Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Thread sizes are easy, and adapters are a dime a dozen. Nobody cares!
(is it just me or is anyone else wondering why we keep "derailing")
Back to topic the thread is named for....
Omicron
Happy to report that today is day 11.
I still have that same gram of hash oil in it, and during this morning's session, I got to my 150th (152)hit on a gram.
Priming is no easier on this particular oil, but it is now very predictable, and I am very comfortable with it.
Fact is I now grab the Omicron, and begin priming while still laying down. I sit up, and am ready for 1st hit!
Very effective morning treatment!

Nobody know how to use a pitch gauge?

Thc Sci are the instructions for the omicron out yet? It would be great to see ! Can't wait to see what you put out next. Nov. 15 too far away I'm impatient. Does your new release go with the Omicron? Or another vape? How bout some clues. Thanks for everything

Where did you find for $100 each? It looks to me like they are $179 each from THC.

hes' talking about buying hte double kit. 2 @ 199 (but he didnt mention really for 2 kits you need to buy the extra charger, and another box of carts.

this puts tihe total cost up to 140 each vape.

O.k., I just read this entire thread-Now I feel like a caveman using my vapman. It seems so primitive compared to this! The future is here! I have some questions that weren't really answered here.

-I notice on their webpage it says the cartridges need to be stored at 50-80 degrees. So, what happens on a 95 degree day? What happens if they freeze?

-Would any problems arise from carrying it in a pocket or backpack, and exposing the cartridges to repeated shaking from hiking or mountain biking for many hours (I'm thinking about leakage)?

-What if someone is a light user, and the 400 hits from a gram takes a month or more to use...will the potency degrade or the canniboid profile change because of the repeated heating and cooling?

-early on in the thread THC-scientific said this device is not for oil novices, as in-don't switch to concentrates just to use the Omicron....Why is that?

Not inexpensive but an incredible device. If it turned out I really like the Omicron, and the batteries hold their charge, I could keep one in reserve, loaded.

But couldn't I keep both Omicron batteries charged with a single charger? I would probably hold off getting the extra carts until I need them because if I get a 200+ hits per gram I think the initial six would last a while.

So its now been about 3 weeks since I loaded up a gram of OG Nitro Wax into my 3rd cartridge...well i've been hitting it everyday sporadically whenever i get the urge, maybe 15-25 hits per day on average...

Well I just weighed this cartridge and there is still 0.7g left. I haven't lost any potency or taste and the vapor clouds are still coming consistently. I dont know if i'm considered a light or heavy user but I don't baby it at all...I take huge rips. It seems like i'm going through 0.1g a week of wax...thats freakin amazing and my friends who have iVapors can't believe it because they are constantly picking up more carts for their devices every few days.

The first cart that i put 0.5g of diesel oil in about a month and a week ago also has 0.2 left and i've definitely hit it more than 500 times. Seems like I will get another 200 hits before its empty. My 2nd cart has some really crappy oil i got for free from a relative and i stopped hitting it the day i got my Nitro wax. I haven't spent any money on trees in weeks and have only occasionally smoked a few hits of blunts or joints when friends roll up. I feel like my lungs and my wallet has been given new life.

The more I use my omi's the more i love them...

Gotta say I agree. Its been about a week now since DubC finally figured out my issue and the device has been flawless. I carry it around horizontally on my mountain bike for the last week. Once the thing cool off the concentrate is solid and wont move around in my opinion. I would be concerned if you were on a ride and hit IT a few times and passed it around hot and then put it immediately away it might leak but that's why they have these white little caps.

I'm not using the cap on my bike as a solo user and have had 0 issues. One unit now lives in my bike handle bar pack.

The NitroOG wax is giving me really big rips. Primes easier than the Blueberry CO2 and hits amazing. Love the lemon flavor. makes it even better than it was only $20/g at the expo instead of $50 at the local club. I was amazing myself with the clouds I was blowing sitting in bed last night.

The temps specified are the operating range.

at the low end. The concentrate is frozen and the heating element lacks enough wattage to vaporize. I still plan on testing that this winter on the slopes.

at the high end the concentrate can start melting and ooze out. There is white cap that can be used that will keep the contents of the cart from leaking out when its hot. These caps should be removed before use.

I am very pleased today

today was day 12, same gram of Hash Oil, and after medicating for Nausea, I celebrated it being friday, by bringing that cartridge up to it's 200th hit!
I did my normal dozen, then after showering etc., I did a bunch more hits for pleasure.
I learned something. The Black Hash Oil is very hard to work with.. almost like epoxy resin.. but that gram is going strong still!
I took my cartridge out and set it to stand for storage, and decided to move on to the next cart.
I have a gram of Alaskan Ice, Ear Wax.
This stuff was extremely simple to load.. I stretched it into a string, and fed it into my funnel which I pre heated... the stuff literally fell into the cartridge. It did everything except ask me if I wanted a hit! :lol:

I can scrape it up no problem, and when heated it turns to a clear drip, and in seconds.. back to putty!
I am floored!
As tricky as the Black is to prime... this requires absolutely no prime whatsoever.
When cold, it lets you draw, and it gives a wonderful cloud each time.
A new level of love for my Omicron.
A cartridge (hard to prime) in reserve after feeding me 200 hits of oil....
and the Alaskan Ice, with it's no prime delight... makes me the Vito I was meant to be today!

This is the remnants from a gram (It was in plastic so I did not heat container) that I just loaded.

Great to hear Vitolo. Same results here. earwax works beautfully and it tastes way way better than hash oil IMO. Surprised you didn't comment on the taste difference?

True enough.. The taste was much cleaner and spicier.
I think I was just so overwhelmed and "floored" by the ease of fill... the lack of prime.. and the speed of hit to think of further good things to add!! :lol:

I have access to wax, budders and oils. Sounds like you would recommend waxes over oil. What about Budder, any reason to think they won't work as well as wax?

Also, budder is around $10 more per gram than wax. Is budder typically a higher THC percentage? Just wondering what the price difference is about.

It depends on strain, weather, method, solvent, purging, whipping, etc.

I've been making Cheese oil lately and some batches I whipped over low heat into a waxy substance then after I vacuum purged it is very stable and shatters at room temp. It's a translucent amber color, and I can easily pick it up and play with it for awhile before it starts to get sticky.

Had one batch I whipped for a little while over some heat, but it turned into a very light colored crumbly budder that was hard to dab up cause it just didn't hold together well.

One was a very nice amber type wax again for awhile and then we had some real humid weather and it turned to budder on it's own.

I'm no expert just my experience in the past few weeks.

Sorry to repeat myself, but I'm wondering how the Omicron would work for hiking/camping. It's quite common it's warmer than 80...and with camping it can easily be less than freezing overnight.

Would the cartridge be ruined if it gets below 50, or freezes? Or, would it work fine once warmed back to normal temps?

Seriously, in SoCal it's always getting over 80 degrees, quite commonly in the 90's...Can you use this when it's hot? Or will it leak...?

Well you can go as cold as you want, just not so cold that the seals freeze and crack. but for hot weather, you might run the risk of leaks if its direct sunlight.

We have had issues with the units leaking in the car when under direct sunlight. But this was the dead middle of summer where the temp was 120+ inside the car. We just wiped the bottom off and reused it. Some people have had leaking with it around 95-105 degrees, but we cant confirm this. So we set a conservative range.
