Does the Gr8tr with the coarse plate result in a medium grind?

That's awesome! Would love to know more about your experience, what is the grind consistency/quality like? I awesome medium-fine and quite even? I've heard bad stuff about the owner of Mendo and crappy CS, but that was ages ago. I'm pretty sure its my next grinder!

I'd say more on the medium to fine side. Depending on the cure of the bud, sometimes the fine plate isn't that much finer than the medium. When I had my Gr8tr solid body, I NEVER used the fine plate. The coarse plate was perfect, but sometimes I yearned for something a little coarser (just my personal preference for the vapes that I use). With the Supreme 3 and Solo you don't really need to grind, but when I do I want it on the coarser side for better airflow and flavour. I also get bad allergies when the grind is too fine for some reason, perhaps more kief gets through screens, etc.

I can't believe how hard it has been to choose/find the right grinders over the years. Recently it's been the Lift Innovations and Kannastor...in the past it's been space case, SCS, and sharpstone.... but never really satisfied overall.

My next grinders will be the Mendo Mulcher as mentioned, SW2, and new sharpstone. I'll probably give space case another shot for nostalgia down the road too.

Gotta love vape accessories and toys! Far too addicting of a hobby!

I was thinking about getting a SCS 3-piece small. I have a Jumbo SCS & love it! Don't even use my SC anymore. Last year they didn't even have a small 3-piece. I asked them if they were out & they replied that they didn't make the 3-piece in small & had no plans to. I was pleasantly surprised to see they changed their mind.

I would call the grind a consistent "medium" as it's not too fine, but not really coarse either. I can't comment on the CS part as I've never had a need to contact them beyond my purchase transactions which went just fine. :2c:

So I just wanted to post an experience I had with Lift Innovations. I purchased the grinder from a member here on FC. Problem with the Grinder was the damn screen keeps falling out. Cleaned the damn thing no matter what screen keeps falling out. Sent Lift an Email telling them about the issue, they wanted some pics, wanted the serial # told them it was a 3rd party purchase. Lift stepped up to the plate and is sending out a new body for the grinder and it was a 3rd party purchase. Never see that.

I was just joking.... I wonder if that's why you had a fitment issue. Hope the new body works out bro! At least you're getting stellar CS especially since you purchased it 2nd hand!

Do we have any UK/Irish peeps in the thread? I am probably going to go with the UK online store VapourTown.com to pick up my Space Case, as the Ebay seller still hasn't responded to my questions. So I'm just wondering if anyone has dealt with VapourTown before?

Surely it is already said but I remember it:
The gr8tr has the same teeth in the two plates, as you see in my gr8tr the difference between one and another is in the holes that make strainer, the grinding is very similar, faster and less thick if you use the thick plate, my favorite!

I think I read recently here but can anyone with an SLX 2 tell me if the o-ring is supposed to be loose? Mine is...

Besides that first run works awesome!!

I don't own an SLX 2 but I've read in numerous places that the lower ring can be removed. SLX recommend that you don't, but it is removable so that's probably why it is loose. Hope that helps man!

I'm pretty sure my top gasket is fixed in place, but from memory on the bottom section on the latest SLX grinders there's a loose gasket that is removable.
It makes it easier to open/close the herb chamber (less twists with it in place), mine never came with it though, and the difference is minimal (about 1 revolution, 2.5 full rotations w/o g., 1.5 w/ g. to open/close). There's been a couple of times I'd wished for quarter turn locks, but mostly and especially when there's herb in it, I'm happy to crank it a few extra times to get to the goods and twist it back up to a lock stop knowing it's secure until I open it. When I was using one of the newer ones I don't feel like it snaps shut as nicely with the gasket, though I feel like I'd use it if I had one.
It also makes the grinder more symmetrical, and a little taller

Well, I really wanted that SLX I had in a cart for days and days, but my 420 budget was completely busted by DynaVap. Oh well, another day... ;)

Awwww fuck it. The cart price was still good so I just went for it. Whats money when you can have toys... (And folks wonder why I'm single...) (I blame you, @Shit Snacks )

Added: Just to be clear, I blame SS for busting my budget and getting the SLX, not my being single...

I was going to say good trade off with the vape over the grinder, but great choice picking up both ;)
You won't regret it I bet

Hey! Interesting find! This guy has similar teeth to the SCS!!! Should do a good job! Too small holes though I think...

And probably rebrand of Chinese origin? There 's another one...

I've been using a Space Case and MFFG to produce extremely fine grind, which is what I prefer. However, I'm honestly getting sick of how much work the MFFG is to use, and I'm considering picking up a coffee grinder so I can process a half ounce or more at a time for easy access later.

Recommendations? Anything I should know about using a coffee grinder, to keep from ruining the grinder and/or herb?

I don't think a ceramic burr coffee grinder would work. So you may want to try and find one with a blade.
