I've placed orders for enough parts to do a limited first run of packs.

How to order batteries 4 the solo?

As well, I now am no longer going to limit myself to the Arizer Solo vaporizer. The Inhalater INH004, XP, Pax, and from the looks of it, the VaporBlunt 2 all are based off of 18650 technology and would benefit from the extra capacity of the NCR18650. I am going to get my ducks in a row and start a new thread for the whole shabang.

Im glad you have made progress towards making these available. I know a lot of people can benefit.

I lost momentum after I got burned for $185 from dealextreme. :(

Aw man elmomuzz that sucks... I do my best to steer clear of DX after a couple other issues I've had with them as well.

BTW people I need to find another phillips screwdriver cause I couldn't even get the screws out. You all have to much faith in me. The point was to big so it didn't make a good connection to turn the screw and it was starting to strip. This is a tiny phillips that I use on my wheelchair a craftsman so I don't even think i have a smaller one but have to look.

Careful not to over tighten when putting them back in....i've cracked the casing on all 4 screws because of that, and it's easy to do so just be careful.

And yes Dreamerr, you need the right tool for the job or don't even bother. I have a nice precision screwdriver set that I use.

I've cracked all of my corners too. Though it doesn't really affect anything it's a bit of an aesthetic blip. Eyeglass screwdrivers work great for these screws.

I am getting much closer, I have received all of the protection circuits and JST leads, just need to get the actual cells in and then I will be ready.

Is it worth it for someone with perfectly good batteries to upgrade to the high performance battery pack, or is the best strategy to wait until the stock batteries start faltering?

King, I think that's completely up to you. Do you want more runtime? Is it worth the money? That's up to you to decide bro. I'm still on the fence since i'll be getting a brand new Solo this week, but eventually i'm sure it will be a must (unless I sell it)

I'm definitely interested as well. My stock battery pack I think was never 100% --bad luck I guess, still can get 4-5 sessions a battery, so any improvements past are welcome with open arms.

Vape4Life pretty much hit it; but just to reiterate, it's all up to you. If you want to have an extra couple of sessions in the tank for a long work day or road trip, then yeah it is totally worth it. But your not missing out on anything during your sessions with a normal battery, just getting less of them per charge.

Hi Centizen,
I am glad to see that you are progressing! I hope you solved your problems with carriers, 'cause I am ordering form Europe...
I am looking for alternatives for all-day-vaping in my next trip to Amsterdam, and, as the 4 hour battery Ascent is not here yet, powering up my solo would be just great.
So, I will stay tuned.

Maybe you will allow me to go off-topic just for a little:
I read a lot about batteries in the forum, and I fell lost: protected, unprotected, added circuitry ...
I have searched the internet a bit, but maybe you will be so kind to recommend me an introductory book/link on the subject.I was thinking about a "Batteries 101" textbook. I have studied a bit of electronics so I think I can cope with technical stuff.
Please don't think I am lazy, I have searched the internet for this, but really can't discriminate good from bad, important form accessory...that is why I ask an expert.

On the contrary overvaped, I would be happy to point you in the right direction. And you are in luck! There is a wonderful resource for battery information that I found while doing research in the past and I have used it as reference material ever since. It's called Battery University and the guy who runs it based it off of a textbook he wrote. There is a lot of information available there on the basics and every type of battery, but I'd recommend you start here to learn about Li-Ion batteries which are the ones I am using for these packs. Check these articles out:

Safety Concerns with Li-ion.
Protection Circuits.
