Best first Vape <$100 used?

Hello,

I'm new to vaping and don't mind buying used. I don't do concentrates only dry herbs.

I have found some SSV's in that price range, Vapro bros, Ez vape etc but before I buy I would like some input on other models in that price range. I don't think I'm the Magic flight box kind of guy.

This is just for home use 1-2 people so either a portable or a desktop is fine. Being able to vape well and in budget is what's most important.

I looked at the Solo but that is out of the price range. I need s starter vape, but one that actually works well.

Da Buddha or SSV would be my suggestion. A log vape is great too. It cost more, but will pay for itself rather quickly. The extreme Q passes cool air over electronics. The Herbalaire is a consumption beast imo.

A hundred people here might get you a hundred different answers, but the one common agreed upon rule is it's all subjective. The main thing, you research and try to figure out what works best for you. And fuck combustion.

Welcome to FC DogDad! I started with an ssv as my first vape. It rocks and is a great choice. Since you found this great site you will find tons of great info at your fingertips. If you have glass that you wish to use, I reccomend an LSV. I picked up mine at WickiePipe and I imagine they will be on sale very soon. I also reccomend the kind ash cache by herbal innovations, goes great with every vape and/or glass that I've used, especially the LSV WPA almost like they were perfect match. Plus you can store a good day or so use, then transfer it to your abv container, instead of opening said container constantly...

Add $40 and get a solo. Or maybe a lotus if you don't mind using a torch.

The SSV is a great vape and if you can get one for $100 you should do it, just make sure it has all the glass pieces as glass from 7th floor can get a little pricey.
Honestly the solo is such a great unit, especially for someone new to vaping, if there is anyway you can swing the extra $30, is worth every penny.

jsut so ya know if you ask the guys onver at puffitup.com they will sell you a solo for 140.

but I agree a ssv/lsv/dbv would also be a great first vape. you could also consider a "log" style vape too.

I've spent some time looking at all these now and the solo keeps being brought up.

The size of the solo makes the most sense for me as a unit that can just sit on my desk. No long whips to deal with and I like the idea that the material loads from the top. There is a charger base out there for it which also would be nice to have as a holder. Overall, a small footprint is good for me.

The plan would be to use it throughout the day and I would like to leave the unit on. I found something on the solo where I believe it has an auto off at 12 minutes.

What does seem clear is there isn't much under $150.00 that does a very good job.

Gotta pay for quality, but I agree, if you can get an SSV for $100, do it. If you are looking for a vape to leave on all day, then 7th floor has had a SSV running for years.

Not true.

Vapo 2 is under 100$ shipped brand new and beats Vapes 3 times it's price. It is extremely efficient, easy to use, can be left on 24/7 and gives big hits. It also comes with an car charger for use on the go.

You can get the Vapir No2 for $90-$100 new also.
That was my 2nd vape and it works well,
Some have had bad tasting units but I think thats been taken care of.

Ive bought about 6 on ebay and all worked well and no smell or after taste.
I bought mine used and I still use it every now and then.

Now for a few dollars more/Solo would be next,IMO,for your needs.

Thicker vapor than the No2.
The Solo has a more restricted draw but that doesn't bother me at all.
Of the 6 No.2s Ive gotten for people,3 have bought the Solos after using mine,and love it.

Correct, but I think that is only if you use the code FC4LIFE. I've never used a Vapo 2 myself but people I respect a lot comment favourably on theirs.

@DogDad, the Solo is more of a session device than one that you hit occasionally throughout an evening. You get more out of it if you load it up and then chain hit it for the 12 minutes until it times out. It is good at what it does, but if you are like me then it won't match your style.

I favour one-hit style vapourizers, so I prefer units like the FlashVAPE, the Launch Box, the Volta, and the Dabbler. All of these heat up within seconds and cool down almost as quickly. One benefit of this is that the load is not being heated when you're not hitting it. Even the Solo, which really doesn't have a lot of conduction, gradually roasts your load all the while it is on. Another benefit is that you can take hits when you want them and not because the session is about to time out. One vaporizer of this type that I haven't tried is the Firewood. It has good reviews and there is a gorgeous one in the Classifieds right now for $104.

yes, i agree, if you want a vape to leave on all day then the solo isn't going to cut it.

imo as far as a portable vape goes the solo is still king. but, for a around the house, on all day I agree it's not ideal. the 100 SSV would be a great! btw amazing price The SSV has a special place in my heart it's a really great vape

also consider the log vapes i mentioned. they can be left on, use very little power, pack a good punch(most of em). some to check out:

-Underdog vapes (I like em and give em a thumbs up) hits like a champ and the contents will be pooched in a few hits.
-Purple Days (out of business, but a great low tolerance vape. it gives you sips of vapor at a go.)
-Heat Island (aka, the HI) - I hear great things, but haven't used one

That being said, if I could get a used SSV that I felt was in good condition...fuck yeah!

One of my biggest concerns is that is when I begin vaping, that my choice of music will be that stuff I hear on these youtube reviews.

On All day: Right now I have a small bong I hit about 2-3 times and then lay it down for an hour, maybe. I pick it up randomly throughout the day and sometimes on purpose. I'm thinking I need something that either stays on all day or heats up fast. One handed operation is almost a must.

I sit at my desk for many many hours each day and just need to reach over and hit it without a lot of fuss. It should be not much more trouble than hitting/loading a bong. Size and convenience matters and
having said all that...I went looking closely at the Vapir No2 and compared it to what I think I knew about the Solo.

Here are my notes from what I could gather.

The NO2 vapes on AC and reaches temps faster on AC than battery total time from cold to hot 70-360F is 1:10.


The No2 can be used when it's charging and the Solo can't. The NO2 can be used on AC with no battery at all.

20 min time out (solo is 12 min I think)

NO2 has less draw resistance than solo.


Brass chamber for even cooking, size is fine for 1-3 people and top loading for me is a plus.

Small learning curve, semi portable, (fits in a large Mcdonalds cup)

Only two pieces when assembled, (small footprint on my desk)

Accurate temp gauge 1-3*, Battery indicator, plus it saves my last temperature.

A few comments I found said that it needs a longer tube and a glass option.

The Zeus review said the Brass was not as clean a taste as ceramic. 7 of 10 on taste.

One commenter said it doesn't start performing well until its HOT and usually by second session. He suggest letting it heat up for a full 15 mins, and if you stuff the bowl properly, you can easily get a full 20mins of full vape.

350-365f were the suggested temps.

Buy new on Fleabay at $87.00 shipped.

How I think I would use it: When I want to vape and it's idle, press the red button then load it, leave the switch turned on during the day and plugged in all/most the time.

Haha.... dodgy music is not compulsory, so I think you're ok!

I also think you'd be pretty impressed with the Solo, especially if you invest in a power adapter. However, given that you ideally would like a unit that can be left on a lot of the day whilst you're at your desk, as others have suggested - I also think a log would really suit your needs. They are highly efficient too like the Solo, so they help your herb go that little bit further.

The whole brass bowl is the element,as long as the herb is in the chamber and its heating it will roast the herbs whether your hitting it or not.
With the Solo you can remove the stem when you don't want to vape anymore.
The Solo heats up faster than the No2 but still takes a few minutes.
Never used a SSV, but a log vape may be a better choice .
You can leave it on and hit it whenever your ready. Easy to load stems, and conservitive with the herbs also.

the ssv will accommodate the all day, sitting at my side, whenever I feel like it type of use better than the VAP2.

I agree, I love 7venth Floor and I love my LSV. However, I have never personally seen a SSV for under 100$

And while they can be efficient, nobody I know uses them efficiently.

Thanks guys but Vapo 2 is too large, and the log gives me no temp control.

I like the size of the Solo/NO2 and I'm still thinking that the NO2 is the one more suited to me.

I'm reading that monster NO2 thread on FC right now. I'll see what gremlins show up there before I pull the trigger.

After your first post I looked around for the best $100 vape. I think the used SSV at $123 is the deal seller has 10. I don't think your gonna need to hit the vaporizer as much as your thinking. It's worth the extra work of using two hands if needed for a clean tasting vape. I would not get the No2 as a first.
I know it works okay but I think the taste is weird like plastic. I don't care that's it's made of plastic.
For the price of the new No2 you could maybe find a used EQ OR I see a used DBV for $100.

I know what you mean, I hate that, I always start my sessions off with Little Lungs.

And logs can use VVPS if you want temp control, or depending on the log you can move the screen further away from the heatport.

But I recommend checking out a Hammer, its not around 100 anymore but I've never had anyone complain after getting tasty full hits.

The E-Nano has built in temp control, is a very nice looking log vape IMO, and has had really positive reviews. Whether or not you'll be lucky enough to find one second hand for under $100 though is another matter I suppose.

As @paytonpenn said - you can also use a variable voltage power supply with other logs too.

the NO2 will probably be a great first vape. I know Vitolo (or at least used to) speak very highly of the NO2.

because of the NO2's shaky start, I stayed away. If anything sounds shady to me and for the NO2 health concerns were what put me off. The idea of inhaling fumes that are not vapor instantly put me off.

that said. Ive never used one. and I know lots of people on here who liked it.

I think there are many better vapes out there! (SSV for one) but everyone needs a first vape and the NO2 isn't a dud by any means.

If you're not scared of using a little fire there's some very very nice options available, quite honest for 109$ shipped to your door you could have the glass Sherlock vaporgenie which is fast, efficient in the sense that it will absolutely get the job done. Yes there's a small learning curve however with the glass Sherlock you're able to watch the Sherlock itself turn blue then fog a few seconds later the other models offer great experience as well the new bronze I cannot speak on however it's my understanding the new location of the bowl practically eliminates all the guess work.
