Any good souls know the price of the port side? Got me a skeletor on the way, just curious about the price difference as well as other differences ( besides that I have to build "Skelly" a house...) Btw- I am friggin STOKED!!!)))))) Thanks and Cheers, D.

I have not built a house for my skeletor...... yet. I'm finding out she likes to work naked. ;)

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
I think that if you have to wait 5-6 secs after the click to have light vapor then you should change how deep your VC goes into the induction coil, the more it goes in the hotter it should click

@Pipes knows better than me but while with power supply (jarhead), if you go too much in, the power drain will out power the power supply, with port side you have more power (20A vs 5-6A) and should not risk overpowering the device

I have my own made port side, and while I was calibrating the depth it went from very fast and cold click to very slow and combusting one

I settled in the middle,I stop heating at the click and I always get nice even brown Abv in 3-4 cycles (and clouds as with a torch)

Hold up them horses a bit. Intentions are good but this adjustment should be done only if AVB is considerable darker near the tip. It will always be slightly darker at the tip due to the convection portion of the equation. I tried to keep it on the side of a small count, after the click, to accommodate all devices.
There are many reasons for a longer time after click. VC model, production run, herb itself, clicker calibration, connection on DC cord, as well as time accuracy.
It is only human nature for folks to start to doubt their heaters optimization once a discussion about it starts. Which is how things get discovered, and corrected. However, the flip side is although the adjustment is not a hard task, I can foresee many trying it just to experiment, and some may manage to pull an oppsy somehow. Happens to all of us.
Anyway, if comfortable with performing the adjustment and like to experiment, good stuff!!:science:

So please, for the most part, only adjust the height if your getting dark AVB at the tip and when not touching the cap.
Long wait times with even AVB, must be something else. Which could be normal for what you are doing....?

;)

Still very happy with my Jarhead, a very convenient heating system for the Vapcap!

It happens a few times I got some smoke while heating the cap cause some little bits were sticked on the outside of the cap ... and burns. So be careful your cap is clean before to insert it for heating.

My AVB is darker near the tip and I expected that. I do not feel its a big enough issue for me to want to adjust anything. Its working quite fine for me, I must say. Its a big compliment to the VC. Thanks Pipes!! :)

Now after my skeletor is proofed water-restistant I'm looking for an enclosure shaped as a German U-Boot (Type VII) tower with the swordfish signature of the 9th Flottilia ;)

Well I received my portside Saturday. I still haven't been able to pull my jaw off the floor. This thing is incredible so far. Only have done a few bowls, so of coarse I need more testing. Thanks @Pipes for your hard work, and its only right to thank usps for once for the fast shipping.

Had been off FC for a couple weeks, and just got to this thread to catch up. All so AWESOME!

My PS had some issues. Had to mail back to Pipes, and he got it back to me quickly. DAMN! I am loving this puppy. Only one bad thing about it... It is too damned easy to just drop a VC in for a couple seconds and get a hit or 2. Not too big if a drain on the stash with VCs, but I am too stoned too much!

Many thanks to @Pipes for this amazing gizmo!

... I have been doing a regular heat up about 3 seconds past the click with an omni XL and then, before the click, I slip in another heat up for about two seconds and wowzers! This technique really makes my omni vape cloudy with joy! So thanks.

steama, what do you mean by "and then, before the click" ? Before the cool down click?

Modded my M tip and now, the M works waaaay better with my jarhead II. Its way easier to rips some clouds because of the mod. But for whatever reason, my M is putting my omni to shame. For what its worth, I've got the 4th gen Ti tip in my omni

My guess is that SS takes longer to heat up but retains the heat for longer so you get a bigger/longer session between clicks.

Unless I'm distracted I run every bowl the same way, and I prefer the filed M tip and always tamp the load so it's well away from the clicker.

@GreenHopper I agree more mass and different thermal properties mean the heat stays longer in the SS.

Once the vapor production dies off I'll top it up with a couple of seconds of heat, take a toke and if it's not enough just add a bit more.

@cybrguy Each time I take the cap off I check the contents and pea shooter it out, the abv is much lighter in colour than when I use a triple torch.

And I'm getting more bang for my buck, where as before I'd have put the cap back on and torch the load to get the last bit out now I just dump it, I've more than got my money's worth.

Little and often rather than 2-3 big hits.

HOOOLLLLYYY SHIT!

First of all, I was expecting the package on Thursday. Was kind of bummed out as it hadn't get any tracking updates since the 4th so now I'm thinking I won't even get it by Thursday.

I was thinking about how I should get my 18650 batteries charged up so when it does come, I'd be ready. Figured I'd check the tracking info and it says it has been delivered!!! Sure enough, walked to mailbox and there it was!

Just got the batteries in and gave it a few heat cycles...WAY quicker than what I was expecting.

So stoked...I'll have to post back after I've messed with it more.

Quick question...with the supplied 12.6v smart charger charging the (3) 20A 18650s in the Portside, is it safe/ok to use the unit? I had them charged to 4.0-4.1v when I put them in so I'm not worried so much now but for future reference. TIA

No problem at all. Can use while charging is fine.
BTW, new batteries should be topped up first, although the waiting can be painful.
A 1/2 hour more on the supplied charger should bring em up to full.

These were some I use with my FW4 so weren't necessarily new so I think I'm good? If i'm misunderstanding you, I don't mind waiting and letting them top off. THANKS! this thing is going to fit in very nicely
