im using the oens you get from Planet vape and I dome em to make em fit down in there. works great! :)

I bought my buddy a m420 off massdrop recently. that's cool to know the screen fits well also!

I don't know how intensive everyone else is with cleaning the atomizer, but under my screen area, it was getting really caked over with a hard residue on the atomizer walls and closing off the air path. I had to spend quite some time chipping at it, hard as a rock build up in there. Now, even though I was unable to remove all of it on the first pass, I made enough impact to cause my sub perform more like new again, so if you are cleaning your screens, but still finding the air path becoming more restricted, look closer at the atomizer. I still have not exposed metal in that section, just got some of the build up out of the way. I've had mine running pretty much non stop since mid June with some cleaning but obviously not enough. Performance is back on par. :)

Funny you say that Jam. I just spent at least 2 hours cleaning my atomizer, Apollo, glass, Apollo stand, tools, etc. Lots of chipping, scraping, and wiping. The stuff coming off is like a rock obsidian dust or shard. I burnt a small piece and it smelled like hash. There are a bunch of extra, unused threads in the atomizer. That area was very hard to completely clean.

In a post, Enrico, mentions keeping the atomizer parts clean for best results. I had a serious tarnish in my bowl that must have had a negative impact.

Hitting some flowers at 35watts cashing bowls one hit.

After a good session of chipping "resin" away about a month ago, I keep a mflb brush around and before EVERY sesh I brush the whole bowl out thoroughly. Zero gunk build up now. Just brush off the bottom screen and your whole bowl. You can even warm it up a little bit and then brush for hard the get bits.

I have a fine screen lodged in there and clean both the screen and atty at the same time, usually once a week. The fine screen tends to get clogged up fast especially with oil use, I might switch to a coarser screen since I really only use it to prop up the Sub screen and keep bud from dropping down.

Seems to be easier to scrape clean when you do it more often. I usually do a few short soaks in PBW (with some extra powder in the atty), sometimes ISO if needed too, and after some scrapping it comes out looking and working like brand new.

I hate scraping but I know it's in the future, I do a high heat up with torch on my ufo/atty and then do a number of dry pulls with no material in the bowl, I read to do that in this thread somewhere to help keep the sub clean. This also gets a lot of the sublimate oil to collect at the bottom of the atomizer downstem for easy collection, perhaps doing this on occasion will also minimize the hard resin buildup that requires scraping?

A high pressure steam cleaner might work if you can figure out how to point the steam in the right place. I've let my Atomizer and Sputnik soak in near boiling water for awhile to clean it after I accidentally combusted about a month ago (wasn't paying attn to torch heat time and packed too much herb in bowl witch came into contact with sputnik sparking combustion - a real no no, will never do that again - don't pack your sub bowls too full, kids).

I take about an hour or less to clean up everything. Honestly if you just let all the parts sit in a cup of 90% ISO and just clean your bong out first it's a lot faster. I use Q tips to clean the inner lining of my atomizer barrel and triple check for any cotton clogs at the top threads but not much seems to stick because I had it soaked again and shook it a bit. My Q tips usually are drenched in alcohol so I never really had a problem cleaning the inner threads to the top atomizer. The teflon is clean everytime and still white. I'd say I had been using this technique ever since my first clean run. My first time took 2 hours or a little more because it was a cold atomizer (hadn't used it with the apollo). I find that if you want to unscrew the atomizer it is best to let it heat up with the apollo beforehand and use some protection when unscrewing cause it will burn you. I have been burned but it builds as a sensation now and as well as experience into becoming a careful subber.

James Brown did a Christmas album!?! Where's THAT been all my life!

The Sub is fucking awesome...it's all about portion control. if I do too much I lose my high. but if I do a little bit at a time I am richly rewarded. right now is how I've been trying to feel for a couple of months!

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I never 'lose my high' if I do too much.... the sub hits me 'dab like' with flowers, and if I do too much it's just like when I take too big a dab with it's massive volume in my lungs forcing me into a bronch attack, followed by a sweat while pulling a whitey :ko:

Yeah I agree with you on this one. You can never go wrong when you take your time. Seriously. I am doing a bowl-by-bowl comparison and I have yet to see me completely extracting everything at 32.2-32.5 watts. I will post up the pictures soon. Basically 32 watts will pull the flavors well and give a nice light medium vapor or if you rip it in one toke it is massive. All my hits are usually at .1 so I never can go wrong. I feel poised to be active on FC because taking your time with posting and vaping really makes you become a better typer. At least for me it does. I try to correct myself often so maybe a hit or two and I'll be stuck on a post for about ten minutes before I start to actually post. In the end, I save herb and I'm more productive.

I thought I was doing okay without a watt meter before, but it's so much better with one. I'm apprehensive with increasing it since it can be easy to combust and without the feedback from a meter I was actually hitting it around 27 watts most of the time. I'm getting better hits around 31-33 watts now.

I also got a read on my E-Nail and it's maxing out at 33-34 watts. Seems a bit low and hits like it too, what are other E-Nail owners getting for a max reading? It's not a huge issue since I can torch it a bit to bump up the temp but I have a feeling I'll have to do a warranty return on it.

I finally got to hit the Sublimator this last weekend and it was awesome! I was back in San Diego and my Pops has the Limited Edition Kit, it was really freaking awesome....

He kinda hits it slow and takes his time ...

But I was clearing fat hits like a bong... but without the water... I was surprised I didn't mind not having water but it didnt seem to need it...

He hinted at getting me one for the winter solstice but I havent want to mention it cause heathens like us fear jinxs and such...

I have developed a technique, for those that wedge screens, to help keep the screens clean. After the bowl is tapped out carefully blow once or twice into the bottom of the atomizer. Some debris should shoot out.

Right now, I am using two, beat up ultra fines PV screens, stacked under a wedged stock Sublimator screen. Pretty much clean my screens every 24 hours. Need that optimal airflow for insane knee knocking hits.

Still no Ti Sublimators. Maybe next year.

Any word on the borosilicate glass tube edition? Sublimator Medical needs some inventory... I am so sad that I have missed the Herbalizer train as I don't have enough. Have fun to whoever got their hands on one. This Christmas feels better than the last one nevertheles. I have a Sublimator and it's just the matter of hunting down really good strains to taste. Black Russian and a handful of new OGs has been all flavorful and wonderful vapors at 32 watts. I suppose go 33.5w to wipe out all trichomes. I found my dumpings to be more golden brown. Maybe perhaps another hit but didn't do complete extraction. Just wanted terpeneoids and the effects quick. At 33.5 or 34 watts it turns almost orange brown. Any higher and you can get medium dark brown to black. I usually save my ABV for keeping track and eventually making brownies which I have yet to even attempt. Too stoned most of the time lol. Baking kills my high most times. Each .1 estimated to be 4 to 7 hits depending on quality of your herbs. The better, the more tokes you receive.

I have good herbs and I'm only getting one big hit out of a .1. Are you taking small lungfulls or something?
