I would start out with the OG VapCap and see how you like it. They all operate about the same. The only benefit to getting the Ti Glassy or Woodie is that you can change out the bodies and use the same bowl for all body styles. Hope that came out somewhat clearly.

There is also very minor performance changes/differences with all models with a TI tip vs glass OG style. The amount of airflow and resistance into the cap changes things enough to change the overall results.

That said, i agree with MC79. Get the basic model, and if you like it you can always get another order later. The differences in performance are very minor, and it certainly could be possible for someone to prefer the OG glass to the TI because they simply are diffrent.

I'm using a single torch and it works perfect!

I just split the difference and bought a Scorch Torch double jet. I'll let you know how it works when my woodie gets here.

The Ti tip seems to just work better for me.

I've combusted only once because of failing to hear the click, other than that one time it's worked perfectly. I find the titanium is a lot more stable and heats evenly more so than glass.

I notice this on my first heat cycle with the Ti Tip, it's all flavour cause the tip it self is still warming up, I may have got the cap to temp but not the tip. With the OG the glass body heats up so quickly it can diminish flavour right away. Though this could just be because of where I like to torch my cap, low by the poker.

I'm not saying you can't get good flavour with the OG Vap, you just have to be more careful how you heat it.

Notice how deep the fins on the tips are now. I have thinned the titanium between the fins to a wonderfully ridiculous degrees.

I have to say, it is rather gratifying as I assemble these attractive little things. I sure would like to think that they look and perform different (hopefully as good or better) than anything else out there.

I can already tell those new tips and woodies will perform even better, for me at least. Look forward to trying one soon!

(btw feel free to send a Cocobolo to me instead of blackwood for my eventual replacement, like my original order actually... Will be all good either way. Also been meaning to follow up with you via pm but haven't had much spare testing time as of late, but should change soon, will be in Cali next month)

They may perform the same but I can tell you that they'd be a lot easier to torch in my case. Which will improve convenience and overall quality

Since the cap doesn't hang so far down the stem you don't have to be as careful when torching it. I like to hit it right on the first A in Dynavap on the cap, so the further away from the stem the better. I got a little to careless while twirling my vapcap in my fingers earlier and could possibly may have hit the o-ring with the flame, not for too long but should definitely be more careful. I can't see that being a problem with these babys!

So these look really really great.

Those look gorgeous. One question though. Can that red O-ring between the Titanium and wood be switched out for a black O-ring? I think it would look better with a black O-ring or no O-ring.

It probably could be but I believe that the red ones are designed to handle high temps.

I believe that is an industry standard color for the high temp for the many applications of Orings. You will probably be hard pressed to find a high temp rated oring in black.

That being said, if you do find one, let us all know

Edit: Wow. I just skimmed the Oring bible posted above. Who knew?!? Looks like there are a couple colors for high temp but I didn't see size ranges.

I don't think that oring seals anything. I believe it is for buffering the heat from the tip to the wooden body.

Just broke down and ordered a Ti woody. I've been watching this thread for a while and I just had to do it. Order 799, so no idea how long I'll be waiting. In the meantime, I was wondering, what is the length of this thing? I'm assuming it won't fit in my old one hitter dugout, but I wanted to make sure.

How are yall packing? Break and stuff it? Loose grind? Filled to top? What works best for yall?

@FlyingLow I tried cut up with scissors today so a lumpy consistency, I had no grinder. I didn't like it I get better results with a medium/fine grind. The results is more consistent ABV for me.
Snort it in and lightly tamp. The load probably sits 1mm below the rim.
Used my INH05 today, my electro biked buddy won't entertain the 'faff' of heating the VC.
My VC wins hands down in all areas. Harder, faster. stronger. leaner and any other 'er words which fit the bill.
I forgot fun'er.

You see I'm finding a simple rip and stuff method is producing excellent flavourful vapours, I haven't grinded for a good while now using it. It requires a tight pack to get two good hits of vapour, first is very flavourful with some visible vapours on exhale, the second is more full but has lost some taste.

Not knocking grinding I guess it's horses for courses

O.K. I ordered a woodie....I had VAS and the thing looks so cool and the idea of it working without batteries makes me smile. I sure hope I get one of the new ones! Thanks, George for making one that isn't just glass!!! I wold surely break that!

I'm not going with a tight pack I just lightly tamp so it's all even. I can't get with the rip and stuff thing, tried but prefer a grind.
I do empty out and re-fill, easier than stirring, and I can get another click out of it, not that I need it. I just told George I still can't get over how strong the effect is compared to my $200 electronics in a plastic tube.
Great that we all get good results with which ever method we prefer.
