Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Desktop vaping hasn't been an option all week so I turned to my trusty blackwood/solo, I have one of the older stems without a c-clip and the screen finally needed a cleaning after using it a lot. Popped out the screen easily with a screwdriver and put it in one of those tiny bowls used for dipping hot sauce with some iso. I lost my flux brush so I used an electric toothbruth and boy does it make quick work of a dirty screen. I'm back with a good as new stem, this thing rocks.

Just wanted to say i'm really digging the community here, as a new solo owner coming off a T1 and not looking back, its really great to have so many great guys on here making mainstream accessories.

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting one of the 2 inch wongs to use primarily as an on the go stealth option, but just wanted to make sure it wouldnt get to hot having your mouth that close to the oven, especially at 6-7s, what do you think?

I don't think it will. I don't have much experience with Ed's Solo stems, I do own a stem for the Launch Box and it doesn't get warm. It's about the same length but thinner and without the metal for the bowl. I've used my 18mm PV GonG as a mouthpiece, all glass, and it didn't get too warm for my lips. Glass conducts heat better than wood so the WonG shouldn't get as warm as glass.

The only experience I've had with Ed's Solo stems was at an FC hangout where someone had one of his full-sized stems. I really liked it, and would get one but I'm back to reclaiming stem oil which I can't do with a wooden stem. Still, I may end up ordering a shorty WonG as a durable backup for my glass stems.

Nice avatar, by the way. Love that show ;)

Hello double S, thanks for stopping by and the kind words. The vapor is gonna be significantly hotter coming through such a short stem. They are designed to be used with glass. I just dont think youd be happy with it as a direct draw piece. I would like to encourage you to have a look at what else I offer and if you would like something custom just let me know.

@Ripstar thanks for the biz bro! I really appreciate it and thank you also for stopping by. Its alota fun working wood, I just got in 100 sticks of the most amazing Nicaraguan Cocobolo, my guy has the shit! The pieces of full of fiery tones and rich colors, even big bright eyes here and there. Working these pieces are the best!

@Quetzalcoatl its good to see you bro, let me know if I can do something special for you and its done! Thanks for your input and stopping by I wish you well.

Thanks Ed! Having looked around and thought about what the size would feel like, I do actually think a 3 inch stem would make more sense for an on the go/stealth option, without sacrificing too much throat comfort. Would it be possible for me to order one of those in blackwood? Should I be emailing you?

Thanks, think i'm gonna go with a 3 inch in the end, just to be safe. Yea I really want a gong (also really excited to reclaim) but theyve been out of stock. At least I could also use the wood stem as a wong while i wait...

Ha thanks dude, the current season is so nuts its great. Dig yours too, pretty spot on lol

While I've been having a love affair with my Magic Flight Muad-Dib, tonight I gleefully ran back into the arms of my most loyal vape, the Solo, because my blackwood stem from Ed's arrived! Aesthetically, it was a thing of beauty, and I appreciated the replacement screens.

I noticed a few things. First, the draw is tremendous. Easily beat out the glass stems in that department. I got more vapor in five seconds than I do in multiple pulls of the glass stems.

Second, I wouldn't say there's a "taste" to this stem versus the glass, but there is definitely a feel. I guess it would be redundant for me to say it feels organic, since it's wood, but it feels more full than the glass did (not measuring fullness in terms of actual vapor production, because obviously Ed's stem was pulling more). The glass is more sterile.

After just one session, I can't imagine going back to my glass stems again for pretty much anything.

@Monk Debate I am glad you got your piece and thank you much for the kind words for my work. I really like how you said the stems have a "feel" to em, I think the same, the solo stems definitely do have a feel to em, its much more than glass, I feel like I actually have something in my hand, its finish is so lustrous and sleek the feel of the stem is very dignified! Its not something you have to cradle or baby, its a solid piece that is unique and functional. I am happy to hear you think so highly of it and hope it brings you much joy! Thanks for sharing your feelings and the post.

@as thanks for keeping it real!

I have been working on LB stems this last week and will be on them for about another. I have had a really great couple of weeks of solo stem sales, am all freaking sold out of em at the moment and have folks inquiring about them daily! So glad to hear all the popularity for them. I just got in a quite a few sticks of the Nicaraguan cocobolo, 100 sticks in fact, they are all choice pieces with lots of color. I really didnt have the money to be buying anymore wood lately but I could not let these pieces go. My guy says that stuff is going to be getting more expensive, he told me the Chinese are down in Mexico and South America buying up everything of any value and shipping it back home, WTF! I hate folks that hog up all the wildlife! Its like out of towners coming into your neck of the woods and leasing all the land for hunting and putting up posted signs saying no trespassing. It aint cool!

Hi Ed,
I've just seen some grinders at your site. Are you making them, or just selling them? I've just ordered a MFLB and will be soon ordering some stems from you, I might order a grinder....

BTW, I bought my second solo stem (cypress) and some iolite stems from you some months ago, and I still owe you a review!!!
  • Loving the solo cypress stem: gets hot quicker than the granadillo and has a very beautiful pattern! Finish is quite different from granadilllo's...really like both
  • The iolite stems are much better, IMO, than the original ones. It really improves the device for me
Keep on man!!

Agreed, I used my glass stem only a few more times after getting my stem from Ed.

I really wanted a Enano, but since Ed hasn't begun to make the stems...I passed. Despite obvious taste superiority compared to other material, I'm just not into glass stems/wands anymore. Thanks alot Ed!

@overvaped Hello and thanks for stopping by! I dont make the grinders that I sell at my site but they are well made. For the price and their performance they are great, I try to make as much of the stuff that I sell at my site but cant do it all. I have been low on LB stems lately but am working on them now, so I should have several species to choose from, when your ready let me know you ordered and I will do my best to make sure you get some sweet pieces! Glad you are digging the cypress solo stem and the Iolite stems. The cypress were a short run and made some great pieces. The Iolite stems were fun to make, its always cool to try something different from time to time. Thanks for the kind words bro and I look to hear from you again soon.

@Curiousone Thanks for the post! I am glad you are enjoying your stem that much! If you are happy, I am happy! I had hoped to be making some stems for the Enano by now but havent heard anything back from Andy on them. I am sure he is slammed with all he has going on and wood stems arent really a big deal at the moment. I have been waiting to here from him about the tips and dimensions of his newer nano's. He told me that the SS tubing that is placed around the heater core has changed in size from the older units. I wanna make stems for it but wanna make sure I am making the ones that fit for most everyone. I have one of his first units and could get the dimensions from it but just how many people have an older unit like mine. Hm hang in there with me, maybe I will be able to make some in the future. The Nano is a great device dont let me not making any stems for it deter you from buying one. I am sure you will be really happy with it!

Well all is good my way, just about finished up with a MF order, been on it a couple weeks and should get it out next week. Wooohooo will be three weeks early! I am sure they will dig that. I always tell my customers a date to expect it and always try and beat the date. If I can get it to em sooner than everyone is happy! I will be back on solo stems this coming week, got to get a bunch of them made, have run out of stock on them and have a couple big orders of them to go out to my distributors. I just recently got a great deal on more cocobolo, my guys price was way to tempting to let slip by. I didnt really have the dough budgeted to buy more of it but damn the deal was too good! I got a 100 more sticks of the good stuff from Nicaragua. I have worked much of it from Mexico and thought that was some nice stuff, these pieces from Nicaragua are far more superior in vibrant colors, they are the shit! Really looking forward to spring yall! Me and the boys are ready to wet a hook. They keep asking me, "Daddy when are we going fishing?" they are ready to put the boat in the water and see the new motor run. We are really gonna cover some distance now. My 10 year old got on the gifted chess team in the fourth grade. He beat out 12 other boys and to make it. He told me, "Dad, dont laugh at me but I got beat once by a girl!" LOL, he is such a smart kid! I am so blessed! Hey there is smart girls out there too.

I hope all is well out there and wish you all the best!

Good morning, I got an Ascent yesterday, I was encouraged by one of my distributors to have a look at it and see if I could make a stem for it. I was anxious to try it, its something different than I normally do so it kinda got me out of the box so to speak. I ran it for a couple cycles with the glass stem and gave it some thought while I turned some LB stems. I wanted to use a dense wood and figured Cocobolo would work well for this piece. I got the dimensions inside/out and had the right drill bit for the draw hole. I got a dark piece and bored it out, turned it to spec, the same size as the glass stem. It fits snug in the unit, slides all the way in it just like the glass stem. It has a small lip on the top of it just like the glass so you can lift it up out of the device. I ran it for a couple of cycles using the wooden stem and it performed really well, just as the glass maybe slightly smoother. I already work African Blackwood for Solo Stems, its super dense, more so than Cocobolo, and I think it would make a great pair with most off the units. Pls give it a look!
