Welcome to FC Mama Cass!

that's a super interesting image you have below! I feel like it is cut off? I want to know more about what is going on there!

The SSV is one amazing piece of hardware! it's my daily driver atm too! Do you rock the standard connection type? The artwork on your vape is also really cool!

Are you interested in getting more vapes? What made you want to register and join us officially?

weedemon,
Beautiful artwork Mama Cass! I'm so going home to bug my girlfriend to do a custom design on my EQ after seeing your awesome SSV.

That image below is my header, a self-portrait of sorts, a tribute to my mind/body connection.
I would love to get more vapes! Its a slow investment process.
So happy to hear you have one too! I use the spherical ground glass connection, its soooo nice.
I registered here on FC because ever since I got my SSV, i'm sayin "fuck combustion!"
I will have a second SSV design coming out soon, stay tuned :)

Luckily I've found this thread before I posted elsewhere. :)

Hello all, I noticed this site being mentioned many times on GrassCity where I am also registered as 'Durbs'. I've had past experience with vaporizers, the first being only a few years ago, but I've only just bought my first vaporizer, an MFLB, recently and I love it. I'm interested in buying another vaporizer and I'm thinking of a Da Budda.

I live in Toronto, Canada but I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa.
My parents brought me here when I was 17, that was 3 years ago and it's been a great home.
English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance for the future mistakes I will make.
I am a German-Boer so my first language(s) are German and Afrikaans.
I'll be heading to Germany soon to study Mechanical Engineering, which has always interested me.

Some of my other interests are music, I really enjoy RAC, NSBM, Martial Industrial and EBM, I am a keen student of history and I enjoy most to learn about the history of my own people, Boers, as well as other peoples of European origin as well as Oriental history such as Chinese and Japanese, politics is another of my interests, I'm an Afrikaner-Nationalist, and video games is also a great interest of mine, I play a lot of Killzone 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I chose 'Durbs' as my username because it is what English-South Africans call the city of Durban as slang, Durban Poison is my favorite strain.

That's my :2c: !

Hi everyone, I'm 24 from Ireland, got a volcano years ago but only giving it the use it should be getting in recent times. A friend of mine loaned me his iolite a while ago, I liked the whole portable vape buzz so I got myself a mflb 2 weeks ago. Enjoying the info on vape that I've been reading here.

Other than marijuana, my interests include playing music (I play guitar, small bit of drums, keyboards, ocarina, whatever I can get my hands on), video gaming, kayaking and most recently, surfing!

Loving the site :)

Do you water filter with your ssv too? Or mainly use it the standard way?

I use the standard HC but I am thinking about buying a spherical cover as a backup set to experiment and just to have for the dreaded day that a clumsy friend or myself breaks the wand/HC. Not happened yet, but it is unavoidable in this world of entropy :D

FC is totally the saying that I am sticking with too! Once i got a good intro to vapor i eventually quit smoking all together. been officially smoke free since march of this year! my lungs thank me too! no longer do i hear a wheeze when i go hiking on days like:

Regarding getting more vapes, you already have the king of the whips... I think you maybe be interested in a portable "on the go" style vape to compliment your arsenal.

If this is the case maybe the mflb would be a good up and comer for you to consider!

coming from another whip user, I would say the other areas of consideration for vape use would be:
1. portable/stealth (if you need stealth that is)
2. a high efficiency vape, like a log. these give smaller rips than the ssv of course, but give them time and they do their jobs really well too!
3. concentrates like BHO, QWISO, or hashes (for this job the options are a little more limited, you have the eclipse H2O, the eclipse pipe, and then Ti vapor swings.)
4. Bag vape, this is good for noobs, and lazy people who can't handle the learning curve of the other vapes :D haha well i just think there are other methods better than bags is all :p

@Blood 420,

Welcome aboard man! :) Nice to see another irishman join us! ;P

I am surprised you went with mflb over iolite since you are a local. :D good call though imo. :)

the volcano is a powerful vape no doubt about it! is yours the classic or digi?

Haha yeah I like the iolite and all but the mflb just seemed that much more portable/stealthier for my needs!

The volcano I have is the classic, a friend of mine liked it so much that he bought the digi version, I'm well jealous haha! I've had it for 4 and a half years and it's never given me any problems, damn thing is built like a tank!

I have the classic as well m8 and I agree that this is a beast. mine is coming up on the 3 year mark and still going strong too.

never seen the digi in the flesh before, but I imagine it's very similar.

for me the stealth is a big factor too! I love my MFLB! :p

in fact it's time for a hoot right now :) see ya round of the forums man!:)

Cannabis was first introduced to me when I was travelling in Laos. After smoking from a joint I found out that I was able to sit comfortably without feeling the need to squirm in pain for the first time in 10 months.

Hehe, smoking joints in Laos - yep, done that. Joints and Beerlao. Perfect country for it - it's like one big chilled floating dream of a place. I was there in Dec 2006 to Jan 2007 (and then dipped back in there in Nov 2007 to get from China to Thailand).

Hi Everybody,
I figure it's about time I introduced myself...

I found FC when I was doing a google search for vaporizer reviews. This site popped up, and the first thing I would like to say is thanks to everyone who posts here.
There is such a wealth of great information on here, and not only is everyone welcoming, but everyone seems to genuinely want to help everyone else. This is what a forum should be.:)

I've been lurking here since about Mid-May when I started looking for my 1st (technically 2nd) vaporizer. (The 1st vape I bought was a cheap conduction vape with the glass dome over the top of it - terrible efficiency, and just not a pleasure to use.)

After about a week of reading around the threads here, I gladly learned that just because the Volcano is the most expensive, doesn't mean it is the best, and I decided on an SSV directly from 7th floor. All up I spent AUD $375 on it.
Black Body, Red Base, Red/Blue Standard Heater Cover, Red/Blue Wand (I also Got a backup Heater Cover & Wand in the same color scheme just in case anything breaks - But everything is going fine right now:D). Thanks to the exchange rate, My Black SSV, with the 2nd full whip kit and international postage was pretty much the same price as the standard silver SSV from australianvaporizers.

Man, those 3 weeks waiting for international shipping were not fun... But then the day finally came, I got my SSV (on the thursday before a 4 day long weekend.).
My world was changed.
My herb was getting me WAY higher for WAY longer using WAY less...
Awesome.
I spent the first few weeks using it with the standard mouthpiece, as I didn't get the Water Pipe Adaptor, but after reading all the great things about Vapor-Bonging here, I knew I had to try it.
I only had 1 GONG piece at the time, the Bushmaster Cyclone. I managed to MacGuyver its one-hitter cone-piece into my SSV tubing and I was all set to Vapor-Bong.
I wasn't too impressed at first, it seemed the same as without. then I went back to the regular mouthpiece, and I understood why so many people prefer water filtration - it's hard to describe why, but I've been using water filtration almost exclusively since then.

Just so this post doesn't become massive, I'll shorten the rest:

I then got an Extreme Q on eBay from Vapeworld for AUD$175 including shipping - I got it purely to see what bag vapes are like, and while I liked it, it didn't even come close to the SSV IMO. (I actually tried it through a bong last night for the first time - I much prefer it over the bags, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the SSV IMO). The Q spends most of its time gathering dust, but still gets to see some action every now and again.

At the same time I got the Q, I also got a Sneak-A-Vape on eBay for like $8. IMO, I'd rather have the $8 back...

Next I got a MFLB from australianvaporizers. I like it, but cannot see myself using it all that often - there's just something that isn't satisfying about it... (Thats not to say it didn't get me high...) Maybe it's the lack of visible vapor?

My next purchase I made was an Ariser Solo from Vaproizer For Weed when they had their big discounts on it. I managed to get it for $220 including International Shipping, which I was quite happy with, especially for such a new Vape. This is now my official portable vape. I love it. Again, It can't hold a candle to the SSV IMO, but it gets pretty darn close for a portable.

In addition to all of my lovely vaporizers, I also ordered some SSV accessories from 7th Floor. I got a 6 arm water filter, Blemished Custom Mouthpiece (I Honestly cannot find a blemish on it), a Vapor Tamer (I ordered an old style one due to the massive discount, but I can't tell if I got that or a fatty, further research is required) and I currently have on order a custom heater cover: Ground Glass, with a 135 degree bend instead of the usual 90 - which makes the opening parallel to the ground.

I'm pretty sure I've got the disease Vitolo mentioned somewhere - VCD - Vaporizer Collection Disorder.
There are still so many I still want to have in my collection...
A Supreme, an LSV, a VHW, A Purple Days or Aromazap, The VXC (When it comes out), and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few...

I have only combusted a few times since I got my SSV, and every time has told me one thing:
FUCK COMBUSTION
I honestly cannot go back.

By the way, can anyone suggest a good picture hosting site?
I wouldn't mind getting a few pics up here of my collection eventually.

Hiya Frederick and welcome - another Australian here.

Yeah, with the MFLB make sure you extra-dry your weed first before grinding it, otherwise it won't grind finely enough or vape easily enough. So at least a few hours befoure you plan to grind it, put your bud on a warm surface like the top of an appliance - on your TV or monitor will work (as long as it's going). The weed will go crispy and brittle. And if you haven't already got one, get a decent grinder with a screen or two - the kief works very nicely in the Launch Box.

I see you already have a Solo, so you're generally covered for portable vaping, but the advantage of the MFLB is the stealth factor - you can use it pretty much anywhere. I've vaped in the middle of the Melbourne CBD. And in cinemas, and public transport ...

Qbit,
Thrilled to have discovered this forum. In the past three months or so I have used cannabis to improve the quality of my life and I exclusively use a vaporizer to try and make sure my lungs stay healthy. I purchased a vaporizer from Amazon.com that looks exactly like this one - if anyone can tell me the name that this vaporizer goes by so I can look up information about it, I would really appreciate it!

31Hanq7UYbL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I often attempt to conduct experiments to ensure that I am maximizing the potency of my weed and using the vaporizer in the best way possible. Sometimes it's pretty annoying and it's hard to do unless I'm really focused and doing it by myself (science is lame :( ) but I have fun and I have found that slow vaporization of very small amounts of weed is very effective. I look forward to reading posts on how to do stuff properly, especially with ABV / spent marijuana and engaging in non-idiotic discussions of utility. For a time I found cannabis consumption unappealing because I didn't like a lot of the boneheaded "bro" culture that surrounds it at the outer levels - frankly I don't like smoking or vaping with people who do things like take drinking alcohol really, really seriously ("DUDE I DID SO MANY BEER BONGS LAST NIGHT!") because they tend to be obsessed over counting the number of intense bong rips, and it gets stale. However I've found some really excellent people to chill with and quite frankly my life has improved greatly now that I vaporize about 3x a week to relax, reminisce, and refocus.

I would like to keep some personal details private but I'd like to engage culture. I have a lot of experience posting on forums which is why I write a fuckton, so I apologize in advance for that annoying fact. I'm a college student on the east coast of the United States pursuing graduate degrees in engineering. I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and watching baseball, ice hockey, and college football. Obviously I am a huge nerd and I hope there are some others here. I like to read and discuss philosophy, mathematics, economics, and psychology.

Rather sincerely,

fuck combustion. seriously.
