But I like it!
Bummer! I had a similar issue a few weeks after I first got mine. Hermes was pretty good with the fix and return (I'm in Canada), but @stickstones is the guy to ask if you are in North America.

My second lid nipple has finally broke..so the first one that broke had the ed wong(which is bomb) nother shout to him and @stickstones so i cut the hole out and jb welded a 18mm glass reducer..works really well but becuase i iserter from bottom of lid its a little short so doesnt seal well on dewar joints and such but airflow super wide open and my second lid nipple finally broke with my eds wong..that wong is beast but its puts strain on lid so ive been ripping my delrin adapter from @mestizo now to figure out a plan for my wong becuase jts too gokd to sit unused and dont wanna drop on another lid..im rotating between glass and teflon and i just do direct pack in both and flavor and clouds guys..it all stays clean as well..this thing really provides different aslect with direct pack..
@subway13029 if you ever find a way with the WonG where it doesn't rip the lid nipple apart, let us know. Mine sitting in a box...two lids is enough for me. The full lid cover Delrin is my go to at this point.

@Techmob Your MV is showing the classic signs of acting like it's ok but in reality it's not. Been down that road. Needs to get core replaced.

Seems to be hit and miss

After I did the test that Bob said I used a clean screen and basket and I was getting clouds and it was working well.
My glass piece was even getting hot to touch as was the basket, couldn't touch it for more than that split second.

But then ,next time I used it, it took a good while to get hit again

Does that sound like issues experienced?
Thanks

This is what happened to me to a tee. Sometimes it heated correctly and fooled me into thinking it was just my imagination and it was working properly. Not the case. Eventually it just acted like it was heating properly when in fact it wasn't.
Pretty safe bet yours needs servicing. Pain in the neck, but painless process other than being without for a bit.

MiniVap has officially become my daily driver, I travel with it and 99% of the time use it on the battery. So perfect for carrying about the house, using while doing chores or walking the dog. With this new mestizo adapter I am looking forward to some H20 use, but I also love the flavor dry so much. It is everything I loved about the Plenty, but without the cord.

The mestizo is so beefy, and does not appear to put any real strain on the nipple.

Hi @PPN hope you are doing good without the girls at home! :D

I have a question, Teflon core minivap, came back after the upgrade as well.
1. Your upgraded units have a black rubber piece around the walls of the chamber? There was a white solid thing once, before the upgrade. I think it's responsible for guess what? The smell I didn't like on the glass core, and still don't like with the new Teflon. Black rubber thing and sili-cones are the culprits IMHO. But I'm out of clues and feel sorry for not liking the upgrade :)
2. My decarb ring comes apart! Do I have to install it with the Teflon ring in or take it out? I think the latter, cause if I don't it comes out by gravity as doesn't adhere to the walls.
Cheers.

Mine was updated in september 2014 and came back with the white teflon...but it was a while!

Decarb ring doesn't stay in place like the teflon, without the lid you need to keep it upright....that's all.
You can also put the small teflon ring up of the decarb ring, it helps but I ended to use only the decarb ring carefully upright.

Girls are came back yesterday...for the better!!! even if all my bubblers, e-nails and vapes are came back to the office (except the MV, esv, Persei,...) but it was some nice vape sessions!

Edit: I can see in the MiniVap website there is an inhalation detection new feature...what does it means please?

Now when you do a big hit, the heater detects lowered temp and heat up again the bowl. After big hits the light blinks now. Then goes back to temp and goes solid again. I think my 2013 unit didn't do this.

@stickstones
in place of the white stuff with no smell, I have now a black, petrol/tyre smelling piece of black rubber that has a faint but bad smell. I'm trying to make Jorge understand this without taking me for an asshole. Which I am probably.
He said that rubber was treated with something and is pretty high tech so it can't smell basically.
They installed it with my previous glass update and didn't take apart going back to teflon <8with new core) as I asked.
It came back and it is better but smell is not so great because of that, I thnk it also has different insulation properties compared to the white teflon stuff there was beforehands.

Got a question. My bud has never touched the bowl of the Mini. It's as clean now as when it was new. I strictly use the flexicon/screen/basket combo. Being that I've never loaded directly into the bowl I just wanted to know............am I missing anything? Are there certain positive aspects of loading directly into the bowl versus the set-up I'm using?

Same here @lwien, I've never loaded herb directly into my mV bowl. I find those Flexicone basket modules to be so convenient--load separately and insert, vape away, eazy peazy to dump the ABV when done. And they provide an extra layer of protection /barrier to keep herb dust from falling into the mV body.
I can't even imagine any noticeable or meaningful benefit to loading the chamber directly. I am open to hearing from those that do find a benefit for direct loading however.

IMO, the Flexicone modules are the best part of the mV--I love them and use them in my Herbie too and am designing a piece to also use them in the Mighty/Crafty.

I load mine directly and it has such a super stoney effect and the clouds are unbelievable and imho taste doesnt auffer at all..to me i can taste the basket(maybe im sensitive to taste of metal but it seems like a more.pure taste when loaded directly into the mv.

Packing direct should increase conduction slightly. I say slightly because the teflon just doesn't conduct heat well...that's why they have the decarb kit. I keep it in the basket as well...like @MinnBobber, I prefer the extra barrier for the convection effects. If you were to pack it directly in there you will get it on the screen and dirty that some. But those screens are easily popped out for cleaning, and since we are pulling air up through the system I don't think much will get down there. I have seen some pretty gunky units come through for repair, but never dirty beneath that lower screen.

Yeah I've checked under the screen and nothing..I keep clean vapes but I prefer my mv for what I call the triple...I pack layer of bud,Kief,Errl, and more bud and this is direct pack and it is awesome..never any leakage or dirtiness...i use the baskets on occasion..I direct pack both Teflon and glass..I'm mainly through water all the time and always use the flexiand screen just not the basket..

Sticks~ got the package today and all I can say is thank you thank you thank you!
Really above and beyond and appreciated:D

Been using the hook and mestizo the last few rounds and it is so much less harsh with the large chamber vs the straw. Looking forward to testing with water but I find myself with the mestizo stuck in the hook. Any of y'all have advice on how to release and separate the two?

You got the j-hook stuck on the delrin adapter? I've never had that happen. They usually slide freely and only slightly stick to each other. maybe put them in the freezer?

BRILLIANT! I put it in freezer, took out the ice cream and shut the door.
Took two- err three bites, put it back and grabbed the hook.... the adapter spun around freely:D

Yes, that extra volume of the j-hook adds a cooling element to the vapor.

Any water piece adds a nice dash of moisture to the mV vapor.

Stuck mestizo and J-hook: temperature differential is always best method to try first IMO. I'd let mestizo soak in a soup bowl with ice water to get it "minimized". Try to just cool the mestizo piece. Then dip J hook into hottest tap water to "maximize" it and see if that does the job.
If no go I'd use somewhat hotter water via microwaving water.

Mine did/does the same thing. I figured it out and you know the answer now. I avoid it now by just remembering to clear the J-hook between hits. The taking it on and off of the Delrin adapter seems to do the trick.

In theory you could use a tiny drop of non-toxic lubricant on the joint. I've seen things like 'Toob Loob' and others at the LHS. I've never tried it, but whats the worst that could happen? A lot of really silly things have started like this in the past, so please don't try this at home... Maybe the neighbours...

I use "Grinder Grease" on glass connecting joints. It comes in a small "Chapstick-like" tube.
To be politically incorrect, make sure you ask for "Grinder Grease" , not to be confused with "Grind Her Grease" ;)

I lock my j hook to the Delrin adapter with a k-klip and pull the whole thing off the cap to clear.

Also I'm in the flexicone only camp. I packed the chamber once when I first got it and quickly decided the the flexi's were better for me. Whether it be a flexicone, elb or my beloved cans, y'all know I like a prepack system! In my opinion these systems help keep your devices cleaner thus preserving the performance and taste.

Some delrin adapters are looser than others. Be sure to twist off or risk breaking the threads. I have one that easily pulls off, and another that would break it if I did.
