That means you've got quality material. The trichomes melt together. You can use this to your advantage by tapping the LB carefully and getting it to flip over. Of course, poking it and breaking it up is another alternative.

Welcome to the Forum, glad you're enjoying your LB.

In general, clumping comes from too much moisture in the goods going it. This also contributes extra fouling and slows the vape process down by robbing heat. You're on the right track I think. Try a little more drying on some (I find a quick grind speeds this up), followed by a second fine grind and see if that effects the results.

My 'take' (could well be off) is the steam melts trichomes and surface resins and kind of glues stuff in place. For the box to work well the goods have to flow freely over the screen.

I got the same thing. Notice the box color? Doesn't look much like the new unit except the shape of the new trench? Not only is there no light, but there's also no serial number (it's been removed from mine), to me this is clearly a special test rig but it was sent with the Kava extract a custom dispenser (very small dabs needed) and the extract. And detailed instructions for testing the Kava.....not the box. We were asked to report on the Kava, not the box. And of course there's the NDA in play.

So yes, I'm kind of old fashioned about things like this, I viewed the test confidential and the gear as not belonging to me until the test was declared over. I don't consider it mine to sell, loan out or use for other purposes until then. No problems with others who see their responsibilities differently, just explaining why I never tried oil in a unit I don't still consider mine.

I definitely make every effort to be honest with folks and present information as best I know it. I don't lie. I think I share these traits with others invited to be Beta Testers......in fact I think honesty is a key point here. If anyone ever doubts my honesty or sincerity (or wants to ask why......), please feel free to PM me. Folks do with 'what's the real story you're not telling the other guys....' posts from time to time, no problem.

I want folks to have confidence in what I and 'the usual suspects' say, as I believe most do.

Regards and Merry Christmas to all.

I was surprised when @Buildozer had posted that video of the concentrate box, but instead of assuming that he was breaking some NDA and/or letting the proverbial cat out of the bag, I sent him a PM asking if he had cleared it with MF. I should've known better as I know him pretty well and he wouldn't do something so blatant without approval.

I learned that he not only had approval (encouragement?) from someone at MF, but at least three people at MF (including the CEO and Sales Director). He also got the OK to discuss the Kava Terra testing. Even with this information, I decided that I would not post my walnut box until MF made some type of official announcement, which is exactly what I did.

Confidentiality ends when both parties agree that it's ok. 'Nuff said.

Well played, Stu. I'd even go a step further, where it ends depends on the original agreement. I can see situations were a party is released from responsibility without agreeing as well as others where the original conditions have been satisfied (say for instance an agreed to date is reached?), but one side wants to keep the secret. In such cases 'hey, wait a minute we want to change the rules.....' doesn't matter IMO, a deal's a deal.

I too assumed BD was wearing a white hat, I just thought he was taking about another product....... Maybe there's more to that Kava stuff than I thought?

Yes, simply put is concentrating the THC bearing material, removing the non active stuff if you will. From simply picking the most potent part of the buds on through screening for kief, or Trichomes (dry or wet) through chemical solvent type extractions (letting alcohols, liquid gasses or other solvents dissolve the good stuff out of 'the compost'). THC might go from 15% or so to maybe 80% as improved steps are taken, price goes up too.

In this case people are talking about Hash Oils and Waxes But also Kief and pressed kief (or old school hashish). In a perfect world I would live somewhere that I had access to such But I do LOVE my Buds.

I use the LB finishing grinder after initial grind with space case. So it must be the moisture. What's the best way to dry, in trench or beforehand?

Either way works fine so you can let it air dry. While you air dry the bulk you could dry what your vaping to start with in the trench.

But if you can grind with the Finishing grinder most likely its dry enough. I would think its more what pakalolo said and you just have very kind sticky sweet Buds that need more shaking and stirring.

More then likely the Best and only "Trouble" you'll have with your Launch Box.

Just ordered a PA 2.0 and glyph batteries from PV! Can't wait to try the box with the PA. I'm hoping it rejuvenates my love for the box. Same goes for the batts!

You could always try the old 2 nickels in a pill bottle trick too. Turns nugs into dust.

I'm only talking from my own experience, but even with both really dry material and the pill bottle trick, I still have the small "issue" of the herb sticking to itself on the first 1 or 2 hits when I use my highest quality material.
I usually just gently poke it with the other end of the cleaning brush and then it's ready to go for the rest of the session.

So my point is that even with really dry material and the proper grind, you could still have this issue with quality material, but I don't think that's really something to worry about.

My goal is too re introduce the mflb into my rotation as a during the day device as some days I feel too sleepy from too big of vapor hits. Hoping to use it on the go a lot more as well. Pa 2.0 is really gunna help dial in good bong rips too. I'm excited to jam with this bad boy on my amp again.

I know what you mean. Danky dank glues itself in the shape of the trench. But, I found out really early on that if you're cool with sacrificing half a hit, you can take that first tasty rip, then take the second one without shaking. The heat seems to break up the stickiness of it enough that I don't have to open the lid or anything, just a nice few shakes.

Yea, I got the PA 2.0 a month or so ago. Ever since, the MFLB is almost all I use. Haven't even touched my other units (including desktop) lately.

I'm really hoping this will happen to me, as tired of hauling a desktop around ( sublimator UFO) and my solo seems to not have good effect you are just using it for long periods of time. Hopefully PV will ship it boxing day and I can get it for the new year!

Hello. Long time partaker of herb. New user of the Mflb. My impressions after about 10 days of doing 3-5 trenches a day. By following the advice of many things I have read and watched. I find this to be a life changer for me. Granted I dont have any other vaporizer to compare it to, but by using good technique and using fine dry ground herb I am having a fantastic experience with this. The buzz is cleaner and clearer. I tried to smoke a joint. Out of a metal pipe and out of a glass pipe after a week of using the Mf. It all tasted like crap. It has ruined me for smoking I think. I love the 1st few hits of the trench. I can actually taste the citrus flavors. At any rate I have learned a great deal from this site and the MFLB site. Thank you!

@JVegas Welcome to the world of vaporizing and fuckcombustion.

You made a great choice in the Magic flight. Although I have a handful or two of other vaporizers and the Launch Box was my second vape(vg classic was first) still the little box could well serve as my only vape, it's a fine vaping tool in a small package. Glad you found a new way to enjoy life with good ol' Mary Jane.

And Wishing all you Magic Flighters a very vapor filled Merry X-Mas ! Enjoy !

I never really use the mflb around the house but I just got the appropriate size of silicon tubing so I put together a WPA.

Enjoying my mflb all day in anticipation for my PA and glyph batts on Monday! I'm enjoying the high from my box again, keeps me buzzed without burnin out too hard. Compared to hitting my sublimator hard mid day and feeling tired the rest of the day.

I've just finished a session with the beta concentrate box.
I melt the concentrate into the screen using a batt for 2, 3 seconds
you havecan watch it melt even after you disengage the batt.
Now the shit won't move and you have 2 to 4 excellent hits stored in the screen.
The only prob. is the hits are so harsh that a water path is necessary, for me at least.
I tried to use the vapolution barrel which cooled the hit , but I still coughed.
Could be the type of concentrate...... I'm blitzed.

I must now approach the forum with tail between legs, revealing my ignorance.

My tale. Because my friend is prone to finding hits a little irritating, I ventured into the waterpipe market (of which I have zero experience) first picking up Magic Flight's water pipe adaptor then scratching my head while perusing pictures of waterpipes on the internet. All I knew was I needed a 14 mm pipe and I didn't want to spend too much money on one in this experimental stage. When I learned the water level should be just high enough to cover the downstem I noticed the downstem on this cheapy pipe is one-piece with the slide. I referred back to the video on Magic Flight's website and, of course, when they pulled out the slide to finish the hit the downstem stayed put, dipped in the water. Not good.

A little help, ladies and gentlemen. Did I buy too cheap? Was it my responsibility to let the salesperson know I need one with separate components? Is there a workaround so I can make this thing work? Surely it can't be too hard.

The wpa comes apart and becomes a whip. You might be able to put the whip end into the slide. Pics/links of the piece?
