Most places that sell paraphernalia bill your card with something vague and innocuous, with no mention of what you bought, and usually a secondary business name just for the billing end. e.g. PipesDaddy bills as "Northside Distributor". Your bank won't even blink.

I'm gonna wait until Tweek gets his, and he does a full-length video review of it, and then I'll decide if I need yet another vape... :)

This might be a dumb question but why would the bank even care? If my bank ever gives me grief I would drop them. Are you just worried there is a record of this purchase?

If the bank suspects that you're using its services to do anything even remotely illegal, I'm pretty sure they're required to report you to authorities. So it's mostly a covering-your-ass thing.

it's not illegal to follow a doctor shamen's advice to vaporize some white sage or valerian.

However, buying 5 vapes in 2 weeks might seem curious, even if not illegal. but only the NSA could notice that out of the petabytes that stream through the credit card processing centers.

What do you mean? It was someone else's point, I was just explaining/hypothesizing why vendors might use discrete banking info. If people are trying to be discrete, someone at some point must've gotten in trouble. It's just like using blank packaging - why bother, if the vape could just be for potpourri?

Anywho, shouldn't we be talking about the Herbalizer and not packaging paranoia?

I live on the east coast and the nsa can suck it. They can't assume I do anything illegal with this. Tons of herb shops around anyways.

I hope this is under 400 and comes with a Genesis emulator. :)

Lots of talk about the price. I understand the desire to get something good for a low cost, but let's be realistic here. The amount of research, development, and technology going into this vape are at levels far beyond anything previously seen in this industry.

This really is a groundbreaking vape, and I encourage everyone who's interested to go back and read through this whole thread. Take a look at the pictures that were posted of the internals and compare that to the internals of something like the Vivape. For most people I think that performance is what matters at the end of the day, and lately we've seen a lot of those people plunking down relatively large sums on some relatively low-tech vapes (still not cheap to produce) because the performance is there.

I've only spent a small amount of time with a beta version of this vape last March, but I can confidently say that it was the best performing whip and bag vape that I've used. Yes, a dual mode vape that provides thicker, more consistent whip hits and thicker, faster bags than the the established single mode benchmark vapes.

I'm not saying that these are the undisputed benchmarks for everyone, but imagine a Volcano and SSV in one. Now take that beast, increase the performance, add a digital temperature control system far more accurate than anything on the market, and put it all in a sleeker, more compact package.

Sure sounds like I'm a salesman here, but that's my honest opinion. I'm also posting because I have some exciting news. The Herbalizer folks told me that they have a special announcement just for our little community. Soon. Maybe even tonight. Stay tuned. :)

Until then, this video is always welcome. :D

The fine folks behind the Herbalizer asked me to make an announcement on their behalf. :)

    In Pursuit of Perfection

To our esteemed evangelists and followers, we’d like to extend our gratitude for your patience and ongoing support, as well as your dialog, discussion, and defense of our endeavor. We’re thrilled to announce the Herbalizer’s price to the fuckcombustion.com community—first, and extend an exclusive offer.

Yeah, we know. It took us a while to get to market. But, after more than three years of passionate obsession and total dedication, our vision is finally coming to fruition, due in part to conversations, feedback and the unwavering support from the FC community.

In our pursuit of perfection, we spared no expense in the concept and creation of the Herbalizer. Our goal was to make something simple and intuitive to use—especially for medical patients, as well as something beautiful to behold. The Herbalizer’s subtle aesthetic was designed to enhance your environment, while also raising awareness, and expanding the acceptance of vaporization and its benefits.

    Ok, so the price already…

The Herbalizer will retail for $725, however, we’re offering the fuckcombustion community an exclusive, reserve price of $650 —a $75 discount. Take advantage of this special offer and RESERVE your Herbalizer by August 14, 2013, using the “fuckcombustion.com” code in the comments field (no credit card required, cancel anytime) and be among the first to receive the long awaited Herbalizer. We are ramping up production very slowly and availability is very limited, so if you are thinking about getting one reserve yours NOW and look for your Herbalizer to arrive in October, 2013.

Thank you again, fuckcombustion.com community—we can’t wait for you to be among the first to experience the Herbalizer.

Note: The cheap microphone amplified the fan frequency, in reality it is quiet.

Side note: If you've already filled out a pre-order, you'll need to do it again with the code to get the discount. They will find the duplicates and make the adjustment.

For those of you who have been lucky enough to try both, how does the Herbalizer in whip mode/paired with water tube compare with the new Cloud? Debating which to save up for. The Herbie obviously costs more because of the zillion awesome things it can do, but can it do water better?

...I'll probably get the Herbie, anyway, lol. My birthday is in October, so it can be my present to myself ;)

Reserved again, at the new discount, but given there's no country field I suspect I probably won't be able to buy this thing anyway. :c

Herbalizer guys? Is there going to be a 240v model? This thing becomes way less portable and convenient if I have to lug around a 10lb transformer with it too. I contacted you via the form on your site with the same question a couple weeks ago, but haven't had a reply as yet.

I don't think I'm personally looking for it to be better but in fact as good to make in my prime rotation. I think each vape serves a different purpose. I can't see the comparison between Herbie and the Cloud EVO. But I do see both being on top, there's no doubt that both will be dope!

    EDIT: Reserved

This looks great, I can't wait to try it out.

There's a sort of buzzing sound in the demo video, is that coming from the herbalizer? I can't figure out if its just ambient noise because you can hear it slightly before the herbalizer is turned on. It does seem to get louder once the camera is brought closer to the unit. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I love the looks and the science of this but it will have a hard time breaking into my lineup. I do wonder if it can dethrone the volcano but I'm not into bag vapes anyways. The forced air whip thing seems like it would be a cool thing to try but not at this price.

It looks like a great setup for a medical user with limited lung function but perhaps edibles would be better in that case. So while it's not for me I'm sure this will find a niche.

I was curious to know if you had to use the fan in whip mode or if you can just relax and draw on the whip at your own pace. I don't know if I would like having to constantly turn the fan on and off during my draws. I was hoping that it would be around the 500 dollar price point. It does look like an innovative new machine though.

I think from a taste perspective the Herbalizer would have a hard time beating a cloud/water combo only because the cloud is all glass (except the stainless steel of the ELB). Over time the whip will have some buildup which will affect taste and I have never had much success getting a whip clean. Every type of whip I have tried had this issue. However, from a convenience factor, precision temp control, and the multi-function use I think the Herbalizer would have the edge based on what I have read.

There is no perfect vape but now you have a nice high end alternative that excels for certain features.

I don't think anyone has tried both finished versions of these. I've owned a Cloud since beta and have tried the Herbalizer for a few days. Short answer: Apples and oranges. In my opinion, both are at the top of their respective classes. For the water question, the Cloud interfaces directly with 18mm glass joints and the Herbalizer uses a whip which can plug into a GonG adapter. There are benefits to each depending on your preference. Both produce effortless thick vapor than can fill large glassware. Personally I can't wait to own a Herbie and CEVO!

Text in green is from the Herbalizer team:

Only available for shipment within the US & Canada at first at 110V. We need to add a country field to the reservation form to specify US or Canada. An internal resistor change makes the unit run at 240V, however due to the limited availability that option won't be available for about a year. Also, we are overdue on responses to online inquiries.. we're doing everything we can between the hours of sleep.

Cheap microphone amplified the fan frequency, in reality it is quiet.

Yeah, there's some sort of weird mic pickup going on in the vid. The device is remarkably quiet, the fans are the only things that make noise and as I remember they were quieter than any other fans I've heard in a vape. The audio in that video is very misleading.

The fans only spin when you tell them to. I don't know what some other vape makers were thinking requiring an always on fan in a whip vape.

So it's voice-activated? If so, that feature does help address NinjaMindTriks concern about having to constantly turn the fan on and off rather than being able to relax. Not total relaxation as you have to constantly tell it what to do, but better than having to manually operate a switch.

If not, not so much as the fan will have to be manually turned on and off depending on if you're inhaling of not, which is what I believe the concern was.

As with the Extreme-Q, the "fan assist" is not necessary during whip mode. You can draw at your own pace (no fan required).

I agree that this "always on" fan (ViVape for example) that is meant to keep a unit from overheating should never be in the vapor path. The Herbalizer was designed with 3 dedicated fans, so this is not a problem with the Herbie at all.

It seems like the lid just sits freely on the base ready to be lifted to activate the sensor. Maybe I missed seeing something during the demo... Is there a latch up front so the lid can be secured properly while the unit is being moved?

Also, is there a way to turn the unit on and off manually instead of with the sensor so that the lid can be removed and the unit operated without flipping up and down?
