So here's my unorganized review, more a list of thoughts I have on the HA

So I've had my HA for a few days now and it is a beast. Hits as hard as my SSV for sure. Maybe harder. At least different. Effective with small amounts too. Hits are thin, but I got nicely medicated on a .05. I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase. I can confidently recommend this vape.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I like:

Quick heat up
Great heat retention
The most evenly vaped ABV I've ever seen
When a fill the crucible all the way with ground bud, I can get some seriously thick rips.
When I load the crucible 25% full I can take quite a few solid rips and get very ripped on a reasonable amount (between .1 and .2)
Works with my 14mm glass
Great for a group setting
Bags are fun
Seems like a very solid piece of equipment, I anticipate many years of use from my HA
The flow is very unrestriced, adds little drag to my glass

What I don't like

I will definitely be looking into some screens, too much particulate gets thru
If I forget to remove the crucible vapor can be seen wafting out of it, but that's not really a big deal, I've already worked it into my hit routine.
Flavor is very good, but not amazing. SSV can do better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This seems like it would be a great first vape for someone. Turn it on, set ur temp, wait for the green lights and take a hit.

The HA has been able to keep up with me. No matter how hard I hit it the light stays green, and a group of 5 quickly passing it and using it with my 18" beaker couldn't phase it either. I'm impressed.

I've been holding off on a new vape hoping for the cloud, but I just couldn't wait anymore. The HA is a worthy distraction while I wait patiently for VXL to give the green light.

Great Post "B."!!!

I feel the same way about the HA. its a great first machine and a hard hitter no matter what the group size is. I've filled the crucible with sandwiched grinds and had multiple people with different water pipes waiting their turn to hook up as the HA comes around and besides the fact that you can run out of actual product in the crucible.... there is no slowing it down. Thick vapes for vapebonging are what this machine excels at if you ask me. The only thing I feel can become a fix/upgrade for HA is taste which is the reason for all of my modifications...... I want to convert the best value machine out into one of the best tasters as well. I also strive to keep my mods simple so if they actually work, its easy to do a tutorial that everyone can follow.

Great minds think alike! The HA was my first machine as well. Still love it in direct draw mode. Thanks for the great posts.

After a trip to Home Deps i was able to connect my water toy to HA. A vinyl tube of 3/4" fits tight on HA-mouthpiece(not straw) and directly into watertoy port hole :D

The draw is big and easy and gives dense hits. It's a world of difference compared to the orig setup.

I'll throw a pic up when I have a url to host it.

Best wishes!

Hey everyone! I just ordered a h2.2! Im super excited for it to come and will post more when i recieve it. But for now i have a few questions, What is the difference between the h2.1 and h2.2? (I am aware this was adressed like a page back but it was brief and didnt explain it much). Also is there anything i should get before it gets here for it? like do i really need extra screens and like a better whip? thanks!!

Oh and i forgot to ask you B how does the HA stack up to all the vapes you have and previously owned? Nice post on the HA review btw, that influenced me even more to buy this vape :D

Just want you guys to know, you don't have to drill your Teflon mouthpiece in order to have a glass straw. Simply buy a MFLB glass stem and stick it into the mouthpiece. I got this idea from a user somewhere in this thread, I wish I knew who so I could give them credit, but I am lazy and don't want to read through a bunch of pages.

I plan on buying silicon tubing and a glass mouthpiece to fit onto the end of the tubing like this to finish my new and improved whip:

Thats a nice idea!!!

I have the mflb and ill try it like this but can you get that glass to ride all the way through the mouth piece so its kind of like a glass liner.

Also the reason found that drilling out the mouth piece works well is because you loose some of the restriction by making a bigger diameter hole and bigger glass parts and bigger silicon tube.

Amazon says ill have my strait glass tube soon so ill be able to test the all glass- all the way through idea!

OK here it goes the full glass ride with a Teflon seal!

The Glass tube is a strong piece of Pyrex Glass and the hose is silicone

here are the dimensions of the modified parts:

Clear Glass Tubing, 7mm ID, 9mm OD, 1.0mm Wall, 6" Length

White SiliconeTubing, 5/16"ID, 7/16"OD, 1/16" Wall, Make sure its food grade not surgical grade

I love your setup, those are arizer extreme mouthpieces on the balloon right? I thought about using them myself for balloons because I really hate the plastic ones the HA came with, props on figuring it out.

I am very curious about the airflow on your setup. Do you actually find it has increased after drilling it and with the bigger tube? I would think it would be restricted by the air inlet on the back of the unit.

Anyways my mini review: I have had the HA for 4 years and have loved every minute using it and I don't see it breaking down anytime soon. The HA is a lasting quality investment that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a vaporizer.

Sage advice indeed. The HA was my first vape and well, it does a fantastic job. Even good enough for the Chinese government to order a large shipment of them for official testing of traditional Chinese herbal medicines.

Yes i have been playing with a lot of my EQ parts because I love glass but These "micro-jets" in the HA are really what make the HA so great. most people would ask me: "if you have the EQ why put the glass on the HA?" Answer is simple: Turn the knob wait for green light and make "euphoria".......where as the EQ your always worried about actual glass bowl temps and stirring.

As far as the restriction goes:

Im using arizer size glass and tube if you guys noticed which are bigger (more flow) but I use micro fine screens on the bottom of the crucible, on top of my grinds, and one in the Teflon that butts right up to the glass tube. With all these microfine screens I restore some of the restriction but the end result is cleaner thicker vape at lower temperatures.

using the extra screens and material ground up I get a "cartridge-like" effect and the vapebonging has never been so thick or consistent even to the last hit.

One thing I have noticed on the HA is that you have these micro-jets and pre-sized air inlet on the back. The more I think about those holes being small I have also come to realize that I dont want to mess with the heater or heater assembly because it WORKS..... I just dont like teflon.

My first few test with the new pieces I made pissed me off a little because I had to adapt to the differences in pulling "big time". With stock parts I would pull slow and steady if using whip mode or vapebong.....now I let her rip like when I used to smoke the bong and it fills surprisingly evenly.

soon here I'm going to try and clean all my stuff up and take some good pics of everything since I now have modified quite a few pieces on my HA and it works great with all the piece I made but some times i feel I haven't shown the whole picture.

I've had a HA2.1 for a while now, but the other day I was at a party and some cat was so stoked by the HA he offered to buy it from me, on the spot for three bills cash with all the parts I had. I was like :o

So basically I got a free upgrade to the HA2.2, which I just got from planetvape on thursday. I'm really impressed by their service, because I was in Mississauga where they are located, the customer service rep offered to drive it down to me on his way home from work instead of having it sent out to the postage depot. Not much difference between the two cept for the mood light but I made about a half o's worth in that transaction so :D

The only thing is that the bags it came with seem to be leaking a fair bit more than the 2.1 bags. Can anyone recommend me a good brand of oven bags or replacement vape bags that are more durable?

...my final idea is to buy a piece of straight glass tube that would ride all the way through the Teflon main piece unlike the EQ piece I have now. This would let me keep the Teflon piece as my "seal" and also give me an all glass inner surface as far as the main mouth piece goes.

I find the Arizer Solo Glass Stem + HerbalAire Crucible combination convenient to manipulate and there's some improvement of the air flow too, not to mention the taste, but a short piece of large diameter glass straw going through the whole white teflon mouthpiece to connect non restrictive tubing (for a water-toy or else) would be equally interresting to me. The problem is shopping, i hate it and these things should come from the manufacturer anyway!

Again, really great posts samir. You are doing everything I have wanted to do for a very long time, but have been too lazy to figure out. Looking forward to seeing your detailed instructions. Now all we need for the most perfect vape is some kind of valve system for the balloons, kinda like what the volcano has but on the cheap.

As for what bags to use, I like the reynolds oven bags, they are durable and last a really long time if taken care of. The turkey sized ones are the best in my opinion due to the fact that they are the biggest ones made by reynolds. The rolls of volcano bags are great too, I just like the convenience of being able to go to the grocery store and buying them.

@onigiri1692- the instruction are the same as below except drill all the way through and use these parts:

Clear Glass Tubing, 7mm ID, 9mm OD, 1.0mm Wall, 6" Length
White SiliconeTubing, 5/16"ID, 7/16"OD, 1/16" Wall, Make sure its food grade not surgical grade

1. The screen in the main Teflon and bottom of the HA crucible are shit quality and coarse so lazy people don't have to clean them often. This is an easy fix just buy a bunch of different STAINLESS STEEL screen that are fine or micro fine. The difference is huge.... No tiny particles to irritate my throat and vapor quality changed. This is something that will create restriction keep in mind.
2. HA uses shitty stock tube. Its thin in comparison to other vaporizers and it taste/smells like crap. The best tube to use from my experiments is the tube made from good silicone not surgical silicone(only 400f) you need the food silicone (500f). I found some on amazon and ebay where you get it is your choice. Here is the specs i use: White SiliconeTubing, 5/16"ID, 7/16"OD, 1/16" Wall
3. In side of main Teflon is very narrow and so is the straw. The straw has got to be the biggest pain in the poop hole since it gets sticky and nasty. The best thing i could find to do with it was pop the old screen out of the main Teflon and take off the straw. next drill through the whole thing until it seems like the Extreme Q mouth piece will fit but its to tight to enter. Make sure you don't drill enough for it to fit since you wont get a seal like this. Now the tricky part: get tongs or pliers and submerge the Teflon and glass in hot (almost boiling) water for a minute and then carefully push the glass into the top of the Teflon. It will be tight and may need to be re-submerged many times to make a fit. once this is done let it cool and cover one side and blow through the other. There should be zero pressure leak (mine Holds 90psi from the shop compressor)... probably more too but I don't want to test that). Once that's all done and said, clean real nice, throw on some quality screens . Then throw on the good silicone hose and your machine has some serious performance gains.

Ok so I decided to take pictures of what I do for all Four modes since I had to build parts for them all.

1.) "Direct inhale" shouldn't need a picture since the glass straw is what you put to your mouth and then "direct Inhale"

2.) "Balloon mode" will require you build this balloon:
http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=6940

The bend in the tube makes balloon fills easier since you don't have to hold the balloon vertical:

DSC_0462.jpg

This creates much cleaner and denser balloon fills.

3.) The "Whip Mode" I use like this:
All I did was use an Extreme-Q mouth piece so I could have nice end for the the tube.
DSC_0461.jpg

4.) And Finally "vape-bonging" (my favorite).
All I did was use an Extreme-Q Elbow so I could have nice h2o adapter for cheap.

Word. I too have to agree with this statement. Sometimes I over pack the HA and it won't produce vapor. Using the solo stems insures conservation and a idiot proof way of vaporizing.

In any case, to the attention of those who may find that the glass gets too hot sometimes, it's easy to add a few inches of PVC tubing which won't detach easily. Here's how...

I simply cut one of my white straw in halves and inserted one part inside a short section of 3/16" (I. D.) tubing used as a joint to fit 5/16" (I. D.) tubing meant to work as a mouthpiece. The straw expands the 3/16" tube just enough to fit tightly in the glass tube. My PVC mouthpiece starts rotating if i insist gently, which in turn helps to make orientation more convenient during a session.

:peace:

Agreed, my 2.2 and my GonG setup is a dream cone true. The HA is so light is is quite easy to invert it and use.

GonG set up right out of the box.

Is there anything this unit doesn't do?
