille2 shows a pic of 6 prototypes.
The only mention that I can find of use was from @mrweed and with no review.
He did mention that it made him cough alot.
So any other beta testers out there?
Would love to see some reviews from these 6 testers!
Or at least a couple of them.

Hope I don't go OT - just replying.

Here's Mr. Weed's former Venus review...

Based on this technology the Apollo is gonna rock for sure. No doubt about that. :)

FUCK CANCER TOO !
So is this form factor no longer in play? Has it been replaced by the wooden cube and "bulb tube"?

I'm confused.

I never heard of any change and that pic is still up on the ordering site......but perhaps you are getting it confused with the also available "Venus" vaporizer that is also sold on the site......or maybe a discussion of the purely plug-in Helios model that should be forthcoming.

Actually with regards to the Helios model - I am curious as to when that unit might be launching?

@Mulehead : I just realized what a perfect dream line-up you have in your sig, about every single most wanted unit on the market as of today!

Well thank ya sir!
And thanks to FC and members like yourself that post their honest opinions.
I wish I could take all the credit, but I'm just a good reader/researcher.
I also like to take advantage of our very own vape concierge @stickstones, his mind comes in handy when making new purchases.

But my line-up is why I'm unsure about the Apollo.
It would have a lot to live up to just to make it as a back up!

My VAS is down to a slight itch from time to time.
The Apollo porn here, sure has me scratchin'!

Edit: @KeroZen you know I would have been in on this first round of preorders, but RBT's timing was just better!

Hello again. I think tomorrow I will ship the first ones, and try to reach all pending orders by the end of the week.

here is a photo showing the natural color and one wooden piece I tried to stain with "dark oak" color.

The harshness some people mentioned as a worry, I feel it is a direct result of the intense vapor formation, not a result of combustion. It is just when your throat and lungs meet such a strong concentration of vapor. But as I have said before, Apollo is a vaporizer with many customization options.

One interesting one is the ability to change even the characteristics of the heating element. The standard 2nd generation bulb is a very efficient one and produces intense vapors. It can be toned down with milder settings but it is the natural character of the heating element with that bulb. It was the one used in the vacuum cleaner video too.

But if you would rather enjoy just milder vapors without a risk of harshness, you can install the 1st generation bulb which needs more power to produce comparable vapors, thus lowering the battery efficiency but I had one customer tell me that he preferred it because he enjoys very small amounts and with 1st gen bulb he found it was easier for him to find perfect settings for his taste. Physically, the bulb is smaller and goes deeper inside the heating element tube, farther away from the herb chamber. But as I said, both with the Apollo and it is up to the customer to choose what he/she prefers, Apollo surely can deliver.

So now when the Apollo vaporizers are still here, I can actually take wishes from customers and if the above explanation makes you feel that you would rather have 1st gen bulb installed, I can do it. it's not a problem. :) Of course you can change yourself too but as it takes a little bit of finger acrobatics to do it for the first time I think it is best that the preinstalled one is the correct one.

The earlier mentioned mr. Weed's Venus review, that was actually the first gen unit so it was no slouch either, but the aim in design has been to improve the vapor formation all the time, so that people who need a strong medicating effect could get that easily and safely with our vaporizers and now with the Apollo, wherever they go, without compromises.

yeah, I liked the dark one too but I showed these side by side to 4 other people and all said they preferred the natural, that is is "more fresh". And the natural color seems to darken quite quickly, that was just finished but now about 48 hours later it looks already darker. So I don't know if I'll make more those stained ones, if someone feels like he wants that dark one, please inform me in time. :)

Here a little quick video that shows the controls. First the vape is turned on. This happens as you can see, by holding the boost for 2 secs to wake it up, then finger going from bottom upwards, and then back downwards. Halogen becomes active, and the 2 red lights inform you that the warm up is active. The warm up is stopped manually with a press of a boost, I just wanted to show how it works, not to get vapors.

Then I adjust power level up and down, and the vape signals the power level with flashes and vibrations. and boosting. And then turn off.

Then I show how to enter the boost power / warm up configuration menu. 4 times upwards swipe. Then I choose button 2 which is maximum boost power, and the vape turns off automatically, saving the setting to the internal flash memory.

then I show how to enter stealth mode / power map configuration menu. 4 times downwards swipe. I choose boost button, which turns both off, vibrations and signal lights as well as the light shining inside glass tube. And then I demonstrate how it is to use it without any signals. In the video it looks still far from stealthy as the light of halogen shines trough so strongly. But that is just because the chamber is empty, normally the herbs block the light.

I must say that having the ability to swap the engine of my machine at will has an incredible appeal to the engineer inside me... :brow:

So to sum up, we have 3 options at least: standard 2nd gen, ligther 1st gen, and heavier 1st gen? Plus the boost mode independant of the chosen bulb.

I read @Mulehead's sentence above about getting one's VAS down to a small itch, and the post below I stumble on that gorgeous picture and realize I'm weak and the force is strong in this one! :ninja:

yes you are correct, the 2nd gen bulb @20W, then the 1st gen bulb 20w, and we also stock high power 1st gen bulbs which are 25W, and then also 30W 1st gen bulbs are available trough 3rd parties as I linked earlier. And the possibility to adjust boost power to low setting should be ideal for those high powered bulbs.

Excellent so we can expect a power output on par with the Mighty/Crafty yet lower than the Zion (the king of the jungle will be hard to beat and no upcoming portable vape for 2016 so far will come anywhere close)

PS : yes I know that the peak power figure is only one part of the equation, as efficiency is also very important and clearly outlined by the difference between your 1st and 2nd generation bulbs.

I knew it! You just have to whisper "insane power" to summon instantly @IAmKrazy2!!!

A 2nd gen 50W bulb option, that would be plain crazy @villekille2, I love the idea! I'm from your side of the pond, but if I have single advice to give you (as I know that we have a different usage culture on the Old Continent) it would be: do not underestimate the lung capacity of our fellow yankees! When they rip their large and complex glass pieces with water, they can exceed the heat exchange capacity of most heaters on the market (we're talking portable devices here of course)

It might sound silly to you now, but if this option is available I'm pretty sure it will be used and abused!
