You aren't turning it upside down when it's hot are you? If you look I packed a really full bowl before I added that much oil, and I covered it with more. It was probably like 0.5g-0.6g of flower and almost 0.1g of oil...

I am getting resin build up in the stem, but I'm pretty sure that's just from thick vapor clouds. Make sure you have a thick bottom layer of flower packed down to fully soak up your concentrate.

Yeah, I cool it off but eventually turn it upside down to put it back on its dock. I assume that's when it runs and drips down. I'll have to give it another go - thanks for the tips JoeKickass!

Yea, Imagine that the oil is viscus enough to slowly flow down while you are charging it. I would not recommend charging the PAX or turning it upside for extended periods with oil inside the oven. If you are going to use anything "runny" I would recommend emptying out the oven once you are done with that session. I would not recommend pausing during the session. It should help.

From my experience the cotton does not conduct the heat well enough to heat up the oil. I did not get very good results when I tried some oil in a cotton ball. Maybe others have had better experience?

Replacement PAX came a few hours ago(thanks Greg @ vapeworld) , charging.

There was a little bit of vapor and a singeing sound when I first powered it up to red for a few minutes to do an empty burn-in. After that no vapor! No off-gas, YES!! PAX is the real deal, thank you Ploom!

Packed and charged!! 420

@drastic: i credit you as the first to notice and mention offgassing in the DV thread months ago, and some called you a competitor's shill. you were legit though, my DV outgassed like yours too. which is why it is really great to hear you "sign off" on this pax. just as i knew - the pax is here to stay!

Master the cigar method.

MMmmmm .4 tight packed super blue bream and a healthy .2 aaa blue dream wax, low 10-15 hits, then 10-? medium end, perfect! almost an hour session. Still had green battery!!!

Mine is extremely difficult to draw as others have mentioned. This is with an EMPTY oven, so don't tell me I need to pack it differently or grind my herb differently. Just as Loyalone mentioned, my Pax draws ok with no oven door, but as soon as you put the oven door on it's like trying to suck a thick milkshake through a tiny straw. I often wonder if there is some variation in tolerances on the oven door and some hit better than others.

With all that said, after a few oven loads of failure, I figured out the draw technique of a slow long draw and it gets me pretty decent clouds. It doesn't even feel like I'm getting any airflow when I'm drawing on it, but sure enough I exhale a good amount of vapor.

The Pax's restrictive draw is the #1 reason I prefer my Inhalater over it.

I was initially very let down that I couldn't get much of a draw. I actually got a real bad headache as I couldn't get a draw and had to suck as hard as I could.

After several disapointing oven loads I figured out how to slowly draw using my checks and started getting good vapor. However I still think its too restrictive. Working with Pax tech support and seems like its the oven lid. They are going to send another to see if that helps. Just a little more draw would make this thing fantastic!

You best bet is to find Herbs that vaporizer at the temperature the PAX can be set to. 370, 390, and 410 deg. F (210 C) Then look for those herbs in bulk through online sources.

Whenever I pull on a lower temp I see no vapor coming out and I feel nothing in my throat. I even have this issue when I turn it up all the way.

Pack tighter and/or draw slower, this isn't a convection vape where you breathe through it

ALL i got 2 say is WOW, this little device definitely is AWESOME! Best way to draw is kinda like a joint. Take a continuous sip like you would with a straw like 3-4 secs slowly, take your mouth off the mouthpiece and take a SMALL breath of air. Repeat till your lungs are full of vapor. Hold for several seconds, for me its like 10ish. SIMPLE! Anyways coming from smoking joints for years i find that the red more closely resembles that "FEELING" of smoking a joint. Medium heat is more "headish", red more "rounded" to me anyway. Temperature control is awesome in that you can really get a nice flavor profile for your different "blends". BTW my first oven was 0.3g, which was LIGHTYLY packed. Good luck with your new devices everybody! ANYBODY who doesnt have one is MISSING out! LOL!
