Calm Consistency
My unit uses up a battery on one session.

The entire principal of the SSV/DBV/LSV.
I treat it during the heat application as a DBV turned to about 2:00 on the dial, and get perfect hits.
On a full battery I wait about 5 to 7 seconds before drawing.
I get about 5 to 6 satisfying hits (of 5-6 seconds each), then the load AND the battery are done.
Geez! I'm upset with all this poor battery life! :(

Maybe my doses are just really really small ... Idk, I get about 6-10 hits off a decent basket, first hit has maybe 1-2 sec preheat, and I'm on and off the trigger a lot of the time. Maybe because I pull so slow, I can really soak up all the heat. If I have fast follow up hits, I'm off the trigger almost as much as I'm on ..

The only variables I can see affecting it,
-Battery itself - doubtful
-bowl size/style/grind/pack - good possibility. I pack about .05, maybe less, Basket Style, medium to more than medium grind, and poured into the basket with a Doob tube and heat tamped, never touch it with my finger.
-My unit runs hotter - possible, but even on a cooler unit i was runnin 4 baskets
-Technique (draw rate) - good possibility (not that any technique is better than another)
-Herb itself - possible ... Can't see it have this much of an impact tho. I have high grade, average moisture / resin content. Nothing on either extreme.

That's funny @Vitolo, even on the LSV, I was more of an 11:00-12:30 hit slow kinda guy, instead of a 2:00 fast. I see you like your power ;)

This was what I made a few months ago regarding battery life. Voltage after number of baskets (didn't record after every single basket, which is why you see some numbers skip)
First set is the green (I believe) Samsung 25r that RBT provided with the first set of recessed Milaanas
2nd set is the yellow LG HE4s provided with the original Milaanas.

I believe this testing was a mix of through water / stems. Water I can kill a basket in 3 huge hits, stems are more like 7. More throttle time through water, but also faster bowls, so probably evens out.

Everyone mentions power dropping off as the battery depleted, but honestly, I never even consider it. It all feels so similar to me. Sometimes on like the 4th or 5th bowl I'll notice, but for the most part it always feels like it's running on max.

I can only recommend you try shortening your heat up time, pull a 7thfloor, and "ride the wave" (honestly think that name suits the Milaana so well). Maybe your unit is just cooler than mine, at which case, I understand your preheat. But when you're sessioning, it's not that important, the heater holds its heat for a surprisingly long time. In case you've missed it, I've held vapor for almost 10 seconds after releasing the throttle. Maybe you should take a light to your stem to see exactly when vapor starts and stops producing. Helped me a lot with heat conservation and really understanding my unit. You can get vapor in the stem at what feels like a surprisingly low temperature.

Sorry for the long post, I just try to put down whatever I think could possibly be useful to someone..anyone, lol.

Oooon a side note, decided to put the Milaana through water last nigh for the first time in a while, being that I finished my shifts for the week. I prepared a slightly larger than normal basket because I had been using the GH almost nonstop for a week and figured my tolerance shot up.

4 huge lung busters later, I realized my tolerance had in fact gone up. Disappointingly, I went over to the couch to read some late night FC and watch some local news (not sure why I've been doing this recently ...). 5-10 minutes later, Milaana smacked me upside the head, looked me in the eyes and yelled "what tolerance?!" I judged too soon. Mina never lets me down.

@RastaBuddhaTao
I personally VERY much think versatility fits the Milaana. I think it's what separates it from lots of units. Tons of ways to play with it.

I really like Vape Different, Vape Versatile.
It's understandable if you want to keep versatility for the Zion, but in all honesty, this thing is as versatile as combustion is fucked.

Vape Different! works with me.

When it comes to marketing, I think a follow up after a pause works really well to jingle the ears, "Vape different, Vape ___"
"Crisp like an apple, brewed like a beer"
Although "got milk" would prove that wrong.

Maybe it's just me, but 2 part slogans really hit me. The first part catches the attention through interest "crisp like an apple", but the second part brings in a familiarity that one enjoys "brewed like a beer". Although, honestly, they should've had an adjective adjective or verb verb, but they mixed it up. Not as smooth, but still works and gets my point across.

Thanks for stopping by RBT :)

Edit: my post took me so long to write I didn't realize all the answers people already provided about battery life :(

Bingo! I will PM you for your address. I was thinking maybe a dot in the middle? Or maybe dots at the points? How about the colors. It speaks to the Rasta but does it represent the brand? @RBTCustomerService wants to know your thoughts :)

"Is Vape Different! the right tag line?"

IMO, no. It's a ripoff of Apple and the vaping experience really isn't unique enough to warrant it, IMO.

Once you really nail down your brand identity (and it seems that it's something "spiritual" for me), the tag line should be born from that.

Puff down Babylon ;)

I like your current avatar but color it in with different colors. Top swirl is Red and top triangle yellow, swirl on the left yellow and triangle on the left green... and then swirl right green with a red triangle. The rasta yin-yang

Yeah that's wierd, from imgur you want to just paste the bb code here. Or you just drop the URL in the insert image function (but i tried that and yeah it's not working with yours for some reason...) So screencapped and reuploaded for you, with bbcode pasted below:

I agree! (when it's not all blown up huge an pixilated anyway)

"To get things started... I have been told that a logo should be simple enough that you can describe it to someone and they can draw it."

You're probably paying someone to tell you that, as it sounds right out of a textbook. I think the best branding comes from symbols that speak to the subconscious mind, and draw on larger things (Nike, for example is not just a check, but the planet Saturn... and Arco isn't just a red diamond, but the uncapped pyramid)

But anyway, a triune yin-yang with the red/gold/green and a triangle in the middle instead of dots, is a short sentence that some should be able to recreate that logo from. No?

Hey now,
G Y R are the Rasta colours. So for me, from the top of the avatar, its green, yellow (left side) then red (right side). Keep the sperms (yings) rotating counterclockwise but rotate the colours within the small triangles clockwise.
However, I prefer the simplicity of the 'R B & T on wavy sides of the triangle logo' on the age of consent page at rastabuddhatao.net
Batts are charged, time to ride the wave...

@b0: unless you plan to use the multimeter for something else afterwards, I don't think it's worth investing in a new unit, especially since I precised that you would need a *good* one, hence pricey. Maybe one of your friends already has one?

@Vitolo: you didn't say what cell model(s) you are using to get a single bowl per charge. Is this with the one(s) that came with your Milaana?

A while ago someone asked me for pictures of my setup for water using @DDave's stuff.

It's really just a 14mm m-m with a rimmed basket screen on top.
tumblr_oeckmazwHp1qb9a09o1_400.jpg

The screen sits really loosly in this particular m-m. Not an issue since gravity is on my side.

Then the reducer

And then the Mi.

I believe that a company should remain fully transparent at all times. If you are operating in the best interest of the customer you can always be honest about what your company is doing. This means that your failures as well as your successes need to be divulged. Operating in a open and honest way makes it acceptable to make mistakes rather than the typical tact of trying to hide bad news from the customer to prevent a "negative impact" to the brand. This transparent culture allowed us to resolve all defects uncovered in the initial Milaana fleet as well as make additional improvements to reach the design's entitlement. Thanks to all of you who patiently worked through the speed bumps that are encountered with every new product release in a very synergistic way.

As some of you close to me know, content from FC and my www have been used in court proceedeings for the past nine months. I apologize for being scarce and seemingly somewhat uncooperative as it was out of necessity. I am happy to say that my legal issues are now resolved and behind me and I am able to once again enjoy my freedom of speech. Please know that RBT customer best interest have always been the driving force.

I would like to thank all of you for your patience and support in the last few months. With some health issues behind me, a new grass roots FC manufacturer coming up to speed, and a Marketing Manager who is passionate about the product starting work to brand RBT, I am excited to start the next leg of this Journey.

Given that RBT started here I believe that the brand is here, in all of you. For that reason, I have asked that the Marketing Manager work with all of you in the branding efforts. So, what does the RBT brand mean to you? How do we simplify the logo? Is Vape Different! the right tag line? How does the new manual look, feel, read? How do we make RBT and it's products the best they can be from a customers perspective. In the coming weeks the answers will develop right here collaboratively and I am truly excited to watch what transpires.

To get things started... I have been told that a logo should be simple enough that you can describe it to someone and they can draw it. So, our current logo concept is an equilateral triangle with one side parallel with the ground. Now, draw a dot in the center of the triangle. Now draw a line from the dot to one of the points on the triangle. Now, repeat the last step for the other two points on the triangle. Now, this forms three minor triangles inside of the major triangle. Now, color the left triangle Red, the right triangle green, and the bottom triangle yellow.

The first person to post a picture that accurately depicts what is described above will receive a free pair of short mouthpieces and a screen pack (US shipping rate). Now, lets have some fun @VegNVape style :)

Honestly, I really like the current RBT 'triple yin/yang-triangle' logo.
tumblr_n0t30xkmu31qzyu6ho2_500.gif

Stick with that, it's good
Keep the colours minimal IMO, maybe just the inner triangle.

Really glad to hear that legal crap is behind you, it must be nice to have a little room to breathe if you've been suffering a gag for months!

I'd personally love to see exotic woods, but I hear ya about the added difficulties.
The manual seems pretty good to me.
I believe that the biggest boost to the company image will be that you (or someone else if it turns out you're too busy!) will be here to engage with and encourage discussion, so I'm glad that you are able to speak more freely to us now
Getting Milaanas out to customers already seems to be proceeding apace, and we can see the results of that in the thread here, but I believe getting Zions out to customers will also help to boost good feeling and feedback too.

I too am uncertain about "Vape Different".
RBT vapes are different, but being different isn't the leading strength IMO, as there are other qualities which are more prominent, such as purity, power, flavour, quality/natural materials etc which provide that 'whole package' that's so attractive.
"RBT, the whole package"
"Taste the clouds"
"Precision tools for vapin' cool"
"Evolved vapes"
"Natural power"
"Harness the clouds"
"Power in your pocket"
"Elevate, medicate"
Sorry, pretty poor suggestions there

I have a question both for Ryan and everyone else:
Does the vape community ever engage in 'tours' of vapes in the way that the headphone community does?
Manufacturers there sometimes provide a 'demo' production unit to circulate among a group of established and trusted community members who don't already own the model in question, so they can experience it for themselves and provide unbiased comment both for the manufacturer, and other prospective customers who are on the fence re' a purchase, or simply curious to compare the product to others.
Both RBT vapes have fared EXTREMELY well compared to the rest of my own small collection for instance (beats my GH handily for example, and absolutely decimates a couple of others I own), and more unbiased perspectives adds to the weight of opinion 'out there'.
It would also generate discussion around the products, less of which would be speculative, as some who might not have plumped for a Milaana or Zion will have the opportunity to test drive them first-hand.

I think RBT vapes would gather good results from this approach.
I appreciate that there are added difficulties for used vape products crossing borders etc, but RBT vapes don't get particularly 'dirty' and are also easy to clean to a spotless condition.
But even if a tour was restricted to the US, or even a single legal state, it would still guarantee extra impressions/opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress.

Second for the current logo, maybe adjusted, but the black and while resonates with me because of the unit, it felt like a symbiotic match.

I use "power in my pocket" all the time, evokes other images!

I sorta like harness the clouds, it's close, but missing something.....

RBT Milaana - power in the clouds?

Great stuff guys! The Vape Different is aimed at the manual / unregulated nature of the device (learning curve) It's a call to understand that the battery voltage drops with use and so does the wattage. Just as Milaana means modulate to help drive home the point that you need to use your senses to control the device. Remember, the average person will have trouble controlling the device.

I like the addition of the dots. I'm not sure that the Rasta colors are the right vibe? Maybe a more earthy shade? I do think that the RBT brand is about simplicity and the wavy triangle is the original logo.

In any event I am sure @RBTCustomerService will bring the logo and the brand together in a way that leads us to the right identity.

The plan is to run a grass roots marketing campaign using brand ambassadors who will earn Rasta bucks for spreading the word. Again, just thoughts from the early talks.

Keep the great ideas coming! No such thing as a bad idea when you are brainstorming.

Edit: another reason for logo simplification is we will be branding it into the wood just above the button. It's look when burned into the wood needs to complement the handmade / Vapor Punk feel.

How awesome will it look branded?

On another note, been taking mi for granted lately. What is really great about Milaana is her ability to deliver medication instantly, reliably, consistently, with no muss, no fuss, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Makes a big difference for those of us who need that.
