Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Hey Ed! I had been about to email you and then I saw you've blanked out some purpleheart for LB stems!
What a joyous thing to hear, I do declare.
If I could acquire three stems for my launch box based on what woods I've seen thus far, I think the amboyna burl, purpleheart, and some of that sweet-looking lilac wood up above a few posts, would all be ideal candidates for my "dream team" of stems. I'm sure I could live with getting just one for now, (and not for a week or two while I sort out some financial business) but that's my wish list, I suppose!

if it weren't incredibly time-consuming, something I think that would be very nice to see is a large photographed collection of all the different and unique exotic woods you might be able to make satisfactory LB stems from.. The selection on your site is great, I'm excited for the purpleheart stems, but a wide selection of possible custom options here on FC would be so cool, I think. I know you don't always have an infinite variety of woods, but if you got something to show, I'd love to see it!

Thanks,
Nate

Glad to hear your enthusiasm Devil, the purpleheart LB stems are spun, gonna get em to the photographer this next week, be a week after that before I will have anything for show. I think the Amboyna and Purpleheart will be sweet adds to you LB, I dont have any Lilac, TV posted that pic of some work he had done with it. I have 100's of lbs. of wood blocks/boards, it'd be really hard to take a pic of all I have and time consuming most of all, that is something I have very little of. What I offer at my site should give you a good idea of what all I have, if there is something you dont see in stems, then just ask, I may be able to make something happen for ya!

DevRev, thank you for your order, I did see it show on email, I think you made some great selections, am sure you will be happy with them.

Been out in the shop hard at it the last couplea days, turned quite a bit of stuff, got the African Blackwood Tubes back in stock, spun 8 beauties and 3 cracked when inserting the tip, so 5 left, if you want one you better get it now, will be a few weeks at least before I get more wood and then spun. Spun alot of other species to get caught up on stock, did some purpleheart, mahoe, koa, figured walnut, myrtle, and some others, cant remember them all. Also spun a some LB stems to get caught up in those as well, even spun an amazing two tone Amboyna Burl Stem, its mostly creamy burled sapwood with bright red spots of heartwood with eyes gleaming at ya! That's whats fun, you kinda get an idea of what it may look like blanked out, I can figure it'll be a nice piece, but the beauty truly comes out when I finish sand it and then put the wire wool on it to slick it out.

Spun a 14mm Blackwood Shortie, its 2 1/2" in length and as stated 14mm to fit bubblers, pls have a look and let me know what you all think!

Good morning, glad to hear you like em, have to get a new mandrel before I can spin any more of these. Mine had gotten off center, its my second one in a few months, not really expensive, very well made, just cant take spinning forever, glad I can afford to buy more!

It'd be hard to say with what all you have there Vito, hard to say! Very impressive collection, do think an Ebony would do well in there though. I think you would dig it with its super density and crisp pulls, make for a really distinct vapor cocktail!

My friend gave me 7a different strains couple I have heard, many haven't, haven't the blue widow is by far the best I have tried, sampling each is like a fresh breath, the zap makes each a great experience! The wood tube just adds the gravy!

Got my two tubes a couple of days ago. Running low on product so I've only tried one for one day but I gotta say it exceeded all expectations. As stated it's got a bigger draw hole than the generic plastic tubes, and the wood provides great cooling and a natural flavor. I imagine each tube brings it's own essence, I cannot wait to really break these guys in.

If you're on the fence don't be, it's a great product. Seems like it will be easy to clean too, the removable tips are a good idea!

Ed the LB stems look beautiful! I've got the amboyna burl but I have yet to try it out.
I also ordered some Blackberry/Sage butter and it makes the stem look even more amazing and is nice on my LB.

Thanks for offering us such quality products! :)

Good morning all, glad you got and like Dev & Pre, I really do appreciate the kind words.

Dev you chose a couple of great species, each has a different feel all together, the difference is noticeable in my mind.

Pre, you'll dig the Amboyna Stem, the BB BAB is good stuff, I need to get some more made up of which are out of stock and am wanting to add a couple new scents, been wanting to start a southern magnolia scent, magnolia is the state tree of Mississippi, and the blooms are very nice and fragrant.

Thanks again for the kind words fellas, pls let me know your feelings when you have tried those pieces!

Good morning, Ed! Just wanted to thank you for our beautiful recent tube pick-ups - the Blackwood is absolutely stunning (and my current favorite). The Bocote is a little different than the picture on your website (less contrast in the one we received), but is a beauty as well. I think we're up to...(counting)...six different kinds of wood tubes now. If you keep up with the different woods, we're going to have to find some additional storage space!

Please keep on with the Blackberry/Sage BAB - we love that scent (as well as the lavender)!

Regards to you and Mrs. Ed!

Glad you like Bum, the Blackwood is the shit!!! I told Mrs. Ed bout the well wishes you left the other day, she was glad to hear em! I can say it a lot but it doesnt mean as much like when she hears it from a customer, thanks for making her smile!

6 tubes is quite a collection, dont you think that each has its own feel on the vapor? I think it does, the wood tends to mellow the vapor from piece to piece IMO. Not sure which is my fav, but think the denser the wood, the crisper the draw is.

Ed, I agree. Each tube really produces it's own "signature" on vapor. Interesting how different woods give a slightly different experience. The dense woods feel smooth in the hand and really polish up to a pretty shine. :2c:

I like that Bum "signature", I really like that adjective!!! I am sure Vito will agree that each specie does bring its own signature to the vapor cocktail!!!

I am trying to remember all the pieces you have Bum, sure would like to see a pic of what you're working with.

I'm not convinced my cell phone camera would do the tubes justice, Ed! Until I can find the digital to get a decent pic, no wood porn... :/

We have:
- Cocobolo
- Myrtle
- Koa
- Mahoe
- Amboyna Burl
- Blackwood

Keep up the good work, my friend! :peace:

Oh I agree alright. I use a different stem for a different feel.. not just to the lips... but to the senses!
The wooden Vapor Coctail, has a variety of fine subtle nuances.. that are slightly altered and enhanced with each different stem used.
Poetry.

I never had a chance to show off my Blackwood stem. I finally can show it now, cause I have a real camera.
Here's the Ed's Blackwood Stem in all of it's shiny glory... sitting in my new RockZap.
I thought that the combination would be a good one... Orange and Black.. as Halloween is around the bend!
