That's good to know. Your posts here and elsewhere have really helped steer me on this purchase. I'm a musician, money for things like this is tight-I've found the FC forum the absolute best at getting user experiences over time with different vaporizers. Most of us LOVE our new vapes, it's how much do folks like them after 6 months that means something to me. The info I've gleaned so far has guided me to Dynavap and Milaana.

EDIT: JUST GOT SHIPPING NOTICE FROM DYNAVAP. I'm going to have a fun weekend. Sweeeeeet.

I'm going to sign up for a Lil Bud after Christmas and then I'm going to sit back and ride those through the recording of my next album(s). Once that project is done I think I'll celebrate with a Solo Air 2, or whatever else may have hit the digital vape market-that's something that's missing from my 'arsenal' as I really have issues with the Alternate-too much effing plastic for me.

DV has never had a spinning steel mouthpiece. They had a couple one offs that they sold, but there has never been one available on their website.

I think many would like to see one, but there isn't one.

For a very short time, quite some time ago, they did have the spinning ti mouthpieces, but I don't recall any ss ones.

Pretty sure those were salvage of defective omni condensers, but I may be misremembering.

Never happened... Whether it will happen in the future I do not know...

Just FYI, the "January" that came out of George was LAST January.

Man, I am really feeling for our German brethren! I didn't realise German customs was so harsh against vaporizers or is it more of a general bureaucracy thing? I can be patient but 21 day wait when you know it's already in-country is brutally excessive IMO. You have my sympathy; that's just not right!

That's super fast to France, @Taazokaan and welcome to FC! With 5 DynaVap orders placed, you should have been posting here ages ago, my friend. Whatever the reason, I'm glad you found your way here. You are sure to have some great VapCap stories and wisdom to share. Which models have you acquired with those 5 orders, pray tell? Sorry if I seem pushy bombarding you with questions. It's just that I read your post, then saw New Member and got excited! France needs more VC enthusiasts/representatives around here for sure.

Today I found out glow in the dark powder (strontium aluminate) is very abrasive and will eat HSS cutters for breakfast. I think it was worth it though, the glow effect is pretty cool. It's hard to get a good picture of it glowing.

If it ain't radioactive then how am I meant to get superpowers? :disgust:

Forgot to say, the strontium is really pretty with the wood you chose for this vong @Winegums
You seem to always be adding to your skill sets, trying something new and I think that's cool. I enjoy seeing what you're getting up to so keep the updates and wood porn coming!

When you do make a vong that imparts superpowers, please hit me up.

Especially if we get to pick our super powers.

Speaking of picking, I meant to ask this before and forgot. Is DV back to laser etching caps? That was a cool thing that went away with a promise of returning and I was wondering if it is happening quietly or just not happening yet.

It wouldn't be a surprise if it was too time intensive to be worth bringing back the custom option but I'm sure there are a half dozen designs that many would be happy to have on their cap and they could be done in advance.

Just thinkin. If the crew is balls to the walls just producing enough product to fill orders and anticipated holiday sales than something like this could well be back burnered till there are slower times, which may be what is afoot now. ;)

I’ve asked them, they’ve always given me no reason to hope that they’ll ever do it again, and if that sounds vague....

It sounds like the etched caps may have become a Dynavap collector's item.

It's a general bureaucracy thing. My last order was a dynastash. I could buy dynavap stuff at a german retailer, but nothing can't beat the @VapCap
    sale prices.

@Taazokaan my first order came through without customs. It took around 5-6 days too.

Enquired about custom cap etching a few sales ago @Arielle.Dynavap replied
that etching will be offered again after the sale....

DynaVap must be working their booties off, with etching in the back burner....

Ah, well, as @Squiby said, custom etched caps are becoming collectors’ prized DynaVap
memorabilias—a blast from the past :myday: Like Damascus steel stems....

Am, however looking hopefully towards the future.

Thanks! I spend a lot of time watching and researching before I do things so that I know what I'm getting myself into. It makes it easier when I actually start to the project to have a map of where I want to go and what to do at each step. Working with new and different materials all the time is a challenge that yields as much failure as success, (I had a resin leak on one of the molds and it made a MESS).

I realized last year that my calling in life is to make beautiful functional items. I've done a lot of traditional art in the past but it's plain old art at the end of the day. The interaction with it is simply to stare and admire which doesn't engage me enough. I want to touch the art, I want it to be an item that does something. I want to be using it and appreciating the beauty at the same time. I honestly didn't think this is what I would be doing when I grew up but I'm happy that I have found inner peace being a creator/maker/artisan.

Marrying art and function is why I find myself exploring new things all the time. There's so many techniques and materials that I still want to try. Things like metal casting, pottery, pattern welding, glass blowing, and more. There's even some that haven't even been made yet or I've only theorized with some engineers (when I have millions for R&D ).

The next thing on the horizon is wood stabilizing with resin and dye. I have a pile of wood with cracks, voids and soft spots that I want to use. I've got to track down a vacuum chamber in the future.

For the sake of wood porn, here's another shot of my knife and 14/18mm XL omni VonG.
The knife is made from O1 tool steel, B8 bronze, Cocobolo and Maple. The VonG is made from Blackwood, B20 bronze and Birch Burl.
