Just wanted to say thanks again for the help and the support on getting this going over here as well as on MassDrop. I've really been appreciating your help!

Correctomundo. We've had some other items added to the MassDrop Poll, and we're at 211/200 needed people to contact Arizer and get the deal going. MassDrop is working on Arizer contact and hopefully they come back with some deals on Solo's and accessories!

The official MassDrop link is - https://www.massdrop.com/vote/summer-2013-arizer-massdrop-sale

The sale is through them, not a third party or internet random.

You're right. He needs many many more. Then we get better deal. He resells them, everyone wins!

Well... not really. But, wishful thinking.

Waiting for MassDrop to pay, but the MSRP they list is $128.61, and in June MD has it on for $119.95. If we have a high amount of people follow through, it may be cheaper than that, as we have more people than there was in June (119 purchased in the last drop).

We've had 214 votes in under 36 hours, so it's progress!

Just wanted to say that I got my Solo (latest model/ full guarantee) in the June Massdrop for US120 plus shipping. The only issue was that it took almost a month to arrive due to customs issues with the initial Massdrop order.

OK, I moderate the /r/vaporents subreddit, where I'm known as Bit_Chewy. Ialmostthewholepost is a frequent contributor, and has been for at least 6 months - and on Reddit in general for well over 2 years, with some 12000 karma (meaning a very active redditor). We try to keep a pretty tight rein on spam on the sub, and I'm satisfied that this doesn't qualify.

You mean... I'm a real boy?!

    *Pulls a Pinocchio*

But honest, thank you for the validation and background check. I knew I should have built an account on here back when I joined Reddit - which I joined because I was getting into MMJ in the first place - but just didn't want too many things to monitor back then. Long story.

Now, fuck it, and fuckcombustion. :D

I knew I should have added a smilie. I fucking knew it. Was meant in playful jest, I too have been watching and waiting and am only now able to follow through. :)

    MASSDROP HAS HEARD US!

258 total votes, 211 for the Solo so we win!

Nelson of MassDrop - We are moving as quickly as we can, will keep everyone updated as we find out more.

Will of MassDrop - Between this poll, your discussion posts, and the reddit links, there's clearly a boatload of interest in the Arizer Solo. We're talking with Arizer now and we should be able to launch within the next few days.

    Hopefully that works for ya'll.

Shipping is all based on weight and we generally charge only what it costs us to ship. Shipping for the Arizer is probably going to be around $10 domestic if I had to guess. Canadian is a bit trickier. Arizer is based in Canada but they dont want to drop ship (which is fine, that's why we've got a fulfillment center of our own). That said, our fulfillment center is located in California and we think it's pretty silly to ship something from Canada, to the states, then back to Canada.

To rectify that, we're working with some of our existing business partners in an attempt to setup a temporary Canadian fulfillment center. This is still VERY preliminary but we're doing our best to make this as affordable as possible!

If that's not viable, we'll do our best to minimize shipping costs to Canada.

Looks like they're doing something to fix the issues with shipping and customs for us Canadians since there's a large percentage of us interested in the buy! Hopefully tomorrow (Wednesday) will bring further word from Arizer on whether they will work with us or not, and a price point so that the DROP can happen!

IF YOU AS A CONSUMER WISH TO URGE THIS ON, EMAIL ARIZER

Others have suggested it, and I agree - I think it's a fabulous idea for Arizer to receive some mail from us Solo fans! The contact page for Arizer is here - http://arizer.com/contacts/

Be polite and courteous, ask them to support this sale - https://www.massdrop.com/vote/summer-2013-arizer-massdrop-sale

If you're a Canadian let them know, as this will help sway their support on the above information regarding setting up a temporary distribution centre at a friendly retailer to ship to us from MassDrop to save us customs fees and keeps shipping cheap since it will not come to Canada from the US in CA if this happens

As it should be and is, warranty is through Arizer.

MassDrop is American so you guys get good deals on shipping. We Canadians get dinged $20 shipping and $20 to $30 for customs, making it significantly more expensive even though Arizer's manufacturing is in Canada. For us Canadians, having the chance to get the price you guys pay and potentially have the shipping in Canada for Canadian customers to cut about $30 to $35 dollars in getting the product to us is like being the giver in surprise buttsecks and somehow still getting a reach around. Virtually non existent for that to happen.

For you Americans or other, shipping would be as normal. We have just had a significant response in Canada.

The last MassDrop advised that the warranty was through Arizer, which it how it would be regardless of where you buy it such as a head shop or eBay or online store, unless a retailer offers some form of extended warranty above and beyond the manufacturer warranty which I haven't found.

Sorry this isn't true when we use vendors in the USA. They take care of us if we have issues so we don't have the expense of sending the solo/charger to Canada. It really isn't worth it for the people in Canada either cause you can get it without looking for $160 in Canada no boarder fees or taxes. So unless it is maybe $100 with shipping so 90+10 IMO it isn't worth the hassle as we have been having some charger issues recently. I suggest really adding up all the fees and see what you end up with before you decide to do it. I believe someone already mentioned to have an authorized dealer who works with us is worth it in some cases and this may be one of them. Ebay is a whole different story. We work with PV in Canada and Puffitup in the USA and they both treat us well.

For loading, I use a few twist of the scs and pack down with no issue. I do leave a smidge of space if I am inclined as not to foul up the ss.

I'm not sure that's right, at least the 'as it should be' part. Typically dealer agreements involve more than just cheap prices, the dealers are often required to provide service and other support to end users to justify discounting the prices. This is why 'the gray market' thrives in many cases. Unethical dealers seek more profit by ducking their contracted obligations forcing the maker to take up the slack.

The maker, of course, has to 'pass the costs along' to those of us playing by the rules. No free lunch here, either.

My warranty problem with my first Solo was covered by PIU "as it should be" IMO. That was the agreement. I expect PV to stand behind the ones I bought from them, as they too are legitimate dealers honoring their FTA.

Have you actually checked with the maker to see if he's cool with this, or just guessing? Delta 9 and Magic Flight have both had very public disagreements here. D9 had to resort to charging customers who bought from 'shady' dealers (not saying that's the case here) who were not honoring their Fair Trade Agreement $50 for warranty service to avoid penalizing those of us who did not. MF had to put up with scam artists on Ebay who sanded the serial numbers off (highly illegal in most states) to cover their tacks.

So, have you actually asked, does this have the maker's support? I suspect PIU and PV aren't real happy with being undercut......nor IMO should they be. I'm all in favor of low prices, but I'm also dead set against rewarding those who break their commitments.....and penalizing those who honor theirs.

I ordered my solo from the same distributor and it was very fast shipping. There was a problem with my first solo with the charging so he honored the warranty and I sent it back to him and sent me a brand new one within a week and a half  So my experience with that dealer is very positive.

I didn't realise that. Usually here in Canada the warranty is through the manufacturer unless there's an extended warranty purchased, except for more major appliances. Like if I bought a stereo here in Canada at Target and it broke down, the stereo manufacturer would administer the warranty, at least to the best of my knowledge, unless it's broken when you just get it home or something. But, it sounds like the US is different, a gap in my knowledge.

There is a bit of messaging going on behind the scenes. I was originally organising on reddit and was advised by members there to post it over here, unaware of the symbiotic FC/PV so I'm trying to dance between people's toes right now because of my mistake. Our members there wanted to do a MassDrop as they want that security, my personal plan was to approach retailers and let them set their prices based on our numbers, and then hold a vote to pick the best one. Then we organised via MD.

As far as warranty, I did not realise that, completely my misunderstanding of how things work in the US as I explained further above in this post. My fuck up, but should still be true for Canada.

Because shipping is $26.95 for Canadians, and customs runs around the same. So any Canadians buying from eBay pay about $50 extra just to get it shipped.

Seems really odd you are paying customs on this since its made in Canada, that would make it double dipping wouldnt it?

PV as far as I know warranty's the solo as well and they are in Canada. I have not heard of any member having to send it back to arizer if they bought from pv or piu.

i'm a little confused since iv'e never heard of massdrop.. you vote so they will contact the manufacturer, right.. then once they do, depending on how many voters actually buy it, determines the price drop?.. when do you find out what price its going to actually go for? i don't want to commit until i know that.. i voted though.. i assume there is no obligation.

Tell me about it. Hence why it's a big deal for us to get shipping within Canada. We rarely get to get a good deal online without either overpaying in country, or ordering from the US and getting a good deal but get fucked on shipping and customs. Too bad that isn't determined by country of origin for the manufacturer.

You've nailed the description to the best of my knowledge. I'm not clear on the finalisation process as this is my first one. We'll hopefully have information from MassDrop soon, they've been quiet today so I'm hoping that's a sign of being busy being the scenes.
