Ye loving the custom woods!!, Walnut baby

Still sat here looking at my new replacement box!
Waiting to hear back from the MFLB team,
because i don't want to use it in case they want me to send it back,
found myself comparing the subtle differences in dimensions, grain and shade haha, it's killing me,

Might just have to bust a heavy load in my verdamper,
guaranteed coughing fit, followed by the inevitable stonner-coma, haha

Question: is there a verdamper thread? cannot find much mention of it on FC?

i use the finishing grinder not sure if it get as fine as a coffee grinder but it's more convenient, and it seems to do a good enough job. does not look as fine as you have achieved in the previous pictures, did you use a coffee grinder?

Neither did I, I vastly prefer to trust folks as a default. We're here to help each other, IMO it works better than way. It opens you up to deceit and worse but to not take folks at face value is a big old risk the other way where the stakes include angry stoners copping an attitude about 'vapers' and returning to balzing....not at all good IMO.

I don't want to be second guessing the honesty, integrity and motivations of folks using assumed names coming to us for help and advice. Nor do I think most of us?

I am, once again, extremely grateful for the background protection for being played for fools provided by Pak and his fellow Mods! Without them 'watching our backs' we could not enjoy this Forum and all the good things it provides to the 11,000 plus Members (and who knows how many lurkers) who play it honestly and try to contribute rather than exploit.

Without their constant efforts this Forum, like so many others, we degrade to near uselessness in time for Spring for sure.

Bravo Pak! Thanks to you and the other guardians at our gate. Your efforts keep us on the rails and allow us great freedoms within the framework to explore this exciting and useful technology. In a better world those who try to defraud us here by lies would be hunted down by the peasants with torches and we'd be rid of them.....

I find no matter how dry the weed im using is or how finely it's ground it always sticks together on the first hit and I can't shake it up without opening the lid and breaking up this clump of weed by the third or fourth hit it stops doing that and it's alot easier to shake it up, anyone else experiencing this?

The stickier your herb is, the more it will stick together. I have the same problem occasionally. Nothing you can really do about it.

Ok, I just had several hits from my new cherry LB, so yeah....that could have been worded better!

Let's try this again...."The BETTER your herb is, the stickier it will be, and will cause the problem you are describing." :p

Yes, as Vicki the wise points out it's often bud dependent, sticking together at first is really a very good thing sometimes..... You want it under the right conditions.

I'm in the habit of taking a hit or two (until the flavor fades a bit) then dumping the load into my left palm and breaking it up with thumb and forefinger (crumbles easily when it's finally water free), it's quick and tidy (I don't spill any if I'm reasonably careful). From there out it flows freely and vapes wonderfully until it's given it's all. The trick is to dry it enough so it's not the least bit sticky first.

Best wishes, enjoy the little rascal, it's a neat one isn't it?

Maybe. For those who understand 'moist' is different from 'sticky' I think the idea really got through fine the first time.....well at least I understood it.....

I've found that, assuming you don't start at too high of a temperature, the herb will eventually "unstick" if you hit it a few more times, in time for you to shake it and get to work on the stuff that was on top. I think if you start at a higher temp you may end up with vaped herb at the bottom with sticky herb on top of it, which is less optimal because to use heat to unstick would cause the weed on the bottom to cook longer than you might have wanted... Then again, sometimes it ends up perfect so that you can flip the whole load like a pancake before the herb completely separates again. :)

I think it does have a lot to do with it.

When I went back and read my OP, I noticed how stupid I sounded. I thought I should re-word it, if only for my own peace of mind. :)

Yes, same thing here, but as already stated, not really a problem IMO.

I use an electrical grinder, it takes me basically 2 minutes to grind 1 gram as fine as what I posted with little to no effort. After two minutes, what hasn't passed through the grid are some tiny stems and a few bits of leafs.
After that, I pass the stuff through a smaller grid, to obtain this:

This is the grinder I use.

It seems to me that you have a a lot higher chance of cumbusting with that method, but I think I ill give it a shot anyhow thanks for your help guys :)

On a side note I've been on hold with Microsoft customer support for over an hour, currently loading trench 3....

wow, that is a pretty impressive grind, almost keif levels
you must achieve some thick clouds! and get through a trench that much quicker
had a little look, could only find detailed descriptions in french,
but looks like that mesh screen is built in?
also seems like it runs on battery', AA?

    Question on vaporizing keif,
i use this 00 pocket box to store my herbs and collect the THC below, but i've not used any yet
how would i go about vaping this in my flight box? i presume the MFLB's screen is that much finer but i don't want to clog it up, anyone got any experience with pollen/keif

This is about the same one as this one (Chinese website).
It's powered by 3xAAA batteries (which last pretty long). Contrary to the one on dx.com, mine have a first aluminium part with built in mesh screen where you put your material to be grinded, and as you grind it, it then falls through the screen and into the plastic part.
The main con about this thing is that the plastic part is screwed to the aluminium one, and the metal tends to bites in the plastic every time I screw it back on... It sure looks cool to see the material falling into that transparent part, but I'm not sure it's really worth it.

About kief, I'm pretty sure the MFLB screen will do fine, but if it do the same as with my finest grind, you will have to draw reeaally slow if you don't want everything to fly inside your box.

When I wrote the post that you quoted, I was puffing on my box with the power adapter and briefly forgot about using the box with batteries, the normal way you know  Anyways trying to keep the temperature low like I was saying, stretching out your session, would be more of an advanced technique to try and replicate regularly with the batteries, I think. To reliably learn to do it with the batteries you'd need to really "know your vapor," in terms of keeping the vaping temperature low-but-high-enough to both enjoy that first half of the trench and get through the unstick period without over-vaping the bottom and risking combustion, like you said.

I tend to use my box differently when I'm on batts and out-and-about so I think about the process differently there, hence my uncertainty towards trying too hard to follow my previous post if you're new to the box and/or using batteries. The most important point here, I think, is that there are many ways to enjoy and use the box. I personally love to over-think things (guilty pleasure), so there's that. It's a real help to have a place like this in which to absorb the thoughts of others who are older and more "thunk", to get a wider view of things and bounce your ideas out once in a while… Great place run by great folks who seem to have attracted other great folks, and so on. I think FC will be "winning" for years to come. :peace:

And, just now I scroll up to your post again to see your sig and realize you do have the PA. Oh well, I think I'll leave what I wrote, who knows how many lurk, it could help someone. Cheers

Naw, not a bit of it. You guys are 'a well oiled machine', too bad we can't reduce those Italian guys Vitolo knows that like to hurt people and PM them over to 'reason' with the little egos that get off lying to the trusting adults.......

Until then, keep standing those watches, please. We count on you to smell the rats out for us, otherwise we'd have to look sideways at every innocent in need coming here for advice. For which life is entirely too short IMO.

Gee, you don't suppose GC'd like to do some cost sharing do you? Maybe we could get Vitolo's guys plane tickets? Coach, of course.......

I love this little device. I've been puffing on the same trench I started with this morning and I'm still getting super baked. What a genius design; it's literally what I pick up to convince myself why I don't need another toy. This thing just gets the job done.
