Hi Guys.
Quick check in !

RE: cleaning
Removing the screen is easily done with the sharp end of a wooden or bamboo toothpick.
Cleaning the chamber is best done with some isoropyl alcohol and cotton swab.
Don't use anything sharp or hard as this may scratch the plating and lead to premature oxidization (ditto for abrasive cleaners).
The Heat Chamber will take on a bit of a patina over time, but this should not reduce it's effectiveness.
If some alcohol dribbles down the hole into vapor path that's fine (it is isolated from the electronics inside) but we don't recommend pouring any liquid into the chamber itself.
Blow out the extra and let it dry for at least a half hour or so before you use it again.

The Aluminum top cap, Stir tool, Silicone heat guard and polypropylene Mouthpiece can be cleaned with regular dish soap and water. ( always let dry before replacing them)
The outside of the housing can simply be wiped down with a mild household cleanser (no harsh solvents)

Care should be taken to not get the USB port wet or dirty (part of the reason for the replaceable mouthpiece) as this can oxidize the contacts and make charging difficult. (we have all experienced this at some point, the classic "gotta wiggle it around" problem with charging)

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Ok I'll try one more time, nice and slow...

You're device is battery powered, and while it is very intriguing to me, when the battery eventually stops holding a charge (as all batteries do) the device I bought will be rendered useless. In other words, your product won't last forever.

In order for me to properly weigh the pro's and con's of purchasing your device I need to know if you intend on supporting your customers those years down the road when they need a new battery. It's not even a guarantee, you could disappear or go out of business like any company could, but we need to know your official stance on long-term support of your device.

Otherwise we have to plan on replacing it every couple years and that does factor into the cost... at least for me...

So to replace the battery you have several options:
- Ship us a new unit, we keep the old unit (you would make many friends... not so much money maybe?)
- Ship us a new unit, we ship the old unit back (pretty standard)
- We ship the unit back and wait while you replace the battery (not recommended...)

I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting to hear which one you choose!
:)

Re:Replacement batteries

Yes we plan to offer out of warranty service! (I am sure I have mentioned this before although I can't seem to find the post on my Phone and slow ass roaming data connection). We will have North American, European and Asian service bureaus set up eventually where you can have a new battery installed.
Details pending (LOTS to do and that one is lower on the list)

Have they got your bucks already? There might be time to go with a competitor's unit?

I know GotVape has a bad reputation around here, but they cannot control what happens during shipping. There are customs and inspections to deal with, and sometimes shipments are delayed because of such. If a company does not service their customers properly, then customers will talk badly about them, maybe they will change their services to correct that in the future.

I know it is a bummer to not receive your paid for product on time, but do not blame GotVape, I am sure they want to ship them as badly as you want to receive them.

This is why I wish there were another vendor selling these.

Very true, Sir Knight. And well put.

However, in this case we know that aside from an initial small lot there have been no further available, only sales. No other shipments to get lost, delayed or sidetracked. Production issues we're told are being corrected. Well and good. And it seems some of those originals went to employees who later showed up here? Not a good start. Paying customers would have liked a shot.....

The way to restore respect in the market is, of course, to start showing it to others. Some will ignore the treatment, some will stand by hoping for improvement, some of us it seems will wait for other options. To each his own, as they say.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
Hi, I would like to say I have been reading this forum for about a year or two and love all your posts. I do not own a volcano lol and am not working for any company. Ok with that said I am interested highly in this vape and love that the manufacturer comes to answer all the questions in some cases more then once. You all say only gv sells it but are they also affiliated with vapornation who does have this device listed? They also claim July 2012 but you would all know better then me if they are a better company. I signed up just to throw that out here.

BTW love the video dogman it was very helpful. I will also wait for the Ventolin looking one.

I was really not paying too much attention when I was doing my video, but I was looking at the temperature adjustment on my Puffit today and noticed I had it set on 6 rather than 8. The clouds I usually get on setting 8 are thicker than they are on 6, so my apologies for not having it turned up for better cloud production in the video.

I remember setting it down the night before to see the difference in flavor versus clouds, and the flavor is about the same on either setting.

Anyway, sometimes I do ridiculous things so my apologies for not setting the temperature up to show better clouds, maybe I will do another soon to give the full effect.

I really love this place!

I believe that GotVape is the main distributor and that they sell wholesale to other vendors.

I won't let GotVape get a penny of my money, even as just a part of the supply chain.

That was a great video!

I was skeptical at first, but after you and another member's review on the unit, I am now intrigued!

This might have been addressed already (sorry if so), but how much herb do you usually use to fill the chamber? I noticed it wasn't completely packed either, so I'm thinking it wasn't much. Do you usually get around 5-7 hits with how you packed it in the video?
I ended up getting about 20 hits in that bowl in two sessions. If I pack it tight, I can get about 30. I did not do a real fine grind on that bowl either, it was still a little chunky and I have found the finer the grind the better'

This thing really sneaks up on you, you really don't feel as though you are getting that much, next thing you know you are super high. I don't usually post this late, but I just finished a session with Puffit an hour ago and I hate to waste a great buzz.

I will do a fresh video tomorrow and weigh the amount I put in there, turn up the heat and do some serious grinding and show you what it can really do, it made me cough tonight and I wasn't expecting that.

The more I use this, the more I like it!

Have a great night all!

I don't seem to see much vapor trails but I certainly get very buzzed from this little unit. My problem with this unit is that when I press the top down to get it started again it doesn't always connect I am finding myself hitting the cap 3 to 4 times get to started. Not sure if I am doing it right or the unit is starting to fail. Anyone else having this problem? Jeff

On the Stoop
Hi Cybermouse, try using a fine grind, fill all the way and then pack it down a bit. I get good visible vapors at 6-8. I find that you have to push the cap in dead center and make sure you're holding it in for at least 3 seconds. This may be just my imagination, but i found that when i put the cap back on, even though it looks the same on both sides that fit in the unit, it seems to connect better when one particular side was in the back so i put a small dot with a magic marker on that side. Now when i replace the cap i make sure that side is in the back.

yea. pre-order charged the full amount which seemed weird. Most pre-orders I've done don't charge until the item is shipped.

Bummer. Avoiding the ethics of taking money for what you know you can't deliver, perhaps a refund until they become 'off the shelf' which the maker said is not that far off? Fortunately there are useful alternatives to amuse you as you wait....

Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be, and one doesn't get involved for that.

Hey everyone. I have been lurking on here for a while now(since I pre-orderd my Puffit) and I have a question for those who already have one: have you vaped any hash out of it? If so, how did it go? I am curious if it would work for this. Also I know some people had battery replacement questions on here and I saw this on GotVape's Puffit Q and A:
What kind of battery does it take and does it ever need to be replaced?

The PUFFiT Portable Vaporizer features an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery. The battery is backed by a 3 month Manufacturer's Warranty, while a service plan will also be available for the PUFFiT Portable Vaporizer at a rate of
59.99 after the warranty has expired.
I guess that is right around how much I would expect it to cost. It will suck sending the unit wherever to get it fixed and having to wait to get it back. Hopefully it lasts a long time before that happens.

aj0125,
Can't wait for the backlog to clear got the money set aside now. Is there a time prediction on an Australian retailer because $40 shipping hurts? :/

If you dont want to have it charging on your PC, can you use one of those USB to AC charging type cables?
