Just got an iPhone. I tried the same system several years ago on another forum and was never able to figure it out. I'd email one of the mods to post them.

Cybrguy- what did you get that was wow?

All 4 of mine wow me, got a cocobolo omni, cocobolo omnivong , cocobolo ti-vong and a black and white ebony woody with ebony mouthpiece. Took advantage of the online sales and also got a little bandit, majic flight orbiter and chewy 2 grinder.

Was my bday present to myself :)

Well they're definitely chipping away at the pile of orders. I got my shipping email today so it should be heading North of the Wall sometime soon! I also tripped, fell, and accidentally ordered a Interplanetary Developments Silo and Launchpad while they have a 30% off sale still. I really like the look of the Dynastash but it's not very stealthy. I'll have to get one of those later (maybe to celebrate legalization here!)

@Sander wow that’s quite a score!

I just figured out how to make imgur work on iOS. Instead of using the “share” option to get the link in the app make a long press on the picture you want to share and choose copy link. Now use that link to insert in your post when you tap on the portrait icon above the forum text box

Yeah, that's kinda odd. These LE tip were apparently a bitch for them to make. I had difficulty focusing on the edge with my phone camera but you can see my first batch LE tip is much smoother.

Could it be a shiny silver faceted mouthpiece?
No no no no... lets not get crazy. :)

It was a Wenge XL Dynastash. I hadn't seen any XL stashes lately and I was on the hunt. George decided to be my safari guide.

Got my Omni XL and.... I'm slightly disappointed. The mouthpiece-end of the body has scuffs, scratches, and imperfections.. didn't expect something perfect, but for the high price I expected something damn close to perfect. :-(

Already tried to remove the scuffs with iso, but nah, they're definitely permanent.

I had a similar experience. The omnivap xl from the sale I received looks just about the same as yours- it doesn't have a smooth, shiny finish. It has that same almost rippled type look that yours has. Almost like a thumbprint. Any pics online Ive seen of current omnivaps they look very smooth and shiny top to bottom.

Don't get me wrong, it functions really well- and I really like the new ti tip. Im just surprised- side by side my new omnivap xl honestly looks rougher than my heavily used/abused year+ old omnivaps.

I got 2 silo's myself. They fit perfect in an old leather wallet I had that also held an iPhone 5, nice to be able to use the wallet again.
I didn't like the centre part of the silo so cut the thread and glued one side, will cut it shorter when my lathe gets setup.
Here's a tip-I dropped a magnet in the cap of the silo and put another magnet on an old credit card. With the dynavap in the cap and the cap stuck to the card it's super sturdy and the aluminum cap helps to cool it faster. Just make sure your cap fits snug or it can get stuck...no big deal to get out.
I also glued a magnet to a round Kannister extract container. It looks like interplanetary's launch pad but it's more useful with it doubling as a container.

I'd post pics but I'm stopid

Just as well. Imgur doesn’t give you a workable link if you’re using an iPad that lets you post. I gave up some time ago.

try here -> https://postimages.org/

it's simpler :D, copy manually the -> Direct link

fantastic! I will prove it

edit: I did not read what was in the app, I can not use the app imgur by obsolete IOS :bang: ...

Thanks, good luck getting something worked out.

Just glanced at some more omnivap pics- I couldn't find any that had the same wavy looking finish to the metal that yours has. Mine has exactly the same finish.

Im getting the impression that really isn't normal.

Those are Machining marks/surface finish that you're talking about. That is normal and it's likely that they have changed cutters and tool paths for better cycle times on their parts while still maintaining an acceptable surface finish. The smoother you want the metal to be, the more passes you have to make and the more time you have to spend.

If you look very closely at his pictures there's actual divots where something with hard points or teeth have bitten into the surface. You can see where it's marred the edge in the second picture. This is not normal and shouldn't be there on a new product.

That has a much thicker top edge than mine and it looks very smooth and uniform even through the blur. This poor tip looks like it bounced around in a bin of other LE tips quite a few times with its sharp edges picking up marks.

I'm glad I haven't used my tip yet as I forgot to clean it. There's a white film on the inside of the tip which looks to be dried up coolant after the taper was machined into the o-ring side of the tip. :uhoh:

All this magnet talk leaves me perplexed, as I have a dynastash and a couple other places that have those kinds of magnets. And, they are all absolutely useless to remove the cap any time after it's been broken-in and snugged itself up. The magnets have only been strong enough to remove the cap when it's new and still loose enough. (Like when they are brand-new, and the cap can fall off if you tip it downward)

I use a magnet on both sides, one on the object I'm sticking it to and one in the cap of the silo...it's a much stronger grab and nice when out and about. 1 of my 4 caps was Really loose from the start and after 2 weeks of constant use never tightened up. I'd pinch it but it was just a loose cap. Ended up losing it the first day it left my house.

Thanks for clearing that up. Just in general the body I received is rougher than what I had expected.

I never understand how to post pics on here..but heres what I mean... I expected this:

Hard to see- but it looks rougher than any other vapcap body I have that are all heavily used. Both ends are rough and chipped.

You should play with it some more, unless your magnets are defective it should be totally possible to find a fit that will stay snug yet still come off with the magnet. I have even my LE tip which as someone said earlier is an even looser fit than a normal tip set to where it can be suspended from an upside down magnet but still slide the cap off when I pull on it. One of my magnets is over 2 years old and one is brand new I just got Saturday and they will both do it

Was told they were discontinuing the exotics and wood being my business and passion I knew I'd regret passing them by.
Hopefully they don't use them again, these species will soon be listed as threatened and I'd sure feel like a smuck if I saw them on the site a year from now!

I might try posting tomorrow :)

Yes, they are discontinuing or delisting Exotics which I totally agree with. I also avoid using exotics and never buy them, as I don't wish to contribute to the global market. I have small quantities that are drying up and most were gifted to me or salvaged.

I've grown to love domestic hardwoods which are sustainable and have their own beauty if treated properly.

@Ramahs try scrubbing your tips with plain white toothpaste or baking soda. When they shine back up your caps will slide on and off easier

My caps are fairly clean. Plus, I don't want them to be lose as they are when they're new, as I don't like using them out and about till they snug up to the tip after the metal does a decent amount of expansions and contractions. Before that "breaking-in" period my caps usually fall of when I angle them down when they're that new. All three caps that I own were all the same when they were new, then after a week or so of use, they'd snugged up enough to be just right. Of course, by that time the magnets barely remove them.

Besides. The only thing I use the magnets for is a stand. I just pull the cap off with my fingers. It never seems hot enough to burn just in the one or two seconds that I'm touching it.

I don't see the point of playing with it. I don't want them lose and falling-off like when they are new.

Wow! is VW T2 ? i have one T4

I don’t know anything about these vehicles but I’d love to have a miniature one. Ha

Thanks for your help with posting that pic! It’s important for others having problems posting pics with Imgur to know to....

....CLICK ON that tiny picture to the right of the whole ‘Direct Link” and that’ll copy the link for you. When you click on that it’ll say “Copied”. Don’t even try to copy the link yourself because you just can’t capture it, there’s no “select all” option and it’s impossible to highlight the whole link. Anyhow, come back here and choose the Image Icon just to the right of the ‘face’ icon and it’ll ask you to paste the link into it. :)

I FINALLY figured out how to use my IPad with imgur (with a little help from @cybrguy )
Use Safari to access your imgur account. Click on “Images” from menu. Click on picture you want to upload and use the URL that is right next to the “Link” drop down.
Add .jpg to the end and you are good to go!!!
Sorry for the OT - but excited to share my long journey to success!

in postimages.org ,, with my old ipad does not work the automatic copying (small image to the right of the link)

that is why I click on one end of the link and keeping the cursor dragged at the end of the end, when releasing it leaves option to copy

That's my operandi mode from my ipad
