I just shot the cleaning video. I am super pleased with the results. I need to drop them in the computer and edit them. My battery is running low though, so I need to recharge before I import any footage. I will get to work on it tomorrow morning when the camera is good to go. I also expect to film the video review tomorrow as well.

People should be getting their hands on their units soon, I expect a few of you will get them tomorrow even!

Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly?
. . . On the Ploom website it states:
"[...] This warranty does not apply [...] (b) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended use as described by Ploom;".

The operative words are " . . .damage caused by . . .". To prove damage caused by a herb – any herb –has to be virtually impossible. The warranty and use of 'unpermitted' herb, should therefore be unaffected.

Hai_Rypo_T'head,
First off, this whole forum is awesome for being Vap dedicated (kudos)... Second, I'm currently a Wispr user (which I love) but as soon as I saw this Pax about 2 days ago the game changed. Battery operated = no more butane. Kind of excited. The 30 second heat up time (someone confirm?) sounds ultra appealing also. Just order my black Pax hoping it will ship this week with the pre orders going out. I think it's safe to say I'm equally excited about this lil guy as the rest of you. :ko:
Happy Vapin'!

OK, so this is basically a question about cleaning, smell, and operation.

I own the MFLB and I love it. I take skiing all the time out west and it works great for me. In September we are going to the Bahamas and I won't bring the MFLB because I don't like bringing things like that back into the country. In the past I would bring meds and a new pipe and leave the pipe and whatever was left. Of course I don't want to combust this time and no way am I going to try to bring the stinky-ass MFLB back into the country.

So, I am thinking maybe the Pax is the answer. I could buy it and bring it over in my suitcase, clean it up nice for the flight home. I think it would be OK since it is for tobacco and like was stated earlier, I could even bring some loose tobacco. I mean the thing doesn't look like a device for marijuana and from what I read it doesn't smell bad and can be easily cleaned.

So, I'm not asking if it's smart or whatever to bring a Pax, just want to get a sense of the Pax vs. MFLB in such situations. When not traveling with it, I would like to bring it to work so I can medicate every now and again during the day. Again, my MFLB would just be too stinky for that as well. Plus with the MFLB you have to go so slow and controlled that it takes a few minutes to get where you need to be. I'm hoping the Pax hits easier and quicker...

The only Vape I'd feel comfortable bringing across the border is a thermovape, since you can boil them sterile. There's just too big of a chance your going to miss some resin and they only need to find a smudge, especially when the the pax has its vapor path go up through the unit.

The unit heats up in under a min, and I wouldn't suggest power vaping as you won't get that much. Causually puffing like a cigarette seems to work great.

My Pax came this morning, used it once so far so it isn't gunked up yet. As for while using it does smell like any other portable, Iolite owner. If your outside you should be alright, and other than puffing on something it's inconspicuous. Stirring is a must!! If ya want a consistent dense hit. The overall sesh if ya hurry I'd say would 8 mins on a full pack.

THINK you should be alright if have 99% rubbing iso alcohol, going through the vapor path of the unit carefully. Bring a new screen for the way out and in. Soak and scrub the mouth peice and oven lid thoroughly. Maybe vape a couple of pinches of tobacco before your departure. Hope that helps dude!!

I never have to stir my iolite / Wispr. Every other vaporizer has to be stirred. It's kind of annoying to me.

Especially if its hard to stir and may result in spillage.

Obviously the pin in the iolite helps to evenly brown the herb.

Other manufactures should adopt this into their devices.

Ploom could of added aluminum or stainless (whatever they are using ) in the center of the oven so all sides have contact with the herb.

Even Puffit could of added an aluminim pin inside the cap instead of the stirring tool. That would go down into the bowl for even browning. They probably still can.

Or ploom could change the oven lid with a lip in the middle. That could reach down into the oven.

Agreed. They could have also used a mouthpiece that had less heat conduction, as I find it does tend to get too hot for the soft part of the lip. That or and extender of some sort. That being said this thing is the best portable I've used to date. Super happy I bought one.

Alright so I let it fully charge, packed it full, ad walked to work. for a good 7 minutes I was getting continuous hits, no stirring. On break I'm going to finish what I have left. I'll put a pic of the seconds up when I get home. A lip would be a way to increase the life without stirring, but it's inevetable. I only have a single pin on my iolite so stirring is a must, also I live in the mountain so my unit has trouble at times.

Well that could be since I wasn't even talkin to you??smh...

Well you weren't, but you classified everyone that read the entire thread as a faggot with no life. And I read the entire thread, so therefore I am a faggot with no life.

Very excited to order the pax when I get back from vacation.
