Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

No one is answering under the Ask Fuck Combustion heading. What is the difference between the O-Phos and the Omicron Light. Is it purely the heat shield and cosmetics, or is there someway in which the Omicron Light is a meaningful upgrade from the O-Phos. I'm thinking of getting either an O-Phos or Omicron Light, and I kind of like the appearance of the O-Phos better.

When you say the Light has better electronics does that mean that it will run hotter? more reliably? What do you mean when you say better in this context?

better in this context means more ideal for the successful firing of omicron carts. but both will work great don't worry

i have an o-phos but never leave the heat shield on since i like holding the carts to know how hot they are...

Does it really? I want aware of that, I thought the light was just a straight replacement for the o-phos. maybe a different shaped battery and without the heat shield, but both appear to be full flow voltage (no voltage regulation like you get with the v2) pass through battery

V2 is regulated? I sure don't recall that from my testing. If it was regulated you wouldn't get the power boost switching to the IMR 14500, right? Did something (else) get by me? Did D9 take a big old step backwards?

On the difference question, I have the Omicron Light but not O-Phos. I too am under the impression that it's using the latest (and strongest) circuitry available. One is also slightly longer than the other, but I'm not sure which way. FWIW, I think the OL is a great 'entry level' pen......it should serve you well. It's basically a fourth generation product, improved and refined for the task of driving Omicron carts easily and effectively. While perhaps not yet 'the last word', it's certainly a reliable and useful tool.....with excellent support behind it.

No worries. I think Omicron V1 was regulated, but can't get to my notes on it and have given all my V1s away to folks that will use them some time back. V2 is not, which is why it performs better with better batteries.

That's a voltage limit, not regulation. It's destructive, right? I think the discussion was about 'full battery voltage' being available, again a regulation issue?

For whatever reason, V2s all deliver full battery voltage (minus a little overhead) to the load. The output decays as the charge depletes. Regulated versions deliver a flat (usually lower) voltage throughout the cycle.

Because V2 doesn't 'artificially' lower the output, increased performance from improved batteries (like the IMR 14500s ) "is passed right along to the customer at the pumps".

Foil Method: Take a tiny amount of your concentrate and put it on a piece of foil. Use a lighter or a torch and heat it up until it turns to liquid and finally burns off completely. It should leave minimal residue. If you are left with alot of gunk or black residue, you DO NOT want to put it in the Omicron.

I would suggest a V2.5 because you will be able to replace the batteries, you have the OPTION of using 7.4v with an HVD kit and you can use the 3.7 Hercules which will vape herbs.

Oh great, im glad i bought the omicron than so i can buy extra attachments for other use. Does the 3.7 Hercules only intended to be used a certain amount of times like the regular cartridges that are only supposed to be used once? Also would using the HVD kit with the hercules damage any parts of the vape?

Also Does the V2.5 top work better and where can i buy it? I cannot find it on Delta 9

Hercs can be ISO soaked or boiled clean for travel and re-use. Not disposable.

Oh ok, I was actually going to get the ophos but got a good deal on the Omicron V2 so i was just trying to compare those two. Ive never vaped before and thought the ophos would be a good start

What does the HVD do? I know it adds power so i suppose it gives fatter hits and uses more wax? Does it still give 400+ hits per cartridge if you use the HVD

HVD is meant for the 5.0 Ohms cartridges at the 7.4v setup using (2) 14350 batteries.

You will use much more oil, and likely burn it using the HVD kit. It is not necessary for a new user like yourself.

MASTER the 2.4 cartridge at 3.7v and progress from there.. LEARN the different battery setups, voltages and study the Cartridge Ohm chart here:

Loaded up a 2.4 for a road trip on Thursday. Used some very well purged ISO oil. Tastes fine and isn't clogging other then the usual tiny bit. Hope it keeps up the whole trip :tup:
