Arizer Solo

I have to try this! :p Good idea!
I'm surprised not everyone knows how to do this. I do it with every single on of my vaporizers except of course for the cloud and the TI, but I have learned if I get a tube that fits around the ELB of the cloud I could also do it there too. lol But I do the suck up method with my Inhalator, Da buddha, and my solo. I actually learned it from watching this videos years ago.

Great video...
I tried to suck up my herb but it didn't work now I know why. No screen no sucky.
I just compared the INH ABV with the Solo ABV and the solo is way darker. I ran them both through twice.
It is a new thing I am trying to run the unit two cycles on one stash. I may try and do three. I have done four on a dare in the inhalater but gave up nasty tasting but still vape and still medicating.

some experiments:

- solo with vapexhale swagger double hyratube using planetvape.ca solo to 18mm stem. results were really good. about 60-70% what the hydratube can do with the cloud with added drag. so not as good as a cloud but would be a good spare when the cloud is out for repair

- PVHES turbo - wow. tons of airflow. in fact, too much. my lungs are getting used to the cooler smoother tastier vape from the cloud. but definitely lost of draw.

- cutting notches in the edge of the stock bowl - the PVHES bowls have small notches (4) cut into into the edge of the glass to provide more airflow. so i used my mototool and a thick abrasive disc to cut 8 nothches in a stock stem. increases airflow dramatically. if you do this go slow, not too much pressure and low RPMs. you don't want to over heat the glass and crack it

- washing stems in ISO and getting high again - tried rinsing a couple really resined up stems in 99% iso. evapourated it down. soaked into gauze. dried the gauze and cut up and put into vape (solo and cloud). amazing! actually tastes nice, like a carmel or something. and actually got quite high on it, my gf and i. she was amazed. make sure to get the gauze nice and dark so really concentrated.

ok that's enough for now

Has anyone tried the Arizer Solo Granadillo H2o Wand sold on puffitup ?
I am wondering whether it will give better airflow when using it without a water pipe as i do not plan on using a water pipe with it at all.

http://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Solo-p/sologranadillostem.htm

Basic question would be is the Granadillo H2o Wand good enough or should i order the planet vape high efficiency stems separately from planetvape.ca ?

Dreamerr how are you finding the stems fit in your solo? I got a new M1A3 from puffitup and the stems fit very loosely. From what I've heard with the new models, the stems should fit snug and securely. I'm unsure whether to return it on that basis as it makes the unit feel quite unstable.

I'm still on the edge with the solo. I know I really want it but after buying a PAX and a PA for my MF, the money just keeps flying out of my pocket. :\

Didn't you see my complaints and my signature changing hour by hours. Damn stems was the first one. It took time but they loosened up. I am not sure you want to return it for the tighter fit unless something is wrong with the insert they use. You will get better air flow with the looser stem and won't even need the PVES LMNOP from PV if that works.

I do have a question however. I read the battery life is 2-3 hours, no way. I use 5 bowls and dead...I am using it at 4 and a little of 5 for the full cycle which is one hour. I haven't timed the cycle from warm up but the book says 12 minutes which it might be. I will try to remember to look at the clock today.

Another question is about headaches. This happened when I first got the INH as well but allergies are always an issue and never know if it is the vape. I happen to get both when I was having allergy issues however my headache yesterday was bad and had to take more then usual amount of pills. Can it be the restricted flow which I happen to like for the moment? I do a draw faster then really slow as jam would do when she uses her water, and I like it cause I get a lot of vape but not thick. This way I get good meds and no cough. I hate using the real slow draw but I will say I am drawing slower then any of my other vapes. Is this causing the headache or is it just bad allergies?

Eds stems are great - plus their notched like PVHES' stems for improved airflow.

Where do you get ed's stems and how much are they? I would like one as a back up cause I know I am going to break the glass eventually.

I actually like the looser fit in one way - I find that maneuvering the stem (in and out almost as if I was playing a trombone and moving the mouthpiece in and out)offers a different airflow experience. While pulling on the unit to get a hit try this - ever so slightly pull the stem outward a few centimeters and at that end of the inhale start to push the stem back in. I may be crazy but everyone else that I taught this technique to seems to agree. I have also learned that the type of screen will effect not only the drag but flavor as well. Recently I complained about unevenly cooked ABV and have concluded it was due to screens. I WAS - no longer am - using the soft mesh screens from my N02, they are a bit larger than needed but soft enough to actually fold into the solo stem giving what I thought was better protection against a mouth full of kief - what I found was that 1. they're a cheaper material and actually started giving off an ass like flavor 2. Because they are much finer and much smaller holes they clog easier causing even more resistance and 3. once cleaned more often they start to deteriorate.

I don't get 2-3 hours either of battery life. I usually take 1 1/2 sessions to finish a stem, i by the 3rd stem it is at 2 already.

EdsTNT.com or Amazon are also good options.

Ed's stems have a little bigger capacity, mount up perfectly to a 14mm GonG joint and are pretty much indestructible.

They also take a bit longer to heat up than the glass stems, and the taste just isn't as pure. If I'm relaxing and enjoying some quality cannabis, I still use my glass stem with a screen. The pure, unadulterated taste of good bud is just phenomenal.

If I feel like being a purist, I just go bent glass with a screen. If I want to just have a knock-back, cloud-chasing session, I'll have a full Ed's stem with my mini-bong on heat setting 7.

I didn't know the ones on puffitup were ed's so didn't order it. I will get one eventually cause just want a backup. I doubt I will use it often unless I really start breaking the glass. I am loving the coolness in temp of the glass. I will talk about taste and all that stuff when I review.

On a good note I suppose, I took my headache pills about an hour ago and my head is still bashing. It is early in the morning so I guess it is allergies. NO I didn't vape yet today.

On a side note what is up with this site being an alert on avast today? Every time I click a link to this site in my email I am getting a warning. I am running a scan now.

I don't get anywhere near 2 hours battery life. A couple of stems in and the battery is already at 3/4. These new models seem to have not so good battery compared to say, the M107 (from what I've read). :(
Apologies, Dreamerr, I completely missed your comments about the stems. I think I'll keep this model if the loose stems aren't any cause for concern.

I have the 1A3 and it has the worse battery life of my vapes or at least it appears that way so far. The DV has a ten minute run time and I get more bowls. I do hate that the charger plug goes on the bottom of the vape so you have to lay it down. If this is the battery life I will either have to switch vapes off my night stand a lot or get the pass through. I am still testing and practicing.

Battery life until the meter reads 0 or until it shuts off?

I think it may have been on 2 but then when I tried to fire up another stem it just had the blue light and wouldn't allow me to raise the heat at all so it was dead(that would have been bowl number 6). It took about an hour to charge up to around 6 or maybe even 7 but the green light was still flashing. Since I was able to fall asleep I did and unplugged it when I woke up one of the many times I do.

The newer models have the same battery life as the previous models as stated earlier in the thread. The difference is the newer models have different firmware, which the battery indicator seems to deplete faster than actual battery life.

If I understand you correctly, that seems strange. The battery indicator was at a 2, but it wouldn't turn on? That shouldn't happen.

I hate to tell you this, but the solo was giving me headaches from the tight draw too, esp. using it w/ a water piece, using the stock stems. I had actually put my Solo aside because of it, and when the PVHES stems came out (also Ed's stem) the improved airflow made it so I could use the Solo again, with out getting that head caving in feeling. So you either have to give it a super light draw, or get one of the PVHES stems and experience the easier draw... yes, more to buy... it seems to never end unless you can find happiness with what you have.

I can see why lots of people are put off by the tight draw with the stock stems, but I actually like the restricted air flow, since it seems to improve the vapor/air ratio. My technique, whether through a water piece or the stock stems, is just to sip it super slow. I'm reluctant to buy either Ed's stems or the PVHES because I enjoy the clean vapor taste so much. I will add, however, that using the stock stems it's critical to keep your screens clean. I change mine out pretty often.
