Hey Ed I was just thinking. I think you should make custom Hydratube stands for the Cloud? Custom exotic wood, who wouldn't want one!! I'm assuming around the same price of a solo dugout maybe?

Ah yes I have seen these and they do look nice, you all are right some bad ass exotics like Cocobolo with some hand turned wooden dowel rods would look very nice! Seems they do a good job, they just need some more lumber choices!

I never miss an episode! My biggest complaint is the crappy plastic drink bottle they use for a bong. It'll be nice to see some of your wood on TV, Ed (that sounded odd, I know).

Thats right Shred you got the last one for a little while, gotta reorder more of it soon.

Just wanted to let you all know I gotta another great review from Linda, pls check it out!

Hope all is well out there.

I am really trying hard not to use adhesives and the like while making the Solo stems. Some are having issues of separation. This is still not something I wanna hear. I have thought of using a small band of high temp tubing to place over the joint so the two wont come apart. I have seen Alan use this method with his tubes and has had much success. I feel the band would really take away the sleekness but may be an answer. I am right now sending out pieces that have no adhesive or weld what so ever. I am turning small grooves like threads in the wooden shaft and still have the deep groove on the upper end of the shaft. I am using a quite a bit of hemp fiber as a shim and filler between the two and is working in the shop in my solo. You all will notice that you may have about an 1/8" hemp fiber band between the SS and wood, this is what is working now and will be sent out.

Wanted to let you know Ed that I got my newest Bog Oak stem and it has since separated :( . I have since dealed with it by making a paper shim. Oh and I found my other bog oak stem!! So now I have two!

Hello VnS glad you made it work and found the other you are missing. I am really racking my brain with this separation issue, the Bog Oak is really giving me trouble more so than any of the others. I am really trying not to use adhesives and have since gone to using all hemp fiber, I feel this should work. I also thought of adding a high temp silicone band over the seem to eliminate the separation problem. It would not be quite as sleek as what they are now. I have seen Alan use the band technique and it does work well for him. What are your thoughts VnS? How bout anyone else? Also am thinking that after a few uses the resin should build up and create its own adhesion and may hold tight. Hows everyone's pieces working? I would really like to get some updates from all who are really using theirs.

I think its because my unit is an older ceramic and gets way hotter then others. Or at least that's a thought.
