Well, obviously the starting point is room temperature for any vape.
I didn't say "starting point" ... I said "why are they starting at 290°F" which refers to the lowest temperature that you can set at the front panel, which does seem to be 290°F. Screen cap from herbalizer.com below:

So you think it can't vape at lower temps . even if you wanted to .

It looks like a no. Their website says that the "release date to be announced soon", but you can pre-order.

I hope they announce a price soon. I'm trying to decide what level perk to jump in the Eagle promo, and the cost and time-frame of this product will influence that.

There is some very good information in that video. Champs seems like a pretty big and unique event.They also changed the lid layout some... I like it allot. I like how they have the hole so that the crucible/bowl can sit in place on the magnet but still have the lid close around it. This is going to be a joy to travel with.

(Although now where do I put the spare screens?
)Actually, it would have been nice if the pad was on the same side as the oil, as it'd leave the whole other side free for user storage, and could hold longer items.

I'm really debating between this and a Volcano Digit. I signed up for the pre-order, but was really hoping that they would have given an estimate on the price.

iv tried a volcano, an my ssv, the cloud, sublimator all blow it out of the water bro. Volcano is very old school plus taste wise bags sucks makes it stale.

Yeah, I've only tried the Volcano and the MFLB, so I'm extremely limited in terms of experience with vaporizers. I just want the ability to have pinpoint precision in terms of temperature. However, I really want into to get into water facilitated vaping, which the Volcano does not seem conducive to.
I hope they stick to their word and give us a price before the end of the month. They've had a debut at CHAMPS, a big launch party at the MGM Grand, and have been accepting pre-order reservations for a couple of days now. Why all the secrecy at this stage of the game?
The hints I saw on FB indicate you are probably looking at around the 5-600 dollar mark. Hopefully they will release the price soon, but I can't imagine it being much cheaper than that, considering the technology inside and the price point of the Volcano, Cloud, Minivap, etc.
But here is hoping

I estimate that this device could sell for $350 at a reasonable profit. I predict that will be the settling point of the pricing, once supply and demand have their way.
Yeah, I won't be surprised if they price it at $500, but that will only fly because of availability. If they go higher than $500, I think they've misinterpreted the market or simply strategized around high margin/low volume...

It's being advertised as a high end unit. They've made it a point to make sure you know how much space age engineering has gone into the device, and because of that I'm almost certain it won't be under $500.
And I'm okay with that

Unless you have an intimate knowledge of their costs, then we have no way of truly knowing what their profit margin will be. Considering it is still a relatively niche market, $500+ may very well be the only way they will make enough money to stay afloat, in order to one day offer discounts down the road.
Until then, we are just guessing. I'd love to see it come in at $350, as I am a firm believer in making devices accessible to all medical patients, but the reality of the costs of producing these sorts of high tech devices for a niche market, may make that hard at the present time.
I just know it's gonna be good because of all the Genesis references (can I get some BLAST PROCESSING on my vaporizer please?!) but also not feeling quite enthusiastic about the lack of pricing. Everything points to "this is gonna be really expensive"... but if the price is manageable and the reviews are good this looks like something I'd want in my collection

It dosn't seem like the "pre order" is any more than a newsletter sign up. They don't require any kind of payment information. My guess it when they become available those people will be notified, or even better yet those people will probably have a spot saved in line. Then they can choose if they want to buy it or not when they're turn comes up.
