Hi Guys.
Back for a quick Update.

Re: Plastic Taste Take 2
Dogman: I did a little digging for you. Turns out it's the silicone tubing used in the Vapor Path. I spoke to the tubing manufacturer at length. Seems they use a a vegetable based mold lubricant added to ensure smooth flow thru the extrusion equipment that makes the tubing. I'm assured it's non toxic (has to be to meet FDA requirement for "food Grade") but it does smell/taste a bit funny.
Its seems that it is particularity prevalent in Fresh material "hot of the presses so to speak". Typically it is removed by "post curing" the material in an oven for about an hour after initial manufacturing however This will cause the tubing to loose some of it's clarity and go a bit hazy. Now since I didn't know to spec otherwise when ordering they just assumed I wanted clarity. Not really.
So all future units will include post cured silicone tube!
The dissipation you are experiencing is likely due to the heat cycling of the tube as you use it, and I'm sure it will disappear in time.

Re: Stir Tool.
There is a reason it is listed as "optional' in the manual.
We've always found that best results are very Fine grind and packed down a bit. (I think Dogman is finding same) and the stirring tool only loosens thing up. But it was request from an early tester so we added it to the product.
Some have found it useful other not so much...like I say "optional" ;)

Re: Availability.
While we are flattered by the demand (here and elsewhere), We are Still getting kinks out of production and laying groundwork for distribution via other channels and in other parts of the world. It'll take a couple months to get it all right.

Cheers

You're off to a great start, we love all forms of customer service/communication here!

If you haven't already, can you comment on how much it would cost to get the battery replaced years down the road?

OK, Andrew, you've won me over. Your reasonable response to my color blind issue impressed me, it's easy to understand how it wouldn't be considered unless you were aware there was colorblindness in some folks lives. Your repeated returns here signal more than the usual concerns from your end.

I said I'd hold off until a few objective owners posted, and that's started happening, I ready to take a chance on it.....save for the distributor issue. I hope you understand how that can be a problem for some.

I understand you've got a lot on your plate, and putting the effort in to cover your obligations is the first move, but knowing you've got other distribution plans on the list keeps me interested. FWIW I suggest you check out Plane Vape. First rate outfit, IMO. Long, positive history here. Also very responsive to customer input. I think you might be an excellent match even the most critical of FC members could support, myself among them.

Best wishes in your endeavors, please keep us posted on other distributor news. At this point I'd consider it an honor to be one of the first (if I'm too slow to get in first) buyers there.

Thanks again for your efforts, it speaks well of you confidence in your product and gives some confidence to folks like me.

The stir tool just loosens up the blend and you get better vapors from a packed bowl. I've been using the Puffit for 3 days now and i love it. I've used it twice on busy NYC streets and no one paid any attention to me. I'm so glad i got one of the first ones.:D Now i'm waiting for them to make the blue ones that look like a Ventolin;)

I also want to know how much it will cost to replace the battery and what's the best way to clean the Puffit? I don't have any buildup yet but just want to take good care of the unit.

Hey vapors thanks for your posts , I see you have a magic flight and was wondering if you would be so kind and advise on how the MFLB compares to the puffitt ?

Hi Lefthook, I don't like the MFLB. I bought a Volcano in 2002 and never used anything else until a friend convinced me to get the MFLB in 2010. I don't like the batteries or the hits you get out of it. I put it away. I tried it again after reading these threads, still don't like it. I travel to see family in Ca quite often and needed another vape to leave there, did some research and tried the iolite. I prefer that to a MFLB.
Recently i bought a DaVinci and i love that vape. I use that and now the Puffit. For me, the Puffit and DaVinci are better vapes. The DaVinci gives good vapors and i like that i can use it while it's charging. The Puffit gives good vapors also. it's very stealth, i had it out on the streets again yesterday.
So, in my opinion the Puffit is a better vape than the MFLB, but i'm sure all those people in the MFLB thread would disagree ;)

Lo

Combustion free since '09
lol... Yeah I'd have to say that is a personal preference kinda thing comparing. I have both LB's & IO's and I prefer the LB unless I'm on the go, in the boat or somewhere I need a free hand, etc. Personal preference but w/ the LB I can get really tasty hits and nice clouds w/ my fine grind while the IO starts to taste funky during sessions IMHO.

I'm watching all these new vapes coming out and I'm intrigued but I'm waiting for more reviews on them all myself. If you hang around the forum long enough you can get to know what users have preferences similar to yours and watch their thoughts when they try new vapes - that helps me figure things out. Find a "shared preference" buddy or three lol

Lets see a video of this in use people!

Yes , I second the vids .
It is still the best tesimony/usage of a new model or any units .
And I mean from real owners , not commercials from the company .
The ventolin model would be a great portable design :)

I really like the new look FC has put together .
But I wish their was a menu/tab or link to videos for each of their threads , that you can just link to
and watch .

Plus ;
I want to join in on the fun ;
How do I upload a vid to FC ?
Please point me to that thread or instructional steps .
I've never uploaded any vids on you-tube either .

Any help would be appreciated .
Anyone ?
Bueller ?

Go to youtube, make an account if you don't have one, upload a video. (set to private/unlisted if you don't want it to be public)

Then find the "embed" link to your video and copy that into a post here, the forum automatically turns it into a mini youtube video player when you post

Thanks for the feedback vapors and also Lo.
I think you are right and all vapes all come down to personel preference
I do think I will hold out for the puffit as it seems like it ticks all the boxes and I don't have to worry about forgetting the battery's.
My memory is not that great at times lol knowing my luck I will forget the herb instead

Thanx JoeK ,
I will give it a try .
As you can tell , I'm not very tech-savvy .
But that sounds simple enough , even for me .
And yes , set to private , was good advice :)

I've been pumped about this vape for a couple of weeks now and now I'm getting antsy. I've found myself in several situations where really I wish I had one. I'm still completely in love with me LB but I too have been getting tired of charging/carrying batteries ever since I bought the power adapter. Aaaand the LB takes a lil longer than I like to get medicated when I'm in a hurry, especially if the batteries aren't fresh. I like with the Puffit I'll be able to just grab the unit and go and charge it basically anywhere (if it works with my solar charger that'd be a super double extra bonus!) I like to research every gadget I buy so I'm gonna wait a couple more weeks for another review or two and perhaps a video before I drop the dough but so far I like what I hear and I see this vape in my future :)

For you guys that already use a portable vape, how do you usually carry your herb? I usually use one of the Rx bottles from my dispensary, but it's not exactly stealthy. I'm looking for a new way to carry when I get my PUFFiT.

TIA

Someone in the DaVinci thread posted a link to buy these.

I bought a few. I was out today and filled 2 of them before i left the apt. I had enough to really fill the Puffit 3 times. Not one person paid any attention to me using this vape today and i was standing on a corner basically in the middle of a parade lol

Me too , I use the RX bottles .
But I find after leaving it in the glove compartment on a hot day , the herbs gets moist
and starts to stick to the sides of the bottle . A bit wasteful , just a bit .
I was hoping to find a stainless steel holder and scoop/spoon , or just metallic material .
I could just soak it in ISO for easy cleaning .

But what I'm really looking for is something that would help me re-load my chamber with ease ,
waiting for the traffic lights to change . I remember seeing these glass vials that coke users have ,
where they just flip it upside down , and a certain amount would fall into a cap compartment .
They would only snort the amount in the closed compartment cap . ( it's for my NO2 )
I know they have some pre-loads caps for their mini , but I want something that I have to
only buy once and locally too .

I use metal lip gloss tins. They're small so they fit in my pocket, and they're absolutely smell proof. Each one can hold a lil over an eighth (before grinding) and one is strictly for on-the-go ABV. My favorite part of my lil kit tho is an xacto blade holder I use for my fine-grind herbs. Of course I just lost it tho while I was out of town over the weekend so I can't take a pic of it but it was a small plastic tube with a little red lid. It makes filling and refilling easy and accurate. I can get the lid off, pour and put the lid back on all with one hand. This is an old pic I posted a while back-the little tube on the front left.

It holds 2 full LB trenches but I cut my tube in half so a whole tube should double that. It's surprisingly smell-proof too! And that little thing fits in that teeny tiny 5th pocket in my jeans

The more I think about it , yes .
This is what I'm looking for , I can pre-load a dozen bottles with just enough herbs for 1 chamber
per bottle . They look like they would fit on top of my NO2 chamber nicely .
Now I just have to find them locally .
Not really worth it ordering on-line .

Nice set up dncrgrl ,
What are the 3 round colorful tins behind the red tube ?
They look like something to hold your herbs in .
And how do you keep your mflb so clean ?
My trench is blackened from combusting too much accidentally .
It just browns the herbs and produces very little vapors now .
I think the term may be called " hitting it cold " .
Back to the mflb thread ...

Ordered this from GotVape, got two uses out of it before the battery died. Went to recharge and realized the unit would not recharge (no flashing to say it was charging) - so unit was DOA with a defective charging port or battery. Promptly sent back to GetVape.

Also - contacted gotvape and they told me they received my rma but they are now "out of stock" even though the site says in stock and they are still taking order.

Their response after 5 emails and a call: "We will try to get your out a new unit asap" - Shady shady

You are correct, the three (now 4) tins hold my different herbs- each holds a little over an eighth and are smell proof. They were originally lip butter from Macy's :D And since the tin itself says "lip butter" no one bothers it if one is laying around.
Oh, and my MFLB trench looks NOTHING like that anymore :uhoh: That pic is from quite a few months back and about a month before I bought the power adapter which led to about a month of combustion haha so my trench is pretty ugly. It still works fine but it'd be nice to have a Puffit and take some of the workload off of the box.
